To see my Grand Floridian photos, please go to my main photo album (link given below) and click on the "Walt Disney Resorts" collection. Once there, click on the "Deluxe Resorts" collection. In there, click on the "Grand Floridian" collection.

Click here for my main photo album.

Okay, I've gotten a few more PMs with requests for more Grand Floridian photos. I spent quite a bit of time today adding some albums (it went from 11 Grand Floridian albums to 28 Grand Floridian albums). I need to consolidate some of those albums but simply don't have the time right now. I'm sorry about that. I also have more albums and photos to add, but I think those of you who were specifically looking for Royal Palm Club type of photos should be happy with the latest additions.

Yeah - after 3 weeks of trying (not everday) - I booked the Pirate Adventure for my 9 year old DS.

My daughter has been attending the Pirates Cruise for many years. She loves it (as she does the Cooking Class and Wonderland Tea Party). I haven't uploaded her photos from last year but do have some other photos in an album (a hodgepodge through the years). Click here to view them. She has also attended the kids' cruises at the other resorts (PO, YC, and CBR). She's loved them all.

When I can find time at the end of this month to work on my on-line photo albums, one of the first things that I'm going to do is upload my daughter's photos from each of the kids' activities that she attended during our last WDW vacation (she attended them all). She really took some very fun photos, and they should give the parents a very good idea as to what their children will experience during them.

I hope your child has a wonderful time on the Grand Floridian's Pirates Cruise.

...we'll be staying at the GF Sugarloaf in November... I wanted to know if someone could tell me where to locate the laundry facilities.

I wish my husband were awake. I would ask him about the Laundry Room in Conch Key or Sugar Loaf -- he's normally the one who does laundry when we're on vacation (and even when we're not!). However, last year I was on an extended vacation without him and thus got stuck doing it myself. I do have photos of the Laundry Room in the Main Building. It should kinda give you an idea as to what to expect in the Lodge Buildings: click here.

In some small way, I hope that helped. Have a wonderful vacation. And have fun doing your laundry. ;)

Thanks for answering my PM, Janet. It's good to see you. I answered with what pictures I was specifically looking for.

You're welcome, Triplefigs. I hope I have added enough photos to satisfy you for now. ;) A few others had the same needs as yourself.

Thank You for posting the wonderful pictures.

You're welcome, Clownfish1452. Let me know if there's something in particular that you'd like to see. I'll do my best to find a few photos (or point you in the direction of someone who has them).

Thank you - Janet2K!!! I will check out the pics today. This is our first time doing a kids activity. We only go for 4 full days at a time and usually just hit the parks the whole time. This is my little guys 6th year in a row so I thought I would try something a little different for him.

there was no laundry at the sugar loaf building was i was there in JUly. I had to go to the building right in front of it and there were only 2 washers and 2 dryers.

Janet2K, your photos are amazing, and it's so nice of you to take the time to post them! I'm staying at the GF for the first time in Nov. and will be in SL, unless we get lucky and get an upgrade to RPC (Lives4Disney will not like it if I get one and she doesn't!! LOL). That would be a dream...I am wondering if you will be downloading any more photos of the SL lounge?

Minniesota---I did the GF spa one year ago. It was smaller than I expected and it had shower issues, specifically the shower knobs not working properly on both showers. We were only successful getting one shower operating. Also, the steam room was "out of order." Hopefully by now they have fixed the problems. I was disappointed.

However, I had a massage that was fabulous. Really the best one I think I've ever had! I'd recommend that! Although we didn't do it, I know they have manicures and pedicures too. Have fun!

Okay - I was a little concerned about staying in the GV rooms. I had never stayed at the GF without CL (though I wasn't a big fan of SL  ).

So, here it goes. The room was not renovated. It was the yellow/blue theme, but we did get the room we requested, #5431. When we arrived, we were greeted by a picture from Minnie and Mickey, a rose, bottle of champagne, and a white chocolate Mickey with white chocolate strawberries. :wizard: They were all wonderful! :goodvibes

Here are pics of our room -

We did still get nightly turn down service, which was nice after a long day at the park. The new chocolates,

Even in the GV rooms, H2O toiletries are used.

The room was clean, and we liked having the taller ceilings. It made the room feel larger. I can say, however, the GV rooms are smaller than the standard RPC rooms.

I liked being at the GF, but it was different having to walk to the main building for the monorail. As for the busses, it was 2 days into the trip that we found the "back way" to the busport and didn't have to walk through the lobby to outside. We were in Sago Cay, so we walked around the right side of the main building, which led to the busport on the left and the Convention Center on the right.

The GV rooms were nice, but I was hoping to see one of the renovated rooms in person. I don't personally like them in the pictures, they are a little *too* beige for me. Unfortunately, that didn't happen.

I was also a little unused to not having snacks and drinks available. At one point, we tried to move to CL, but since SL was closing on Sunday, the only room we could hope for was RPC, which was unavailable. On Friday, I contacted Private Dining to have a tray of the CL desserts sent to the room, but it took an act of God to get it done, not to mention a $76 charge... :scared: We couldn't get them until Saturday, as the pastry chef had already left for the day on Friday. I don't know why they couldn't just get them from RPC... :confused3 I asked for the cream puffs, fruit tarts, and orange or lemon cakes. When the mgr. called on Saturday, she said that none of them were available, RPC doesn't serve those desserts anymore. I told her that anything would be fine, as long as it didn't have nuts on it. She called me back and said due to the fact that I can't have nuts, the only thing I could have would be cream puffs and fruit tarts.... :scared1:

All in all, the GV wasn't bad. It was much cheaper than RPC (we had an AP rate of $255), so I would say we got the most for our $$. It is quite a bit more walking from the transportation, but when you are in Disney, what is another 1/2 mile or so? :lmao:

Angela - I love your pictures and THANKS so much for the review!!!! Your room looks cute. I love the look of the dormer rooms. I have read over and over that the dormer rooms are smaller than standard. Maybe it was the fact that you had a dormer room, not necessarily that it was a garden room??:confused3 I still like the "old" decor much better than the new. I agree....kinda beige = blah... Maybe in person it's livelier.

OK....that dessert story with the manager????? :upsidedow What the heck??:rotfl: I was reading that thinking YES THEY DO still serve those desserts....and then that's what you wound up with.:confused3 $76!! YowWow. Funny. We just thought they were FREE.:lmao:

So......what do you really think?? Was it tough to enjoy GV because you kept staring at the main building?? Or did you just not like GF GV as much as a standard room somewhere else?? I have not ever minded standard at YC - I actually enjoy it! - and I think the main reason is because we have not ever done YC concierge, so we don't know what we're missing out on. Did you just really miss RPC? If so, did that overshadow your GV stay?? *Will I be gloomy for 10 nts in a GV room missing RPC?* :guilty: Ugh.

THANKS again!!!:wizard: Hope you had a wonderful time & that MK shoot sounds really neat. Did that go well??? Will we get a link to the pics??

Channing :)

Should I request a room in the Sago Cay section? I have a Garden View booked. What is RPC? Also, do I have to request 2 Queen beds, I don't want 1 king size.

Here I am again!! I should have asked how I can find out what all these abbreviations mean?

I have been told that Sago Cay rooms are the closest to the transportation. but it sounded like you had a long way to go to get to the bus & monorail? Should I request a certain view, too?

THANK YOU!!

Does anyone know what type of cleaner you can use to clean the door plaques that list the room number?

I bought some from ebay corresponding to the rooms we've stayed in and want to clean them up a bit.
Thanks.

Channing - it was a little sad while I was staring at the main building. But, I quickly got over it. After all, we were at the GF. ;) So, it can't be all that bad. The only other standard room I have stayed in at a deluxe is the WL. So, I don't have a lot to compare it too. I think you guys will be okay in GV. When I compare the cost of the pastries to the $1600 additional I would have spent to stay RPC, I would gladly pay that for the cakes. However, they are free when you are paying $640 a night... ;)

We aren't doing the MK shoot until our trip in December, for our anniversary. When I get those, I will definately post the links. ;)

When are you going again? If you want a new room, Sago Cay isn't for you. Most of the rooms have 2 queens, you will only get a king if by chance to request it and are VERY lucky!

If you booked Garden View, that is the view you will get. You can only get other views (Lagoon, MK View, etc) if you book it and pay for it. ;) Also, it isn't that far of a walk, however I am used to staying in the main building, so for me, it was a long walk.
