that grille cheese at the poly is so good. They have some sort of italian sandwhich at gaspies my DH had it and loved it.

Unbelievable! After nothing available from mid-December on, no APs, no AAA, nothing....I managed to grab a discounted GV room at the GF with this new code for Dec 15 - 20! I am so excited! I had pretty much given up on the GF this year, and had a reservation for the full week at the YC, but now the first 5 days will be at the GF!

Now, if I can only keep it a surprise from the wife and kids! ;)

Wow! That's great!:thumbsup2

That is strange that all of a sudden it came up available. :confused3 Maybe somebody else was waiting for a diff resort while holding the GF ressie and switched when the code came up. I think people go nuts with the switcheroos when a discount code becomes available. ;)

It was meant to be for you. Have a great time!

Channing :)

I think what happens is it is time for people to pay in full for their trips and anybody who just reserved their room but wasn't sure if they were going are now cancelling. Hopefully that means empty rooms and more upgrades for us:woohoo:

Yea!!! Lucky! Another reason to keep checking, keep checking, keep checking! Have a great trip!

Can anyone give me recommendations on the food at the Gasparilla grill?

I was over at ALL Ears Net checking out the menu.

Jerk Chicken Sandwich with coleslaw $7.49
Tabbouleh Wrap with coleslaw $5.99

Both seemed interesting. FYI, the Grilled Cheese at Capt. Cooks, over at the Polynesian, is worth the walk.

DW loved the Italian Sandwich and the Chicken Caesar Salad was okay.

I enjoyed the regular and the Jerk Chicken with coleslaw - TheTabbouleh Wrap was okay, but after eating half it was became very unsatisfying... It might be a good item to try if you have someone that wants to share a wrap.

I also found the help in Gaspies willing to prepare whatever your request - within limits of course, overall a great place for a quick bite. popcorn::

I've heard the Kona Coffee at the Poly is excellent - can anyone confirm if it is worth the walk from the GF. :coffee:

That is great news - the first two nights of our stay were going to be at YC or SSR - then after many calls and checking with the CRO, the first two days of our stay became available with AAA discount for GV Room at GF.

For whatever the reason for the discount code worked this time around - Congratulations! :thumbsup2

Hello! Heading back to GF 10/27 for a couple days before moving to the villa. The last time I was there it was a bit chilly so we didn't get to use the pool. Do they have servers that work the pool area for drinks/food like they do at SAB?

TIA!

Could someone please tell me where I can view a map of the GF. We've only ever stayed in Boca Chica and would like to try a different building this trip. Just not sure which building is which. Thanks!!

Yeah! :cheer2: By this time tomorrow, I will be strolling down Main Street! Now, though, I have to get back and finish my Psych paper... :surfweb:

Yes, I think Kona is definitely worth a walk or ride to the Poly. :thumbsup2

Ekball - Thanks for the thumbs up on the Kona Coffee - I'll definitely make the effort to get over and try a cup or two or three... :thumbsup2 :coffee:

Can someone please tell me the shiiping address for the GF? We want to send somepackages ahead. How early can we send them and are they pretty good about being able to locate them right away?

Hello, everyone. I've been away from the Dis since the end of June / beginning of July. Only recently have I logged back in (but that was to post on the Weddings / Honeymoons Board). I hope everyone has enjoyed their recent Grand Floridian vacations.

Amongst the many PMs in my box, were requests for links to my Grand Floridian photos. I've answered those PMs, but thought I should pop in here to post a link to my main photo album. A few of you know that my photos were moved to the Flickr website over the summer. The vast majority of them are still marked "private," but I have begun marking a few of them "public" as the requests come in.

To see my Grand Floridian photos, please go to my main photo album (link given below) and click on the "Walt Disney Resorts" collection. Once there, click on the "Deluxe Resorts" collection. In there, click on the "Grand Floridian" collection.

Click here for my main photo album.

I’m sorry that I only have a handful of my Grand Floridian photos shared, but I do hope to begin rectifying that situation around the middle of October. However, if anyone has a particular request for anything “Grand Floridian” or otherwise (since I’ve stayed in all of Disney’s resorts and my family has experienced many unique things), simply send me a Private Message and I'll do my best to mark more of my photos “public.” For example, I haven’t shared my photos of the Main Building’s Royal Palm Club lounge. If anyone wants to see them, send me a PM.

Sincerely,
Janet

Thanks for answering my PM, Janet. It's good to see you. I answered with what pictures I was specifically looking for. :goodvibes

Brian D and tenbelow, congrats on your GF rooms!

Thanks triplefigs :goodvibes

Okay this one is for all you Narcoossee's fans that have had the Chef's recommended Mangrove Snapper Dish. I have two questions the first is was the meal as delicious as it sounds?

The second question is, does the kitchen "debone" the fish prior to serving? pirate: This would seem like a silly question  to me, except that the only time I've had snapper was at a friends and they served it whole. :scared1: While the fish was delicious, I prefer mine deboned and ready to go. ;)

Thanks! :wizard:

Hi everyone,

I'm terryfromhawaii, don't know if I've introduced myself yet but we'll be staying at the GF Sugarloaf in November. We've stayed RPC before as well. I wanted to know if someone could tell me where to locate the laundry facilities. Thanks a bunch!

Terry
