WTG, Channing! For those checking RPC rates, what is the AP rate for RPC? Is AAA better?

Denise, the thing is there are not even AP rates available for July for GF so I got even luckier with AAA. Why there are AAA rates and no AP I have no clue. That doesn't seem right. The AAA is 10% off, so about $75. Better than nothing, but this has sent the limited budget cheapy trip thru the roof, haha. I am soooo happy, but not feeling great about blowing the budget. I just feel the Disney magic at that wonderful GF like nowhere else. We all do!

BCV, gosh! I am happy about driving too. We used to do it once a year, but it's been a LONG time- I think we prefer IN vs going ALL the way down IL....at least once we cross into IN we feel like we are getting somewhere, lol. That first part of the drive is the pits.....KY, TN, GA are pretty.....then you get to FL with all those "We Bare ALL" billboard signs Not ready to explain those, lol......I have to say that we really do enjoy the trip & have fun with it, too. We used to always make it to Chattanooga for the first nt, but we won't be leaving til Friday afternoon about 3 pm so not sure where that will put us about 11 pm. Sat will be a big driving day and I booked the Sheraton Safari to just pass out for that night and check into the GF Sunday. That is wild that you drove all that alone! Can't imagine that!!!! Was that a crazy act of WDW desperation??

Kelly, YES! We need to plan to meet and I will take you up to see RPC and meet Vonnie and Joe and you can see why I love it so much. We check in July 1 earlyish and out July 4 but won't be in a hurry to leave, lol. We are then going to YC til July 9 then head home. I am going to email IPO this morning about DH and DD's bday and then contact PD for some treat ideas.

I am thinking of emailing IPO also to see about what we can do for my parent's 30th we will be celebrating there. Do they give you ideas or do you know what you are going to do already? And what is PD?

We did not do a package, but my daughter and I once had facials at the same time (in separate rooms). My DD was about 8 at the time and she really enjoyed it.
We also had manicures and pedicures together on another trip.
The CMs were always VERY sweet with my daughter.
You should go for it

rinaldimkt~Your pictures are beautiful! I have requested a castle view in Sago, so I hope I get as great a view as you have. Cannot wait to see more pictures!

clownfish~I have never done the mommy and me at the GF, but have done them at other resorts. Last summer DD and I did a mani and pedi at the spa at Wintergreen Resort and it was a blast! I am sure the GF would be even better, so I say go for it!!

Aw, Heather I bet I sounded really braggy and bratty ....I was just so happy & wanted to shout it out to other GF lovers.....I am sorry....nobody I know here gets it at all & I was trying to keep it from my girls. I don't want to make anybody feel bad. I actually sold an expensive piece of art and that is the basis for funding this crazy trip. Otherwise we probably wouldn't be going. OR staying RPC.

I know & Heather was probably just teasing, too. I just don't want to come across like like somebody I am not. It is hard to pick up a person's tone with typed messages.

I will try out that coffee maker for you. I have no idea how to even work it!! The old one scared me off, lol. Technonitwit here. My son will have to show me how to use it. I bet you just stick the cup under and press a button!!

I called GF PD.....man what a project. I was on the phone for about 45 min, got disconnected twice....had to go thru the phone cycle type thing and get back to the same CM.....she was nice but didn't know a thing about being creative or giving suggestions....I would say, "I bet you've seen some beautiful cakes for birthdays...do you have any suggestions?" Quiet dead line. OK. I finally asked to have the decorator call me back when she can!! I don't want the basic screen print I can get at Jewel or Costco, KWIM? Something special and Disneyish is what I am looking for.

I just switched our December stay over to the GF from the Polynesian. We aren't able to get RPC at this point so I took a Tower Room and requested a King Bed of course no AAA discount is available at the GF for December. Maybe something with an AP discount will be available when they release those.

Do you know if Sugarloaf has any of these Tower Rooms? Do you think I should just stick with a regular tower room and save the money? It isn't that much extra for the Sugarloaf but I have never stayed in anything but RPC.

Sugar Loaf does have the tower rooms....they are request only. I am not sure if there are 3 or 6 or them....We had the top floor that has the high sloped ceilings and it was really cute and charming but no balcony. It didn't matter because it was a cold Feb. anyway, but just so you knkow top doesn't have balconies in those tower rooms. Also, I am not sure about king beds in the tower rooms. Ours had two queens and I have only stayed in one once. Hopefully somebody else had a tower/king combo.

SL is nice, but I prefer RPC so much more. Kelly is going to check it out with me next week and see why I love it up there.

I hope something comes out with a discount for you. I can't believe I got it at this late date. I got really really lucky, I think.

The sugar loaf has 3 tower rooms and they are by request only.
I have requested one for my stay as we have 5 people and for my son.
One of them doesnt have a balcony.

If not I would try sugar loaf.
I am really looking forward to my stay and they have had good reviews lately. I hate to say it but once we started staying concierge we just go back to a regular room.
