I am having difficulty, lol. :goodvibes Especially when DH keeps talking about how he's so looking forward to the Museum of Science and Industry on his bday, (DD's too)....she is so bummed about going THERE for her birthday. I dug out a Disney "It's my birthday button" and told her to wear it at the museum to make herself feel better. :rotfl: :rotfl:

I won't mind the split stay now because we will be able to hang out in the RPC lounge 'til close to check in time at YC. I only have standard booked at YC- no concierge. I had the nicest CRO CM tonight who really helped me get what I wanted and she said there is "standard" and then "courtyard" at YC so she changed us to courtyard - it's the same price and hopefully not parking lot view. I am just afraid we aren't going to want to leave the GF once we move in, lol. It is so lovely there. NOw I need to contact IPO - you know that INTERNAL ITINERARY ONE (haha) - regarding special bday treat surprises for DD & DH. Let the fun begin.:goodvibes

I GOT ROYAL PALM FOR MY FIRST THREE NIGHTS - and at AAA rates!!!!!:woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo: :cheer2:

I am so happy at this point I could go run laps!!! ahahahaha need to work off some excess energy!!! I have been on the phone with CRO for 45 minutes waiting to speak to somebody and then feeling so nervous that it would not be available by the time somebody picked up. Not only available, but discounted. I am on cloud nine!:upsidedow :upsidedow

SOrry.....Just am too thrilled and can't jump up and down or my girls will think I lost my marbles. :rotfl: :rotfl:

So glad you got RPC and at AAA at this late in the game is unbelievable!! Hope you all have a fun birthday trip!!:wizard:

Okay, now you all are tempting me to stay at the GF for our 2 nights in August!! We were supposed to go a little thrifty on this vacation! I was able to get YC at AP rate this morning and I have it on hold!! Channing you will have to let me know how it is. I just did a standard view. I had a choice of BW,BC or YC and since we haven't done YC, i chose it. I really didn't want a studio at DVC because I loathe the pull out bed and so do the kids! I thought it might be the cheapest way to go but the AP rates at YC are comparable! We'll see what DH has to say......

Congratulations Lives4Disney on getting your favorite! Boy do I know what you mean by "let the fun begin"! I go into a blissful frenzy of activity and excitement when I have a WDW trip to plan  My husband thinks I'm totally insane :dance3:

I am still so torn - RPC is currently available for my dates with the Passholder rate. But I'd like a shot at a new room in Sago.

Thank you so much for the photo of the espresso machine lynr.

Hi k&a&c'smom :wave2: Hope all is well.

We were supposed to go thrifty, too, lol. Went from all Dolphin to SL/BC to all YC to the RPC/YC and THAT is THAT. :rotfl:

I will let you know how it goes. I have stayed waterview and standard at YC before. Request courtyard and/or gazebo view - NO parking lot!!! Hope it works for our stay. Parking lot would really disappoint me.

Johnsonet - RPC is great. The problem is once you try it, it's so hard to book anything else. You would love it. I will try and see if I can view a "new" room and if I can picture it and post it. Who knows....

Happy planning,

Lives4Disney :)

Hi there! Took hubby for a whirlwind early 40th bday trip and stayed Sago. We had a theme park view room on the third floor above those lovely hospitality suites we had talked about a while ago. AMAZING view! It was a Mr Toad room so still the old ones, even though this was Memorial Day weekend. I did feel weird about no RPC, haven't been anywhere else since a stay 5 years ago. Don't feel too bad, we did try the platinum plan and couldn't have eaten a bite in the lounge if we'd had too! Did try V& A finally (wonderful!) and Narcoosees again after 10 years---their almond cheesecake for the YOAMD is gorgeous, and delicious! If it were me, I would go RPC, espcecially with a discount! I love those deluxe RPC rooms. We are there in 15 days, I'll try to get the scoop on the new rooms---in between the vow renewal and all the family!!:rotfl:

I thought you were at the AKL? Are you now a nomad? They are saying our rooms are safe from being moved, but I'm still a little worried. happy planning! Lisa

Congrats, Channing, on nabbing RPC! I'm amazed that you were able to get AAA rate, too - guess it was just meant to be! :thumbsup2 :rotfl:

Congrats also to the above poster who just got upgraded to the GF from the AKL. I do adore AKL, but there is something equally as special (albeit different) about the GF. With your young children, I bet you guys will really enjoy the proximity to the MK, the beaches and pools, the various kids' activities, and the spaciousness of the rooms! I hope you have a fabulous trip, and ask away here if you have questions. Everyone is so helpful, and just loves the GF! :goodvibes

Now, why don't I ever get upgraded to the GF?! :confused3 :thumbsup2 :rotfl:

Hi Lisa! You are going to have an AMAZING trip.
Yes, I did give up my week at AKL b/c I had to change my dates. Never could get back in once I let that room go! Now I'm really excited about getting back to the Grand. For 5 years that was the ONLY place we stayed. Then I got so hooked on AKL.

Anyway, I hope you and your family have an amazing vacation! Don't worry about AKL. It is incredible and I know your family is going to LOVE it. And having the lounge re-located to the Presidential Suite will be fabulous!!

Hey, I'm all for anything that gets me into the Presidential Suite! I'm so glad they're not moving us. That is the end of our family trip and we are with Disney and AKL newbies so I really don't want to disappoint them. Will you be at the grand while we're there? The 10th-13th.

WTG, Channing! For those checking RPC rates, what is the AP rate for RPC? Is AAA better?

what is the AP rate for RPC? Is AAA better?

AP rate for RPC during this Value season is $560 Standard Room - Club Level; Deluxe Room - King - Club Level is $570. Plus tax.

I think Deluxes are $80 off per night w/ the Passholder discount.

I arrived June 24th 2007 and is here till the 30th. We paid for the theme park view and here are some pictures.

The first picture is of the Sago Cay and my rooms are on the second floor of this picture with the far three rooms.

This is what I can see of the Magic Kingdom from these rooms.

Hope this helps with anyone booking a Magic Kingdom view. If anyone has any picture requests about these rooms, I will be here till Saturday June 30th.

See you all later, going to MGM this morning.

Wow! You have a perfect view! good for you. Of course, you did pay for it to be that good :thumbsup2

Would you be willing at some point to post pics of your room decor? Have you stayed at the GF before? Do the furnishings seem brand new? Have you noticed scaffolding/work being done on your lodge building?

Thanks and have a great time :wizard:

Thats is so great
I have never stayed RPC maybe you could give a tour ? HEHEHE
I wish you were staying at the GF for the whole stay, are you still at the Yacht Club?

rinaldimkt, what great pictures. Thanks for sharing. Have fun at the Studios today and welcome to the GFFAQ.:cool1:

Channing, how exciting.:dance3: I'm glad you're going on your trip and that you snagged RPC.:thumbsup2 I'm envious that you're driving! I'm the only one in my family that likes that. As a result we've only done it once as a family and then only because we cancelled a spring break trip to Peurto Rico at the last moment and air fare to good old WDW was nuts by then. And one time I drove all by myself.:goodvibes Will you take 65 or 57? Have a wonderful time.

Kelly, you have a geat trip too. You must be getting so excited.:woohoo:

BCV
thanks I am. I am even more happy that Channing is gonna be around. Its like extra icing on the cake. Any other disers there during this time we coulod have a mini meet. HEHEHE
