Hi Everyone:

I am back from my fabulous birthday trip. It was truly magical from beginning to end. The weather was great, but hot!!!

The RPC staff was exceptional and our room 4021 was spectacular. This was an Octagon Honeymoon Suite with a perfect view of everything from the castle to the Polynesian. We loved this room so much I came home and tried to book it for our long trip in December, but nothing in RPC is available.

I didn't see any rennovations going on around the resort at all.

I didn't see any rennovations going on around the resort at all. I have taken a lot of pictures of the room but I can't figure out how to post them on the thread. I will try to figure it out when I have more time.

I just noticed the name plate on your door - I've never stayed in RPC, so maybe it's "business as usual", but why does the door plate say "Royal Poinciana? Is Poinciana Spanish for Palm?

If I remember correctly all rooms in RPC say Royal on the door but every floor is different I don't remember them all.

I hope you can get one of those rooms in Nov/Dec. We can't get anything in RPC at all for Dec. 9th - 16th.

This was truly our best stay in RPC yet and it truly brought us some magic that was missing on other trips.

I can't believe that Thursday morning the day we left for the trip we almost had to cancel due to a sudden illness of my Father In-law. Earlier this year he had a kidney removed due to cancer and they thought his remaining kidney was failing. Thank god it turned out that he was just severly dehydrated and the doctors advised us to go on the trip and not to worry. It only turned out to be an overnight stay.

Check-In was ok done at the regular check-in because our flight was delayed 3 hours.

The staff was great.


I didn't use the cabana this time but I used it last year and loved it. Well worth the money in my opinion.

I wanted to add if anyone is interested the two types of pillows are available in Sandy Cove and they advised me that they have plenty on hand.

Xmas at RPC books so fast and that always shocks me as it so much $$$ now
disney just keeps raising the price

isn't that the best room EVER???? too bad its a request only, or i would always book it! I had it in jan for my honeymoon and LOVED IT! it is making me sad to look at your pics, b/c i miss it so much! glad you had a great time!

Lynn, glad you had such a great birthday trip! My 40th will be in March 2009, so now I know where I want to go! Is that a regular HM room, or do you book the octagon specifically?

Marci, I'd definitely look into the sleigh ride at WL. We did the 5:30pm ride and then had dinner at WC. It was so much fun!
