Can you explain how to get from the hotel to Epcot and how long it takes to get there? I know you can use the monorail, but I think I have to take different monorails?

You take the resort monorail to the TTC. Disembark there and then switch to the Epcot monorail. There are lots of signs. It's very easy! :thumbsup2

On our first day there, I know we'll be ready to hit the parks around 4-5 pm. I want to be back at the hotel around 8 pm. I'm trying to figure out if we should just stick with the MK (even though we have 2 1/2 other days planned there) or venture out to Epcot.

I've ruled out the other two parks since the bus rides to and back could take a while....

Thoughts?

Well the way I see it best case scenario you will get about 2-2.5 hours in Epcot. Assuming that you walk out of your room at about 4 and walk out of epcot at about 7. I alloted an hour each way for travel. Depending on how long you have to wait for the monorails and to get into the park and what not. If your favorite ride is in Epcot, or there is a ride or something you are really looking forward to this would be a good chance to do so.

Yay! I just booked Bay Lake Tower, theme park view, for September. I am excited to learn all about the Contemporary.

Lisacope- If you have a chance can you copy the in room menu :) Have a great trip! Congrats on the upgrade!!

Is there a link somewhere that has prices at Contempo Cafe? I'm wondering about the breakfast menu in particular. Thanks in advance.

I am sure this is in the thread somewhere, but I cannot get the thread search to work tonight (keeps taking me to the main search page).

For the Contemporary, where do park purchases get delivered, to your room or to the gift shop? Also, what is the general delivery time frame?

Thanks

The purchase should be at the Contemp gift shop the day after you purchase it. If you are staying consierge they put it in your room.....I hope this helps:thumbsup2

Thanks Lisacope!:goodvibes

Just adding to the comment about picking up purchases you send to the Contemporary if your not staying Club Level you pick them up at the Bay View Gifts store, not at the Fantasia store.

We just upgraded to a MK view using the 4-3 promo. It seems as if the traditionally higher priced levels are now more available due to the fact that people are scooping up the lower ones to really take advantage of the savings.

We just got back from the Contemporary. Wonderful trip. Here's some observations....

We were in the tower MK view room with the 7 for 4 promo (only way I was able to experience this).

Room View: Room view was great. Would I do it again with out the discount...nope. I am glad I experienced it...but can't justify the extra money for our family since we are gone from morning til night. It is nice waking up and opening up your curtains and seeing the castle...but we are rushing in the morning to get out ...and within an hour we have a close up view. Bottom line (for us)..I would do that view again only with a decent discount.

Tower vs. Wing: Tower for us (this I can justify the extra money). I have 2 teens and a little one in a stroller. Staying in the tower gave our teens some independence. They ran downstairs, grabbed food, shopped, arcade...on their own and I was comfortable (one is 11 (pre teen other is 14). It was nice for my husband and I going on the 4th floor and take a breather for 20 minutes looking at the castle while the kids were in the room. It was also convenient with the stroller...monorail...etc.

New Contempo...our family preferred the old temporary one. My kids didn't care for it at all. They missed the grapes/cheese/crackers...that kind of stuff. My son liked grabbing a turkey sandwich out of the refrigerator then ordering something...that he really didn't want. Personally I think it would be ok if they did add some the quck things you can grab out of the refrigerator. There is definitely more room...more tables and chairs (bonus). Alot of people have issues with the ordering system..my DH hates those things LOL...so needless to say I did the ordering.

Our Room...they are still doing construction on the CR. I felt the rooms that were renovated not too long ago...are showing it's wear already. At least our room did.

Trying to think what else...oh...my husband and I was discussing once the DVC Bay Tower opens...how much extra traffic will be in the tower. Monorail crowds? Hopefully most people in the DVC building will walk to MK. By the time they walk to the monorail...they could be at the MK gates. But you will see some extra crowds on the monorail for people going to Epcot or other places.

Overall we love the Contemporary. We feel the convenience is worth it to us. My kids love the resort and aren't good with change either lol. They rather stay there then anywhere else (they never stayed anywhere else lol). They love the idea of the monorail going through the building...and they see it as the best theme because they know it was one of the first resorts there....and what can be better than the monorail zipping through.

Any questions...let me know
