Here is an odd request. I have been staying at Disney World, either the Polynesian or the Contemporary since 1976 and I used to love the park exclusive tv channel that ran a constant loop of Disney, and primarily Magic Kingdom, overviews. Does anyone else remember this? Is there any way to find an old copy of it to view?

i'm not sure if they would have this, but you can look at Mouse World Radio. They have a bunch of songs (and videos i think) so they might have that.

Good Luck in you search

Just got back from Disney yesterday. I was there with my sister and my mom. For those who read my post a couple of days ago on here, I stayed at the Contemporary from Nov 10th until Nov13th. We were suppose to have a room in the garden wing, but was upgraded to a Bay Lake Tower View on the 8th floor. Our room was near the elevator and the room number was 4411. Please feel free to ask me questions and I will try my best to answer them.

How did you enjoy staying there and besides that congragulations on the upgrade. :thumbsup2

I was there from 11/5 - 11/10, traveling alone on business. I had a South Wing room booked, and they upgraded me too! I'd only stayed at CR once, back in 1984 in the North Wing (RIP). Being in the Tower was quite a trip! I'd loved the CR ever since my first visit in '74 (we stayed at the Golf Resort and, later, the Poly, which I love as well), but my parents always wanted something "quieter." :-/

I LOVED the recent rehab. The rooms are now most comfortable. I'm not a fan of the overly-fussy decor of some of the other Deluxe Resorts (the Epcot ones, actually), and love the Contemporary's "new" look. They really did a nice job with the rehab and the decor. I have issues with the beautiful-but-unpractical bathrooms and the awkward location of the dresser drawers, but loved the comfy bed and free computer. I'd stay again in a heartbeat. In fact, I'll be returning late-March for a week to take advantage of the seven-for-four deal. The location can't be beat, and I even loved the lunch I had a the new restaurant, The Wave. Really cool bar/lounge there too. Tempo Grab 'n Go was adequate, but I realize that was temporary. And that "Monorail Tree" was waaaay cool - I want one!

Thank you for posting your review, I enjoyed reading it and it's great that you enjoyed staying there. :thumbsup2

Does anyone have any pictures of the bathroom sinks in the CR 12th floor rooms. I know I saw them somewhere on here but I don't have a lot of time to look for them. We have quite a bit of stuff and I heard that the sink area is not that big. TIA to anyone who can help.

There's a lot of pictures of the tower sinks, but nothing so far as I've seen about the atrium level.

Well, as the screen name implies, I've lurked here a while, snatching some info here and there. It is amazing the number of google searches that looped me back to this thread.

Since my upcoming vacation overlaps with CR Fan's, and he's done the grunt work on getting answers to many questions, I'll buy him a Labatts or Molson that week before Christmas on behalf of all of us who have benefitted from his hard work. Great work, eh?

I'm down at the CR 17-24 December 2008, so say hello if you see us there.

One thing that I am wanting to try this time, and consider this an open invitation for anyone down there the same week as us, is a grocery delivery service. There are several that deliver to resort hotels for a smallish fee ($15-$25 depending on how much you order.) The refillable resort mugs and lugging down to the gift shop/snack bar for marked up stuff is not too appealing. BTDT. With a refrigerator in the room, for the price of one of the mugs we can order whatever we want delivered and only pay normal grocery prices.

We used a grocery delivery service at the beach this year, and it absolutely was worth every dime and worked flawlessly.

Wife and I were considering ordering a few 12 packs of soda pop, some orange juice/capri sun type drinks, a thing of chocolate milk and then like some chips and stuff. Just some muncies for the room Seems like a small order, but if 2 or 3 rooms were thinking about a similar order we could place the order all together and save/split on the delivery charges. Just a thought.

Anyway, this trip is #6 for me, #3 with my wife and #2 with my kids and wife. We finally decided the time would never be right, the budget would never be right etc. Just pulled the trigger on going and consequences be darned. We had the kids participate in looking at the hotels online and they expressed their interests and explained why. In the end, we all decided the CR was the way to go, which finally crosses that item off my Life's to-do list. I see many other posters "finally staying at the CR" and it was heart warming to know that I'm not the only one finally living out a 25 year old dream. I don't know what it is, but for many of us this has always been a dream, and I'm tickled we finally are going to do it.

(Although Disney closed the Adventurer's Club at Pleasure Island, which should be a capital crime. I'll be angry about that for just a while longer and then bask in the glory of the CR :( )

Here's hoping the weather holds and no airlines go bankrupt.

It's good to know I'm not the only one that has had this as a life-long dream, too! Mine has been for over 30 years, ever since that first monorail ride through the Contemporary.

We still can't afford a full trip there, but I was able to get an MK-view Tower room for the 1 night I wanted it.

Once in a lifetime for us, and I'm SO excited!!! My family doesn't know yet, but the kids were just talking about which resort would be their "dream" resort, and they all settled on the Contemporary!!

Thanks to everyone on this thread for all the great info, it's really really helped with my planning!

Actually I am a guy so if can edit that I would appreciate it. Besides that hopefully I will see you around the Contemporary when we are there next month.

Does anyone know if the Olympiad Fitness Center is free for Contemporary Resort guests?

I know that the other deluxe resorts offer free membership to their resort guests, so I was just wondering if the Contemporary is the same.

Thanks!
