Hi All!

I just purchased the buy 4 nights get 3 FREE along with a 1 day ticket for 2 adults. Total Cost is $2861.96 for the concierage level on the 14th floor. My question though, is what is the difference between the 12th floor and the 14th floor concierage level? Also, does anyone know what "food" is on the menu and what are the other perks for staying here? I hope I have a good deal here!! LOL! Are there any tips or suggestions or even comments? Oh, we also will recieve a $200.00 gift card that we will put towards annual passes.

So with that said is the concierage level worth it??

Thanks all!!!:santa:

Lucky you! I still haven't quite been able to swallow that lump to go for concierge. We got the stay 4 get 3 deal w/the gift card for a 9 night MK view in January. I'm so jazzed! I've never stayed concierge personally but I'd loooove to. My understanding is that there really isn't a significant difference other than the proximity to the Concierge Lounge. There are others here who can better answer this question but off the top of my head I'm thinking I've read that there is no significant difference. And there's not a 13th floor between the 12th and 14th floors because it's bad luck. I'm excited for you! Have fun!:yay:

The major difference is the total number of rooms, their design, the lounge is smaller and you don't look down onto the 4th floor like on any of the other Tower floors.

Wow I am surprised to hear the Outer Rim won't be done until July, because it does not seem like a huge space that needs to take forever to be built.

That is what I was told, anyway!

Also, here are a couple of photos I took today - I figured you would like them (I just put up quite a few CR and Treehouse pics a few minutes ago):

I'm torn. I'm really looking forward to staying at the Contemporary, but by looking at the pics of the soda machines (thanks for posting them btw), it doesn't appear that Pibb Xtra (Mr. Pibb, whatever you want to call it) is served there. Am I correct? I saw on another thread that it's at Boma but I really wanted to stay at one of the Monorail resorts and I know the mug is only good where I'm staying. I also wanted to stay where there's an inner corridor to the rooms. Is Pibb served in any Fountain place on Contemp. Property?

Edit:

I can't answer your 2nd question and as for your last one, when the Food & Fun Center was open they had Pibb Xtra which tastes just like Dr. Pepper. I am not sure if they are using the same soda machine from the Food & Fun Center at the Tempo Grab & Go, but if they are I am sure Pibb Xtra would be on there.

I found this around page 27-28. I saw pics of 2 soda machines at the Tempo Grab and Go and from what I saw, Pibb isn't in either of them. Am I out of luck if I want to stay here? Thanks!

We took our laptop last December so we did our transferring with it. I've given what you're thinking some thought because we store all our pics on an external drive. However, my biggest fear in connecting my external drive to the room computer is any additional risk for viruses, etc. that could cause me to lose my entire drive. For that reason I still elect to bring my own laptop that I have the peace of mind knowing is well protected. As cheap as the high capacity SD cards have been getting I may just invest in a handful more of them. That way I can skip bringing my external drive which makes my carry-on gear a lot lighter and more compact. Just my thoughts. I'm pretty sure I remember seeing USB ports on the in-rooms, tho.

Have fun!!! :flower3:

I also have about a dozen SD cards and i think this is the easiest thing to do since memory is so cheap now.

I picked up a memory last year on Black Friday - it was practically free and the shelves were fully stocked in the afternoon of Black Friday - unlike all the other deeply discounted items that were sold out first thing in the morning. I'll be looking for more memory this weekend!

Sorry to hijack these are for my daughter!

Do you have any leads on where we can find cheap memory this weekend? :)

No leads, I bought memory at Target last year. Any of the mart stores, office supply places or electronics stores could very well have good deals on memory this year. I saw some good deals on memory around back to school time. I plan to read the adds Thursday, but I'm sure you can find some of the Black Friday adds online that have been "leaked" if you do a little research. If anyone finds anything, I'd love to know.

Hi Sweetpea! Thanks for the quick reply. That's great you spent the $200 gift card towards your stay at the Contemporary. I'm looking foward to staying at the Club level. I hope I have a good deal!! LOL!

Hi CR FAN! Would you mind elaborating a little bit about the number of rooms, design also you mention about looking down on the 4th floor. What does the 14th club level look at? Does it have a better view??? Also, is $2800.00 worth it for 8 days, 7 nights, $200 gift card, and it also looks like we have a $15.00 voucher for Planet Hollywood, sea-racer voucher, Planet Hollywood merchanise voucher and minature golf voucher. The price includes all taxes too. What do you all think about this price?

Thanks to all!!!

Don't go out of your way to find a deal on flash drives, places like Microcenter always have them in stock stupid cheap, and on Black Friday will have them for almost free, and you can shop on line and not have to "door bust" to save $5 each. I know Microcenter's BF flyer is on the web already.

microcenter.com/search/search_results.phtml?web_group=digital_card_memory

That might not be everything you are looking for in one link, but they have it, and usually about $8 per gig max.

I can't post a link but go to microcenter dot com and click on the flash drive memory part, or email me off list and maybe it will let me email you the complete link.

Well the 14th floor only has a total of 16 rooms, 5 being the standard rooms and the other ones being their various suites. It still comes with the Magic Kingdom or Bay Lake Views so those are the same. However the types of the foods and services you can get from the Cast Members are the same on the Atrium Club 12th floor, plus the standard rooms on the 12th floor got the full renovation and the rooms on the 14th floor got a minor renovation. Finally the rooms on the 14th floor are more expensive and I think it's because there are less guests up there when you compare it to the 12th floor.

I'm bursting and it isn't even Thanksgiving! LOL We leave in 3 days for our first ever stay at the Contemporary!!!!! :cool1:  :cloud9: :santa:

Oh my goodness, I have learned so many great things from you all and am sooooo excited for this trip!!!!

Just had to post!

I **totally** understand the need to Dr.Pepper/Mr.Pibb. My hubby is a true Texan with his addiction to the stuff. In the mornings I'm a foggy, Grumpy, mess until I have my coffee. DH is the same until he has his Dr.Pepper. LOL! One of the biggest problems we have had in the past at WDW is finding him his "fix". They used to sell bottled Mr.Pibb in the shop area by Club Cool at Epcot. We've also found Mr.Pibb in a few vending machines out by the bus depots at the parks. What we've learned to do is provide our own. Now we generally have a grocery delivery set up for our arrival day that includes the multi-packs of Dr.P bottles. We keep some chilled in our room at all times. Hubby generally drinks one in the morning and tucks a non-chilled one in the side pocket of our backpack on the way out. Usually at lunch he'll get a cup of ice and pour the Dr.P over. Then, of course, when we return to our room in the evening he'll relax with one more. It works out good for us. Plus, we don't end up limited to resorts by what drinks are on their soda fountains. It's pretty much our understanding that Disney doesn't sell Mr.Pibb anymore. Also, hubby read somewhere recently that Coca-Cola isn't going to be bottling it any longer which I thought was odd. I don't know how accurate that bit of info is. Anywhoo, that's how we survive our long WDW adventures!
