We just returned from CSR - 6 nights there and part of it for a conference. The resort grounds are beautiful and we liked Pepper Market for the most part. I requested 9b but we were but in Casita (spelling?) 3 - so we were close to the main bldg - thank goodness! I can't imagine being on the other side of that gigantic lake and having to walk to the Pepper Market with 2 little kids - ugh!

I didn't find that the internal shuttles ran all that often. Most of the ones that passed us were full when we wanted a ride. We rode on them twice in 6 days I think. We also had a waterview room booked and had a very lovely view....of a TREE! I can honestly say you couldn't see a bit of water out the window but you could see a very large leafy tree top! They really shouldn't sell those rooms as water-view. We checked in at 4 a.m. (long story- delayed flight) so I didn't notice until the next morning when we were half-unpacked with stuff all over (we have 2 young kids). I didn't want to move at that point. I shouldn't have to move! Who wants to move? I just wanted what I paid for - that was annoying but I figured if I moved I'd end up at the farthest possible point from the main building :earboy2:

CSR = a nice resort, lovely grounds, great convention center, good food but just too big and not enough shuttle service for us I think!
You should have complained. If you paid for a waterview, then you deserved to get a waterview room. Maybe when the resort opened the tree was small enough but now needs to be trimmed, removed or the room needs to be reclassified.

Thanks to this helpful thread we will now be staying at CSR Oct. 2 -9th with the free dining plan :cool1: I had reserved PC, but my TA was able to transfer my reservation for me. Please tell me I made the right decision lol It is just myself & 2 ds age 11 & 8. I have only stayed onsite twice & that has been at PC. I am excited about the change but at the same time I am nervous. I know my way around PC, this will be new territory :goodvibes I requested Cabana 9a or 9b, so we will see what happens. I look forward to hearing more reports of those just returning. Anyone else staying here during the same time frame?

My kids are the same ages, and they are excited as well. My 11 is very active, so the walk if any will be fine for him. We also have stayed at PC, so I hope it won't be such an adjustment. The pool is what really sold us.

CSR is a great resort. Just a reminder that cabana 9a is smoking optional so make sure you request a non-smoking room.

When I showed ds 8 the slide in the pool that was it for him lol

When I showed my BF who is 25 the slide in the pool that was it for HIM!!!
:rotfl: (I guess they never grow up!)

Thank you! I am looking forward to having a fridge in the room as well. We will be flying in, so now I will not have to worry about buying a cooler for our stay. Do these have a freezer in them? Also I thought I had read that the rooms have ceiling fans? This would be great!

Many adults use the slide at CSR. It's funny to watch them go down the slide and into the pool.

No freezer in any of the fridges. Yes, the rooms have a ceiling fan and central air.

Oh well I am happy just to have the fridge :goodvibes Thanks for your quick replys!

I posted a few times on this thread a while ago - asking what section I should request in CSR. After hearing different thoughts, and getting more confused, :confused3 I have just decided to take what I get - I imagine any place at this resort will be wonderful. Thanks for all the info though.

Depends what you are looking for

Cabana 9b is close to bus stop 1 and the main building with a short walk to the Dig Site over the wooden bridge. Most preferred location.

Cabana 8a is close to the Dig Site and bus stop 4 with a short walk to the main building. Some rooms within steps of the Dig Site.

Cabana 8b and 9a are inbetween the 2 above. cabana 9a has a quiet pool. cabana 9a also has smoking optional rooms so make sure you are clear as to what you will accept.

Cabana rooms are mostly waterview rooms or non parking lot views.

Rancho 7b has a quiet pool, is close to the Dig Site and bus stop 4 with a bit longer walk to the main building. 7b is behind cabana 8a. rancho 6b is also fairly close to the main pool area.

Casita 4 is close to the gym, spa and has quiet pool. THe casitas have great fountains and courtyards. casita 5 is close to the Dig Site with a good walk to the main building. The lower the casita number the closer towards the main building.

Has anyone ever rented the pedal boats? Do you need to reserve these in advance? Also my boys want to fish, just curious if anyone has done this as well. Thanks for any help!

Anyone :confused3

Originally we were going to be flying into Sanford & I was going to get a Towncar. I booked another flight yesterday & will be flying into MCO now & using ME transportation. So now no grocery stop, my question is how expensive is the milk & bottled water here? This is basically all I was planning on buying at the grocery stop(the rest I will bring in the carry on). Can lighters be purchased here? I know at PC they sold lighters(I did not buy one but the person ahead of me did), wasn's sure if all resort gift shops did or not.

Well I was thinking maybe taking a cab to Walmart or someplace nearby, but I do not want to spend alot on that either. Has anyone taken a cab & could give me an idea of cab fare?

You should make you requests at the time you call for your reservation or tell your travel agent.
