Hello All!

I will be @ CSR next Friday for 5 days. I have stayed before and I must say my DN and sister absolutely loved it! Especially the pool. We stayed in Cabana 8A corner room and it was perfect for us. I have requested same this time...I have to admit it was difficult to get the reservations for July as they were booked solid. I called on a whim this morning and lo and behold...they had a room! I immediately cancelled PORFQ and snapped up the space at CSR. I am not telling the family...just going to surprise them...as my DN thinks she is getting a 'cheesy slide" @ PORFQ....lol....ie..a little kids slide..she will be thrilled! :cheer2: And know what? I will be thrilled to see her face....something like the thrill I get when I look at her face in the Magic Kingdom...ahhhhhhhhh Disney Magic!! Nothing like it!

Thanks for the convention info Buzz2001! I didn't even think about doing a google search! ;)

Thanks to you and everyone who has posted on this thread for all of the great info!

It is so hard to decide on where to stay at WDW--too many great choices!

I'm going to have my mom look over the many pictures posted here and on the allears site and have her make the decision since it's her first time in WDW and we will be celebrating her 70th birthday.

I do have a couple of questions about the decor/bedding at CSR...

The pictures that I have seen on allears make the rooms seem kind of dark and the bedspreads are kind of "loud" (if you know what I mean... :teeth: )

1. Are the beds comfy and are the bedspreads "loud" colors?

2. Are the rooms dark?

3. Have any of the sections gone through recent remodels?

Thanks!

1. The beds are very comfy, and I wouldn't necessarily call the colors of the bedspreads "loud", but definitely colorful and fun! :flower: They get you more in the tropical vacation mood. I think the colors are also a little less bright in the ranchos.

2. I have been in 5 different rooms at CSR (all Cabanas), and only 1 of them was dark. It was also on the north side of the building, so that probably explains the darkness! We stayed in a corner room, and it was probably the brightest. :sunny:

3. Sorry, I don't know about any remodeling. I do know that the hotel is pretty new (newest of all the moderates), and did not notice any rooms in need of remodeling.

The pics on allearsnet are old. They no longer have those bedspreads. I have pics on my site below of the new cabana room colors. First pic on the top

They got new beds during the remodel. They are comfy, tall and not as loud as they used to be.

no

They just completed remodeling CSR last year.

I agree with the others on the comfy beds. I had horribly hard queen beds at AKL and BCV. Nothing like the comfy ones at CSR. I have a feeling Disney is using a different brand of queen matresses at the deluxes than the doubles at CSR. Perhaps that is what is making the difference.

This is truly a great resort. My wife and I were down this past May and there was a military type convention there, including helicopters and other vehicles like that. I thought it was nice that the resort warned us in advance that there would be some traffic in the parking lot on the day a majority of the convention "products" came in. Also, LOVE the Pepper Market!! I would definitely go back!! :cool1:

I also found this conference:

International Visual Literacy Association Conference
October 17-20
(This is associated with the AECT Int'l Convention listed above)

Buzz2001:

Thanks again for the info! I love your website! I haven't taken the time to look at every picture yet ;)

It's good to know that the beds are comfy...nothing worse than sleeping on a hard bed for 7 nights!

are the king beds comfortable too. I don't think that the beds at the polynesian were that comfortable last year.

I'm over the moon! Our hotel is paid in full! Coronado Springs, here we come. :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:

And Buzz, you rock.

That is all.

Hi can you tell me if there is a fridge in the room, or is that extra? Thanks for the reply in advance

Also is there a direct bus that goes to Typhoon Lagoon, or do you have to take the downtownbus and transfer? I don't really understand this part.

Yes there is a mini dorm sized fridge in the room. There is a bus to Typhoon Lagoon but it also stops at Downtown Disney.
