Thanks Tink!

I look forward to staying at CSR, like most with kids, I'm just hoping for the best site location...I request the Cabanas 9A or 8B but the CM said they couldn't guarantee anything when I booked this last week and now I saw a post that said CSR is all booked for the week we'll be there...I just don't want to be too far from everything.

Any suggestions on getting a CM to commit to an actual room or, at least, building?

I always used to fax requests to CSR, 4 days before my arrival. It is technically against Disney policy, so it may not do any good. But on my last trip (May 2004) I sent a fax telling the room assigner at CSR that it was a trip to celebrate both of my parents turning 50 that year, which it was. And that we would like a room in Casitas 1 or 3, 2nd floor and asked if there was anything special they could do for their b-days.

When we got to CSR we were told our room was ready (this was at about 1:30) that it was Casitas 1, 2nd floor, with an upgrade to waterview. We were thrilled. We arrived at the room and realized it was a corner room (2 sets of windows) that was as close as you can get to El Centro and the Pepper Market and had a beautiful view across the Lago Dorado to the Dig Site pool area. When we got inside there were three balloons, a card signed by Mickey and Minnie wishing my parents Happy Birthday and this beautiful wooden photo box (which we later found in The World of Disney for $30!) The CMs at CSR went above and beyond and it made our stay so magical.

I've heard the fax requests are no longer being honored. If that's true then I wouldn't want to "upset the apple cart", but if you think they are still considering the fax requests, then I'll send one. Can you provide me the fax number? Unfortunately, there's really no special occasion for us (just convenience), so that may not apply.

Although, it was nice to hear how Disney was able to accomodate your special occasion!

CSR Fax - 407-939-1001

Go ahead and fax your request 4 - 10 days before you arrive. (A CM from CBR on another thread said they now get res info 10 days ahead, and usually block rooms 4 days in advance.) Be polite and grateful. You've got nothing to lose!!

I'll send a fax then, as we're going to celebrate my 21st (for the 19th time  ) and our 15th wedding anniversary. I think it can't do any harm to ask.

I sent a fax and we got exactly what we'd asked for which was great as I'd had to send the fax about 2 weeks before we arrived due to our itinary :flower:
Good luck.

Thanks to everyone for all of the great information. I am booking CSR for our Sept. trip. I just have a couple questions.

Is there a spot for cane pole fishing at CSR?
It seems like I read somewhere a while ago that they stock a sand box in the Dig site area with stuff for kids to find or excavate. Is that true?
Have any of the cabana buildings been renovated?

Thanks for your help!

I did it! It's taken me three days, but I've read the entire thread.

First I'd like to thank Buzz, Tink and epcotfan for all the hard work they have put into making sure we have latest information regarding CSR.

DH and I are having our first trip on Disney property starting Thanksgiving Day and we're booked into Coronado Springs for two whole weeks! The AAA discount saved us $450 over rack rates on a king bed room. I made a request for a non-smoking, quiet room at the Casitas. But as long as it is a non-smoking room, I'm sure we'll be thrilled no matter where we are assigned.

It is going to be a wonderful trip and I can't wait to soak up all the romance and atmosphere at Coronado Springs.

Andrabell,
You'll love CSR. We were there for a week last September and are going back there in June and September. We will be at Disney in March, but couldn't get a king room at CSR, had to settle for CBR. We like CBR, but not as much as CSR!!

Love your Johnny Damon picture!! We are going to see the Sox play two spring training games this month before we head to Disney for 4 days

Has anyone else noticed that there seem to be two different versions of the CSR resort map on the web? One shows section 9E closest to the El Centro, the other one shows section 9B closest to El Centro. Also the bus stop at El Centro on the 9E one is right off of El centro, while the other resort map shows bus stop one next to the convention center. Does anyone out there know which map is current? Thanks!

:cool1: i asked this question a couple weeks ago and i also seen someone else ask the same question--neither of us got a reply :bitelip: hopefully someone out there who has recently returned can help us out..thanks

I'm not a CSR expert and I've only stayed there once, but I believe the Cabanas are 8A, 8B, 9A, and 9B. (And the Casitas are 1-5, and the Ranchos are 6A, 6B, 7A, and 7B.) I've never seen anything different. Correct me if I'm wrong....

I've stayed at CSR many times and ii'm 99% sure that the newer map is the one listing 9E as being closest Cabana to El Centro. It appears that CSR has divided the building into sections, wheras each building used to have a single number, or number letter combo, now they appear to be broken down. if you look at the Castias section there is 1A 1B 1C and 1D...all of that used to be 1, so they've just divided everything down a bit more. I'd look at the map with 9E as the current one.

I just got my PassPorter and I'm annoyed by the review of Coronado Springs. They only give it 6/10 for magic. That has made me lose respect for the book and makes me want to stay as CSR even more, so when I return I can say ****, we LOVED it!

Does anyone know the location of the wheelchair access. rooms?

Whenever I read negative reviews about CSR I just think to myself, no problem, more availability for those who truly love it!!!

Most dischuffed with the 9B/9E debate as I've just faxed asking for 9b!!!!

We asked for, and got 9b.
It was pretty central for the buses and pool and just a short walk to the dining areas and reception.
