My DH and I will be arriving at WDW two or three nights before the rest of the family gets there from Ohio, when we will all be staying at Shades of Green. There are some things the two of us want to do like eat dinner at Boma and perhaps see Cirque du Soleil. Would CSR be a good choice? We stayed at Port Orleans years ago and really enjoyed it, but are interested in trying something new.

Thank you buzz2001...the pictures are great, very helpful, but I still can't decide!

:Pinkbounc Thanks for this fantastic site .

My family and I are going for the first time to Disney world and will be staying at the Coronado Springs. My question is about the fridges, are they in all rooms or do you have to request them( at a charge i suppose) also are there only fans in the rooms .I am thinking that it will be very hot without air conditioning in July
Please any information will be helpful.
Thanks cjaycy

Hi there cjacy

From what I've read in recent reports, all the moderates and deluxes are getting fridges in them! (yay!!) and if there isn't on in your room on arrival then mousekeeping can bring one and there will be no charge as it is a new free option!

As far as fans/airconditioning goes. All Disney Resorts have airconditioning :) It would be unbearable in Florida in July without it hehe. There are ceiling fans also

Hope this helped you out! Enjoy youur trip

I'm even more impressed with this site now as i've just read your answer. This is my first time on one of these sites and i'm not sure how to set up a profile , all the other messages look so nice any tips on how to do it.
Thanks cjaycy

Buzz2001,

Your website has such beautiful pictures of CSR that it got me researching Mexico/Cancun Vacations. I almost feel funny writing this but I think I'm gonna skip Disney this summer and make my way to Cancun.

Thank you for great pictures. While looking on Cancun vacation sites it looks like Disney did a good job at making things look authentic. I even came across a room that looked just like the casitas section rooms.

We just booked out trip to WDW for Oct. 05 we will be staying at CSR and are really looking forward to it. We loved the architecture of the missions in San Diego and this resort reminds us of them. :dancer: :dancer:

Just a few more days until my first stay at this resort. This thread was a huge help in deciding where to stay. Thanks for the all the effort.

Well I did it, I made the June 7th to 16th reservation after some prodding by you folks on these and other sites. Still hope to get a discount for our trip. Looking forward to staying at CSR because it is the only moderate that we have not visited. On one of the many days on our itinerary that we have built in for my husbands relaxation I may even treat my daughter to some type of spa treatment. Looking forward to additional tips concerning this resort that anyone can provide. I am not beneath stealing (cutting/pasting) ideas into the planner that I have been creating.

We were there last June. Make sure you have some sort of shoe to walk to the pool. Concrete gets very hot. Have a great trip!

cabana 9b is close to bus stop 1 and the main building with a short walk to the Dig Site over the wooden bridge

cabana 8a is close to the Dig Site and bus stop 4 with a short walk to the main building.

cabana 8b and 9a are inbetween the 2 above.

Cabana rooms are mostly waterview rooms or non parking lot views.

ranchos 7b has a quiet pool, is close to the Dig Site and bus stop 4 with a bit longer walk to the main building. 7b is behind cabana 8a.

The casitas are close to the gym, spa and have great fountains and courtyards. casita 5 is close to the Dig Site with a good walk to the main building. The lower the casita number the closer towards the main building.

Thanks for all the information. I did request cabana 9b but since we have requested a special needs room they kept mentioning the casita's. I really wish the rancho's were not so far away from the foodcourt because the theming is so wonderful. Husband is mobility challenged, not enough to use a wheelchair at home but it would be a mucher happier vaction if he used one at DW even though he won't. I did not want him walking far at the resort too so they suggested that he be given a special room. Since I asked for a standard view I suppose that the casita's are going to be our buildings.

Well, we are currently booked at POP Century for this May. We really love it there - have been there twice in the last 6 months. Our May trip is sort of a spur of the moment decision that we'd love to spend our 5th Wedding Anniversary at WDW. I'm starting to wonder if we should stay somewhere new & make our trip a little more special. I've looked into Coronado & Caribbean Beach in the past & like both resorts (I think I'm leaning more towards Coronado right now ;) .)

This is a great thread & I plan on reading as much as I can tonight at home - but, we have a question I'd love to get answered soon. How is the transportation at Coronado? I believe they have internal bus stops (as does the Caribbean Beach) - how many does Coronado have? Do you have time estimates on how long it takes to get to each park from Coronado? Does it take very long to stop at all the internal stops?

Thanks so much for any info!! :)

I tried to phone CSR to check if they had details of our special requests (non-smoking room, plus my xxth birthday ( :bday: ) and our 15th wedding anniversary :bride: :groom: ), but the CM said she couldn't check any details as we'd booked through a travel agent rather than direct with Disney. This seems a bit odd, as how can they allocate rooms if they can't check who is coming to use them? :confused3

I want to request non-smoking room in cabana 9b (if possible) and make sure they know about our two special events (just in case they feel inspired to offer freebies - what chance, anyone know?)

My birthday is just before we go, but we're saving the celebrations til then  - will they care? Or check my passport?

It would really help if someone has an e-mail address for CSR - I've got a couple of days off work just before we go so won't have easy access to a fax.

One other thing - I'm sure I saw some food outlet does a kids meal that comes in a souvenir bucket with spade - but now I can't find it despite trawling the allears board. Any ideas??

I'm getting really excited now

You or your Travel Agent needs to make requests through CRO (Central Reservations Office 407-W-DISNEY, not through the Resort) Your reservation won't be downloaded to the resort's actual computers until close to the time you check in. CRO handles everything to do with reservations.

Again CRO needs to handle it

On our last few vacations we've been asked for photo ID checking in. I doubt they will be looking at your birthdate. Just to ensure you are the right person checking in. Please don't get your hopes up on the resort doing anything special. On our last 20 or so vacations we've only had birthday greetings once at Disney.

It would really help if someone has an e-mail address for CSR - I've got a couple of days off work just before we go so won't have easy access to a fax.
You won't be able to do anything to your reservation via email. You or your travel agent must call CRO to have requests listed with your reservation

I remember the Caribbean Beach Resort used to have this for children. Not sure if it is still available

I'm getting really excited now
Have a great trip!

I will be visiting CSR in April , and was wondering how the resort is for young kids? I have 2 DD 13 & 2 and a DS 11. I am sure my older kids will have fun (they always seem to find it) but I am a little worried about my little one. I keep hearing that CSR is not very Disney, but I want to make this a fun trip for her. I know she is only 2 but she lovessssss The Disney Princesses. I booked the char. meals and have even purchased the princess dresses for her, but I am looking for a little more to do. I was wondering if anyone know of anything EXTRA-Special that would make this trip outstanding for all of my DK's? Like, is there a way to get my kids into the parade at the parks???? Really anything super special??? I have read this board and will use many thing from it but I need that one special thing. Please help.......
