The *NEW* Coronado Springs FAQ Thread

I am very glad to have found this forum (thanks google, such a wonderful thing). Am planning a trip to Disney in early May, taking advantage of the at-par with Visa thing. With the exchange rate the way it is, it's a good way to save my Canadian dollars. Is CS part of this package?? Have seen people say that the discounts here were few and far between. But after reading everyones opinions, and checking out the many web-sites dedicated to this resort (thanks guys), I would like to be able to stay here, rather than CBR. Any help would be appreciated!!

DOH!! After reading about 20 pages, and not seeing my question answered, I jumped to the last page and posted. Didn't see TinkerBelle_325's post about doing the same thing.

Walking Distances
From El Centro moving clockwise around the lake path to:
Casitas 3 = .16 miles
Casitas 4 = .24 miles
Casitas 5 = .27 miles
Ranchos = .46 miles

From El Centro to the Dig Site, via the bridge near the Cabanas
= .35 miles

From El Centro moving counterclockwise around the lake to:
Cabanas 9B = .16 miles
Cabanas 9A/8B = .22 miles
Cabanas 8A = .31 miles

OR

Take the bus instead of walking
Theme park buses go:
2 - Casitas
3 - Ranchos
4 - Cabanas
1 - El Centro

Downtown Disney buses, as well as Park Exit buses go:
1 - El Centro
2 - Casitas
3 - Ranchos
4 - Cabanas

CSR buses go in this order so that guests can hop on board a theme park bus and take it to the main building. They can then hop on a DTD bus to get back to their rooms.

Refillable mugs at CSR-when you eat in Pepper Market do you take the mugs and hand to whoever is serving you drinks? I know-stupid but just trying to understand the process so we don't look like idiots. Any info-appreciated.

Last time we were there - there was a beverage station where you walked up and prepared your own beverage. (sort of looked like the beverage stations in some of the fast food restuarants where you prepare your own drinks and refills i.e. Mcdonalds, Taco Bell etc,) You can get your ice, soda, coffee and tea right there and off to the side were the straws, cream and sugar etc if I remember correctly.

The only thing strange and different about this resort is if you were going in just to get refills and not to purchase any additional items, you need to get a "pass" where you walk in which you will hand in at the exit. I guess this is some sort of "security" which stops people from possibly eating and then leaving without paying by saying that they were just getting a refill.

Everyone, correct me if I am wrong or if they have changed the system.

sacandjac,
you can go and refill your mugs yourself, but every time we've been here, the person who took us to be seated asked if we would like our mugs filled, and did this for us, or after we sat for just a quick minute another cm came over and asked if we'd like them filled. :D
hope this helps

Thanks for the information!!! Just what I needed to know. :bounce: 28days before we are in the world!!:bounce:

Hi everyone....Well a lot of my questions have been asked here, but I do have a couple. On the king bed room issue, are there king bedrooms that have connecting rooms, and are they are king/king connecting rooms or king/doubles? My hubby and I are looking at options for a trip maybe later this year, and still want a little privacy from the kids. So now we've added CSR to our list of 'possibles'.:)
Also, are there accessible power outlets in the room. We had a problem with finding outlets in our Swan room in '97, and we are thinking about bringing along our usual fan (gotta have that white noise) and a small portable car type fridge.
Thanks for any answers in advance.

I'm trying to find a way to stay in a WDW resort from 4/27/04-5/3/04. I'd like to try the AKL or, even more, the WL, but it still may be out of our budget even with a possible AP rate coming out. DH definitely does NOT want to stay in a VALUE resort (too small). I was thinking that the Jr. Suite at CSR may be a good deal if split the cost with 2 other friends, meaning 4 people to the Jr. Suite.

Has anyone stayed in CSR Jr. Suite?
Is it suitable for 4 adults?
Any pics?
How big is it?
How many bathrooms?
Where is this suite located (like to be closer to the main building and dining area)

I'm trying to convince DH to get an AP so we can stay at WL or a mod. We going to WDW for a paintball tourney. I know I have a lot of questions, but any info will help--Disney's site was useless to me  .

Suite Disney and Epcotfan's site both have pictures of suites. You can link to these sites from my web page below

We are staying here in March. I have booked a waterview room. My kids like the looks of the Ranchos. (walking isn't a problem for us, if fact my older son is a cross country runner!) Are any of the Ranchos waterview or just poolview? Trying to decide which building to request!

just booked for 2 nights .. traveling party inlcudes Me (33) my mom (53) DD(10) and DS(8) .. we will be spending a good part of our time at the pool. should we request Cabana's 9b / 9a ? Thanks Michelle

oh my ~ I just booked my 4 night stay before our 3 night Disney cruise today! I am so excited.....this place looks fabulous.....
I did get a AAA rate and paid for the king bed. I requested the cabanas section but don't know if I will get that.....here's hoping!

Ok ~ now I have a few questions.....

when I booked I paid extra for a king room....am I guaranteed that? If I don't get a king bed will I be refunded the difference? I think I left my confirmation paper at work so I can't remember exactly how it was worded but my options were the 122.40 standard room or the 135.15 king *non guaranteed view* (I think that is what the CM called it) room......so I asked if that could be the same view as the standard and she said yes....which is fine as long as we have the king bed. So I booked the 135.15 room....the only two requests I made were the crib and the cabanas section......

....can anyone tell me how many kings are located in each section? I hate to be pushy and call back to request things but what are my chances of getting the cabanas?

also when you pull up....do they help you with luggage? do they take it to your room or do you take it? what about tipping?

lillygator-you are going to love CSR:D sorry i can't help much with your king bed request, but if you paid for this i would think they would have to grant your request or refund the difference::yes:: i do know that when you drive up bell services will take your luggage if you want them to and hold onto it until you are finished checking in. they will then take you and your family in a little cart with your luggage to your room. i thought this was fun, and they pointed out where things were along the way:D most posters seem to tip $1-$2 a bag. hope this helps:D
