Some friends of mine will be visiting WDW for the 1st time in late July and are staying @ CSR. They have 2 DS ages 8 & 6. I looking for suggestions for room requests. What location? (I know they will want to be near the pool) possibly close to transportation. How do they go about making a room request for CSR? Thanks for your help!

Does either the Pepper Market and/or the Maya Grill have high chairs? Our DD will be almost 18 months when we go, so I'm just making sure it won't be a problem finding her a place to sit.

Thanks!
Tina :D

Hi Tina - Yes they do have high chairs

Hi hmwnick - the cabanas are close to the main pool and transportation. If you lucky enough to get 9b, you'll be close to the main pool, bus and main building. 8a is close to the main pool and bus with a medium walk to the main building. 8b and 9a and in between the 2 that I mention above.

I'm getting a little worried - we usually stay at PO FQ because of the size but we're now going to CS because of the refurb work at PO. I was going to request the Cabanas but we love the look of the Ranchos, the problem is I keep reading things about CS being such a huge resort and how people don't like the walking. When we stay at POFQ we usually walk to PORS every evening just for the fun of it and finish with a drink at the bar there, if we were to stay in the Ranchos is the walk comparable to POFQ to PORS? Very roughly how long walk it take us to walk - 10 mins? Thanks.

Yes - 10 mins is a good estimate. You can hop a ride from the golf carts CM's use to bring guests to there rooms. They offer all the time or you can use the buses.

Theme park buses go:
2 - Casitas
3 - Ranchos
4 - Cabanas
1 - El Centro

Downtown Disney buses, as well as Park Exit buses go:
1 - El Centro
2 - Casitas
3 - Ranchos
4 - Cabanas

CSR buses go in this order so that guests can hop on board a theme park bus and take it to the main building. They can then hop on a DTD bus to get back to their rooms.

Thank you - 10 minutes is perfect, from what others have said I was imagining a 20 min walk at least!

From El Centro moving clockwise around the lake path to:
Casitas 3 = .16 miles
Casitas 4 = .24 miles
Casitas 5 = .27 miles
Ranchos = .46 miles

From El Centro to the Dig Site, via the bridge near the Cabanas
= .35 miles

From El Centro moving counterclockwise around the lake to:
Cabanas 9B = .16 miles
Cabanas 9A/8B = .22 miles
Cabanas 8A = .31 miles

Whoa, Buzz2001! Thank you for those distances! That is so helpful. What I'm wondering: Is it easier and faster to get to the Dig Site from Casitas 2 because it's closer to the bridge or from Casitas 5 because you are farther around the circle? I can't really picture where the bridge is. Thanks, if you can help with that.

Awesome thread!... and I can't believe I just spent the last hour reading all 24 pages! LOL!

After a LOOOOOOOOOOOOONG debate I think we've decided to spend our honeymoon here.

Anyone have a site that lists upcoming conventions at the CSR?

Also, being from Texas the decor of the Ranchos and Cabanas doesn't appeal to me much because I see it everyday... but I'm absolutely in love with the Casitas. I would love to have a room overlooking a fountain... anyone know what building(s) overlook fountains? I also want a king bed room though, do any of those overlook fountains or do all the king rooms face pools/lake?

Thanks!

ok... after studying maps and pictures from disneypix and everyone's personal websites... it it safe to say casitas 2 & 3 face the lion fountain? If so, I may request for that...

I'm still curious though if any of the king bed rooms will face this.

:bounce: LOL... yes I'm still here... welcome to the world of unemployment.

Is there a hair wrap station? Is it open year round or only the summer time?

Hubby2b keeps teasing me, because I want to do so much stuff that my mother never let me do when she used to take me to Disney (hair wraps, mouse ears, stuffed animals, etc...).:p

How funny! I wanted to request one of those very rooms-first foor, facing lion fountains. Dh and I will probably go back for our anniversary.I want to try POR, but it probably won't be open.

Yes there is a hair wrap station at the main pool area but it is not open 7 days. I forget which days it is open

Thanks for the info! :teeth:

We talked it over and we've definitely decided on CSR! I will probably make ressies this week!

:bounce: :Pinkbounc :bounce:

I know this was asked many, many pages back ;) but does anyone know if you can use the microwave in the food court for your own things (like microwave popcorn I bring from home, not buy there in the food court, or to heat up leftover pizza, etc)

I'm glad I found this thread! We will be arriving Wednesday (in 2 days), my mom is in Orlando and is considering joining us. She has a back condition and it is difficult for her to walk long distances, she'll be renting a motorized chair at the parks. My question is - is there an area of the hotel that would be better for her?

Thanks so much!

Cabana 9b is very close to everything.
