Okay, here is something I don't know. Can you get skim milk with a refillable mug? I usually get it at the grocery store but someone asked me and I didn't know. TIA!!

Buzz, I am humbled. something you don't know. I need a moment to recover. You have been a savior in converting me to CS. I love this resort now and thanks you keep finding out great things. (not that I'm a skim milk fan) :-)

Buzz2001: Hi there! I have a question for you since you seem to be the go to person for CSR and I have never been there.

We are in the process of planning a Ladies-Only DIS trip to WDW Sept. 28 thru Oct. 2. As of right now we have not picked a resort, but it seems as though most of the ladies are leaning towards a moderate and I personally like the looks of CSR.

If by chance we end up there, where would you recommend for a large group (right now there are 27 signed up with another 17 undecided) to stay? The cabanas, ranchos, or casitas? Or would it not really matter?

And being a "convention" resort when there is a convention going on how does that affect the crowds there? Or is it a big enough place that it really doesn't?
Sorry if all these questions are answered somewhere in this thread. It's so huge, I can't look through it all.

Someone posted a link to your website in our trip planning thread over on the CB and so I briefly looked that over before I found this thread. I want to go back and look at everything in more detail as soon as I can. Seems like a great website with wonderful pictures. :thumbsup2

One more thing, does anyone have any hints for getting a good room rate at this place. I called Leisure Group at WDW and for our dates they quoted me $120 a night (plus tax) per room. Is that good?

Well, thanks in advance for any help you or anyone else can offer. And even if we don't end up staying there this time around it is on my list of must stays for the future. :sunny:

If by chance we end up there, where would you recommend for a large group (right now there are 27 signed up with another 17 undecided) to stay? The cabanas, ranchos, or casitas? Or would it not really matter? Cabana 9b is close to bus stop 1 and the main building with a short walk to the Dig Site (main pool) over the wooden bridge. (Most convenient location and most preferred)

Cabana 8a is close to the Dig Site (and playground) and bus stop 4 with a short walk to the main building. (Closest to the Pool)

Cabana 8b and 9a are in between the 2 above. (9a has a quiet pool and is also a smoking optional building)

Ranchos 7b has a quiet pool, is close to the Dig Site and bus stop 4 with a bit longer walk to the main building. 7b is behind cabana 8a.

Casita 3 has great courtyard and fountain views but you will have to walk or ride the internal shuttle to get to the pool.

Casita 5 has some nice fountain and lake views and is close to the Dig Site but farther from the main building.

CSR's new internal shuttle system can also assist you in getting to and from the main building to your village.

And being a "convention" resort when there is a convention going on how does that affect the crowds there? Or is it a big enough place that it really doesn't? Being a convention resort helps because it keeps the buses and pools less crowded since convention guests are in meetings during the day.

CSR has 220,000 sq feet of convention space. I'm sure they can acommodate your party of 23. They also have some nice private patios that would work as well.

Thanks for the info.

I was told we are too large to book as a magical gathering. For groups needing 10 rooms or more they transfer you to Leisure Group Sales. That is where I recieved that price quote.

WHAT YOU CAN GET IN A MUG

Sadly milk is not an option! You can get tea, coffee and the various sodas. We bought milk for our boys in the main gift shop as they sell bigger cartons there - the little shop by Pepper Market only sells single serving cartons as its aimed at people buying box lunches. We didn't find out about the bigger cartons for a couple of days :sad2: but when we did we found we could also get large bottles of water and OJ and big boxes of donuts and cookies - so that was the end of cooked breakfast onsite!

We are going April 1-7th. :cool1: If we want to be at the parks 30 min before opening, what time do we need to catch a bus? We do not plan on doing any early entries/emh, rather just enter right on time :coffee: . THANKS!!!! :thanks:

I attended a convention at CSR and fell in love with it. Now that my son was in his teens it was ideal to get 2 rooms so that we could have our own room and he and a friend another. He especially likes the weight room. Our budget does not include 2 rooms at a deluxe resort but the CSR fills all our needs nicely. Your website has absolutely gorgeous pictures! Thank you

Here is the WDW Bus Schedule. I would plan on catching the first bus of the morning. The buses start 1 hour prior to the park opening.

It's not a great quote. They took off about 15%. I had read about the ladies only event awhile back & didn't realize it's a go. Could you please give me the link from the boards? I'd love to join everyone.

WDW BUS SCHEDULES

We will be staying at CSR (mostly because of this site and Buzz!) during April. Are there any parks that you would drive to instead of taking the bus? We will have a rental car. Thanks

DtD is the only place I may drive, other than that, I always use the buses at CSR.

Review from mousesavers.com!!

Coronado Springs is my Best Value choice in the Moderate category. It has several advantages compared with the other Moderate resorts. It is newer, so there has been less wear-and-tear on everything. Also, Coronado Springs is a convention hotel, so it has a few extra amenities not offered at the other Moderates, including a salon, a health club and a more upscale food court.

The theming is radically different in the three areas of Coronado Springs. You can request a specific area when booking but there is no guarantee you'll get your request.
  • The Spanish-style Casitas at Coronado Springs are very peaceful, with courtyards featuring tiled fountains. Casitas Buildings 1, 3 and 2 (in that order) are the closest to the restaurants and services. Casitas Building 4 contains the salon and health club, if those are important to you.
  • The Cabanas at Coronado Springs have a beachy Caribbean feeling. Cabanas Building 8A is very close to the feature pool, which may be a blessing (convenience) or a curse (noise, light). Cabanas Building 9B is closest to the marina and relatively convenient to the restaurants and services.
  • The Ranchos at Coronado Springs feel quiet and secluded -- some would say isolated -- and feature desert landscaping and pueblo-style architecture. They look closest to the main pool on a map, but in actuality they are separated from the rest of the property by a swamp, so it can be a fairly long walk from these buildings to the pool, and a very long walk to the restaurants.
