I don't like snakes. Period. End of discussion.
Right up the road from us is Clyde Peeling's Reptiland. Where did my daughter want her birthday party? Yep, Reptiland.
I stayed in the restaurant area preparing the snacks, food, etc while the kids took the tour of the snakes, gators, etc. I don't like snakes.

That said, I really enjoyed CSR. In Central Florida there could be snakes or gators anywhere. DD spotted one outside of WL's Roaring Forks! Still, I felt "safe" at CSR. I totally understand your Mom's issue with snakes, but CSR is still "safe" in my mind.

I'm sure this is posted somewhere in here, but...Where are the two spa's located? I know one is at the main pool. I can't seem to locate the other on the map.

CSR has only one hot tub. It is the largest hot tub on WDW property. It is located by the main pool.

The spa, fitness center, tanning beds, salon, and steam room are all located by the quiet pool in casita 4.

I've never encounter a snake at CSR but I only read about it happening once. The small lake behind 9b is definitely not swampy. Check out pics on my website below.

Thanks Buzz, that's why I couldn't locate it. I was starting to get frustrated! It looks like building 8A would be the perfect location then.

Hi all. Hey Buzz! Great thread.

Can anyone tell me about internet access at the resort? From what I read, there is Wi-Fi available and "fast access" is available in the rooms. Does anyone know how much, how fast and where is the WiFi availble?

We arrive on 11/25 and depart 12/1. My DD 10 and I will both have schoolwork, so we are bringing a laptop.

Any tips, advice and suggestions are welcome!

TIA

Ursula

Smart City will bill the Guest using a secure credit card transaction via the on-screen Internet connection. Requirements: Requires a wireless interface card (WIC), available for purchase in the resort's business center. Price: $4.99 for the first 60 minutes or $9.95 for 24 contiguous hours. Coronado Springs areas include the Main Lobby, Convention Center hallway, the Dig Site (Feature Pool), Francisco's.

According to a fellow DIS'er who is at CSR this weekend...

Maya Grill - Manager said they are still negotiating and hopefully will be back in next year's plan. Told him that there was a forum full of worried people about Maya Grill not on the list yet and were hoping to see them because they LOVED them. (had to make them see several people WANT them...lol;) ;)

Francisco's Lounge - the lounge is not open yet. I spoke with a CM earlier today and she stated that it seems that they will be open until 10/28 and it seems that..well...how can I say this....It will no longer be called Francisco's anymore... :scared1: The new name will be Rix Cafe, yes..R-I-X. I thought she was saying Rick's and she's like no...R-I-X (she actually spelled it out for me).

Regarding snakes: I did once see a small alligator swimming in the big lake near the shore between El Centro and Cabana 9B. I'd always keep my eyes open around there.

Regarding internet: it is probably possible to set up your own wireless network at CSR if you buy their wired internet connection for a 24 hour period. I set up my laptop as a wireless server so my wife could also access the internet from her laptop. You could possibly spilt costs with your neighbors and all share their fast connection.

I remember Buzz's pics of the CSR gator last year! Cute little guy. This past summer we stayed at Shades of Green. They literally have several signs along the walkway from the hotel to Poly warning of gators. Sure enough, we saw those beady eyes in the water! Honestly, I'm not sure what is more dangerous...gators, or Disney tourists rushing to the parks:lmao:

Are their fridges in the CSR rooms? Or do we need to request one ahead of time?

I just read that the waterslide at the main pool will be closed down while are there (1st week of december). We normally stay at value resorts so my son was really looking forward to the waterslide. Does anyone know if they will be putting up a temporiary slide while the are fixing the other one? I know they have done this at other resorts so I was just wondering if they are going to do it here.

I had read it was closing down on November 26th. I didn't realize it was longer than a day or two. Maybe Buzz could fill you in on the latest.
