The *NEW* Coronado Springs FAQ Thread (Part II)

We currently have two rooms booked at CSR with a water view since there were no standard rooms available with the AAA rate.

I am thinking of asking my AAA agent of revising our reservations and ask that DH and my room be a King room (if available) and my mother's room with my two kids be a standard room. Originally I was going to have my youngest in our room and he was going to sleep on an Aerobed since he is to squirmy to sleep with and DH and I can't sleep in a full size bed together without me getting elbowed in the middle of the night.

We requested connecting or adjourning rooms. I know my mom would have all the kids DP credits, but that is no big deal since we are always eating together too.

My concern is getting connecting our adjourning rooms together with a king room and a standard waterview room. We are part of a grand gathering group and our TA told us that since we are that most likely our request would be honored.

Any thoughts if it is possible or should I just stick with two double bed rooms?
Also does one section have the majority of the king beds then another?

Thanks.

Glad you had a great trip. Looking forward to seeing your pictures of Casita #5. I am thinking about adding that section to my room request. I have the Cabana section requested already (8A and 9B), but I think I like the look of the Casita section. I know it really doesn't matter since the inside is all the same almost. Looking at the map it looks like the bus stop you need to cross the parking lot. Is that the case?

To get to Bus Stop #1 (which is the closest one to the Casitas), you will want to exit through the back of Casita 5 and walk across the parking lot to the bus stop. It's a quick and easy walk.

Does anyone know if they are using the new mugs now at CSR....I want to plan on buying one if they are the new ones.

Bus stop #2 is the stop behind casita 4 and 5. Bus stop #1 is the stop located at the main building. Bus stop #2 is the first stop picked up by park buses and bus stop #1 is the first by DtD and park exit buses.

One more question:

Will they bring up and print your boarding passes for you at the front desk?? We are flying southwest and want to check in online and print our boarding passes ahead of time.

yes, the concierge desk will do that for you.

I also wanted to know if they are using the new mugs at CSR. I really like the YOMD mugs, but don't really care for the CSR design. Has anyone been recently and seen the new mugs at CSR ?

I stand corrected. Thanks for catching my error, Mario. I kept thinking of it as Bus Stop #1 since it was always the first stop for pick-up and drop-off for the theme parks. :goodvibes

I know this issue has been discussed but I thought it might help to have an updated answer.

As I understand it if you want to use your computer and access the net, its $ 9.95 per day.

But I also understand that you can use the resort computers for free for 15 minutes.

Is this free 15 minutes per day or per visit ?

In other words could I use the resort free 15 minutes to check my e-mail each day, and then pay $ 10 if it turns out I need longer access.

How far in advance would i be able to find out which room we have been allocated, and how would i do it?I asked our travel company for a couple of requests which they emailed to the resort, but i was wondering when they would allocate the rooms. We are going 13th Dec-4th Jan.

I've never used this because I always bring a laptop or have concierge print my boarding passes but I have read other resort reviews that mention they were able to use the business center PC's for free to print boarding passes and check e-mail for the first 15 minutes for free. Not sure if this is still the case.

You don't/won't find out until check in.

OK thanks, are they pretty good with requests?
I faxed in a request last year for our trip a few days before we left and they honored the requests at check in. I didn't request a specific building number, but a specific section of buildings. I think the more general you are in your request the more likely that it will be honored.

Just back after spending Easter Week at CSR!

Thanks to Buzz I knew what to expect at CSR and am happy to report that everything was wonderful. Very friendly staff, rooms were clean, Pepper Market was excellent etc.

We stayed at CSR because of CM discount so it wasn't my choice originally but I have to say that everything was wonderful. We stayed in Casitas 5 and didn't find it that long a walk to El Centro and the bus stop was a hop, skip and jump away. It was also nice to go back to a quiet hotel in the evenings atfer spending all day in the crazy parks. I can only imagine what Allstars and POP were like Easter Week...well I saw their busses compared to ours and it was a huge difference in people!

We hadn't put in a view request and ended up looking out over the parking lot which wasn't bad. If you looked up in the sky you could see the Swan and Dolphin in the distance.

Once I get my pictures off the camera I'm going to try to post some. We took quite a few of the room and the outside of Casitas.

Thanks Buzz and everyone on this thread for all the help before I went.

I only wish I had more time to spend at the resort. We only had 6 days so we didn't spend much time walking around.
Great review! Thanks for sharing!!

Is there a direct bus from Coronado Springs to Typhoon Lagoon? I know that Blizzard Beach often shares with Animal Kingdom. Does Typhoon share with Downtown Disney?

Thanks.

Anyone have a list of where to find Hidden Mickeys on the resort grounds and buildings? I thought it would be fun to try and find them.

Thanks

I've booked CSR for Sept Dining, now I need to know which buildings I should put a request in for. We stayed at CBR last year (Jamaica building) and loved it and the walking didn't bother us much. We will be driving so don't have to worry about bus stops either. I'm thinking 9B and 8B are great choices, 8A seems too close to the main pool. Also which buildings allow smoking, so I know which ones to avoid?

Thanks in advance!!
