We just moved to CSR from POP thanks to the Visa code. We are only going to be there for the first 3 days of our trip--the next week at SSR. ANYWAY, we have never stayed there before, and are not sure about two things---
1. There are conflicting things I have read about refrigerators. We need to have one in our room--is it true they have them in all rooms?
2. We have a water view room booked, but would like to be close (not on top of :o) the pool, el centro, and a bus stop. What would be our best bets?

Any help is much appreciated!! TIA

Not so sure about the refridgerators, but the closest buildings etc to the main stuff (pool, el centro) is the Cabanas 9a, 9b.

2. We have a water view room booked, but would like to be close (not on top of :o) the pool, el centro, and a bus stop. What would be our best bets? Waterview at WDW can mean a fountain, river, lake, quiet pool or any body of water. There are no rooms that overlook the main pool.

Here are some good building choices. Check out my CSR website below for pics and info.

Cabana 9b is close to bus stop 1 and the main building with a short walk to the Dig Site (main pool) over the wooden bridge. (most convenient location and most preferred)

Cabana 8a is close to the Dig Site (and playground) and bus stop 4 with a short walk to the main building. (closest to the main pool)

Cabana 8b and 9a are in between the 2 above. 9a has a quiet pool (and is also the old smoking optional building).

Ranchos 7b has a quiet pool, is close to the Dig Site and bus stop 4 with a bit longer walk to the main building. 7b is behind cabana 8a.

Casita 3 has great courtyard and fountain views but you will have to walk or ride the internal shuttle to get to the pool.

Casita 5 has some nice fountain and lake views and is close to the Dig Site but farther from the main building. Close to bus stop 2.

Does anyone know how much it is to rent a microwave at the resort, from Disney? Also, has anyone ever gotten a massage from the resort? If you have do you have to tip the person as well? It is a lot of money and I have been saving my pennies to be able to afford this. With fibromyalgia having a massage the first of the second week could mean a more enjoyable and walkable experience.

I also wondered about the massages. Anyone know approximately how much they are?

I always get the 50 minute aromatherapy massage during the middle of the trip for 50 minutes for $105. There is an 80 minute one for $155. There is also a 25 minute one I think...but not sure of the price.

Anyone ever had their hair done at the salon at CSR? I was thinking about getting a simple updo before going out to dinner one night... not sure if it was worth going there or not..

I'm staying at CSR in November. My sister's family will also be joining us. She has several kids and really needs a larger room. Luckily, there was a Junior Suite available which she booked. But here's my question:

Looking at the helpful diagram that Buzz2001 has posted, it would appear that the Junior Suite is exactly the same size as two regular rooms. However, it costs quite a bit more than two regular rooms. But when my sister tried to book two adjoining rooms she was told that they couldn't guarantee it. Since she has several kids, she couldn't risk the two rooms being non-adjoining. Hence, she had to pay extra for the Junior Suite.

When my sister arrives, should she ask the check-in folks to switch her to regular adjoining rooms if any are available? Are adjoining rooms tough to get?

thanks.

Someone will correct me if I'm wrong (that's one thing you can count on when it comes to discussion forums and the internet), but if she is the only adult on her reservation, but needs 2 rooms due to the number of people, I THINK they will get you connecting rooms. If there are 2 adults on the reservation they wont guarantee it..

My sister and her husband are both on the reservation along with their kids.

Then they wont promise connecting rooms, you are correct.

The suites, as buzz was talking about in another thread, are made more for entertaining, being able to conduct business easier then 2 separate rooms.

If you get there early, and do put in a request, you may still get them though :goodvibes

In that case, I think most people will suggest that be the only request to give you the best chance.

ie: dont ask for connecting rooms, cabana 9b, 2nd floor, facing water :D:lmao:

DH and I are doing the same thing in Nov, only we're going for 8 days instead of 10 ... although I wish it was 10 :rotfl:

Hi all,
DH & I will be at CSR in mid November. I noticed there'll be two different conventions while there. Does anyone notice if the conventioners get drunk and roam around the resort like that? I don't mind so long as no one gets belligerent.

Thanks.

Last trip, on our last night there, there was such a loud, trashy, drunken convention (they were from some ghetto jewelry store outfit). They never bothered anyone around the rooms, and didn't bother me in El Centro but they had trashed the place and also made it very crowded. The lines the next day were terrible at Pepper Market. No other convention problems on other visits or other nights, but then you would not expect the American Gypsum Association to stir up much trouble.

We will be there with the IRS convention going on....I can't imagine they will be too wild...although they might let loose while on a vacation...you just never know about conventioneers! :rotfl:

Buzz - I checked out your convention list. I know of 2 conferences you're missing...not traditional "conventions" as there are lectures and courses but also medical equipment vendors and displays, and a good amount of people...the Fetus & Newborn Meeting at CSR Oct 10-13, 2007. I'm bummed because I really wanted to attend (mostly because I wanted to stay at CSR) and can't, but now that we switched to CSR for our vacation I think I'll be ok;)
Also, there is NEO, The Conference for Neonatology at YC & BC Feb 7-10, 2008. Both of these meetings aren't huge but sizable - such that when I attended NEO last year, I did see a number of the participants in the parks.
Also, thanks for your website and thread - so helpful with lots of good info!

Here is a list of conventions I try to maintain.

oh god, the tax forum will be there in September? I was hoping I got lucky and there wouldn't be a convention the week I am going, at least it's at the end of the week.
