Also, how do you overide the air conditioner? I hope it's not too hot that week, but you never know! Thanks for all your help!

Hi Lisa, Here is info on how to bypass the sensors on the AC:
Have fun at CSR, tink

Actual CSR Thermostat photo!

thermoec.jpg

Here are Buzz's directions:

AC Bypass - on the thermostat, push the power button and the down arrow (button that adjusts the temp) at the exact same time. If you do this correctly, you will see the letters "bp" where the temp normally shows. You are now bypassing the sensors in the room. You can then set the temp to whatever you want and it keeps the room that cold whether you are in it or not. You might have to do this once a day as the thermostat tends to go back to sensor mode after 24 hours.

We did not have a problem with the room being warm at all during our August trip, but it is nice to know.

Thanks for all your help guys! Do they actually provide a crib or is it a pack n play? Just need to know what size of sheets to bring.

Thanks!
Lisa

Buzz- thank you so much for your website and maintaining this wonderful thread.... I just read the WHOLE thing! My kids are wondering what the heck Mommy has been doing all morning! :rolleyes1 Thanks!

1. Fell in love with your pics of the Christmas decorations...just lovely. Do you know when they put them up? Our last day is 11/12 which is the 1st night for the Christmas party. Since the parks will be decorated, I'm sure hoping they are up! They begin to go up around that time to be done by Thanksgiving. You may get lucky!

2. I had to take a waterview based on availability, but my parents got a standard b/c they are staying 1 day LONGER... which was crazy b/c my dates were included in their vacation, but it is fine. Here's my question... we asked for connecting rooms....will this be at all possible due to the waterview? Yes it's possible but not guaranteed. I've gotten standard before and received a free upgrade to waterview. Plus Disney includes quiet pools and fountains (or any body of water) in waterview.

3. Read that the slide is for solo riders only. My daughter will be a month shy of 3 in Nov and is tiny. I'm sure she would LOVE to use it... will she have to go alone? I'm not sure I'm comfortable with that but would love to have her on my lap. Is that policy even for the little, little ones? My wife would take little ones down and the life guard will say that you can not. But at least your DD could get the first time under her belt with you. They have life vests available and you can stand at the bottom. It is around 3ft.

Thanks for your reply! Fingers crossed the some Christmas decorations are up!:santa:

Thanks again,
Lorraine

This is our first stay at WDW and I booked our stay at CSR with the AP rate and we have our voucher. We will probably be getting in late on the first day (like 9p or 10p), at CSR, will they accept the voucher for our AP or will they want to charge us rack rate since we only have the voucher? Or does it just depend on the CM that is checking us in?

The only bad thing so far I can find for moving west is the later arrival for flights if you are going east! Unless you are willing to leave in the middle of the night! I am not sure I can talk DH into that one ...:rolleyes1 I wanted to be able to leave after work on Friday so we can get the "travel day" out of the way and start fresh on Sat, but if they are likely to make us exchange the voucher before giving us the AP rate for our room, we'll wait until Sat to fly out. :sad1:

when i went to CSR last year on an AP discount... he did not ask for anything (though, like you, I had the voucher).

So I think it depends on the CM.

We just changed from POFQ to CSR for our upcoming trip. I am so excited because CSR is where I originally wanted to stay, however we are going with MIL and SIL and they chose POFQ - MIL can't walk super long distances (yes, I have asked DH over and over why she would want to go to WDW then) and it is a smaller resort. However, we saved money with the Disney Visa discount by switching and hey - I was the one left to figure it all out when the code came out and so I switched!;) I am hoping for great holiday decorations at CSR. What section is the best place for us to be in with MIL not being able to walk too far? We want to try Pepper Market and I also don't want to be too far away from the Dig Site.
We will also have our 2 DS (3yo and 1yo) and thus 2 strollers - are there elevators in the buildings? We have 2 rooms and are requesting rooms with a connecting door in between, will this narrow down our possibilities?
Thanks! Sorry if some of this info is in prior posts - I haven't gotten a chance to go through this whole thread but I will! Just wanted some quick info to go to our TA with regarding room requests.

Does anyone know how much it is to rent a microwave at the resort, from Disney? Also, has anyone ever gotten a massage from the resort? If you have do you have to tip the person as well? It is a lot of money and I have been saving my pennies to be able to afford this. With fibromyalgia having a massage the first of the second week could mean a more enjoyable and walkable experience.

Is anyone staying around the same time as my hubby and I:

We will pick up where you left off... We will be coming in on the 6-10th. It will also be our first trip to CSR. I can't wait!

I'm so excited. We switched from pop to csr using the visa code (ended up paying a couple $$ less). I've always wanted to stay here but with needing 2 rooms it never seemed to fit the budget. Now I get to try csr! :cool1:

We're a grand gathering with 4 rooms total. (all got the deal). I think we're going to try for the cabanas. My family had pop preferred before so I think this might be similar.

Buzz, thanks for all the info. I can't wait!!!!!!!!

We will be staying AKL first Dec 1-5, but then we will be switching to CSR Dec 5-9. Maybe we will see you there!!

We will be arriving on December the 5th, and staying until the 11th. I have been reading all of this information about Coronado Springs, and it is making me even more excited about my trip.

I have never visited Disney World, during the Christmas season, so I am also excited about that.

I have a massage every year we stay at CSR. I always tip the person who gives me the massage at 20%.

I don't think you can rent a microwave anywhere at WDW. They do have a microwave or maybe a toaster oven in the little snack shop (La Tienda) that you can use but the shop is being moved so I'm not sure if it will still be available.

buzz2001 posted on one of these threads that CSR does offers microwaves on a first come, first serve basis. Not sure of the cost. I just can't find the thread. You can rent one from A Baby's Best Friend too.

CSR is looks great at x-mas from the photos I've seen. Have fun!

My aunt and I had massages and they were great. You should give the person a tip, usually 15-20%.
