How long is the ride to DTD?... I've seen the times for all the parks listed, but nothing on the ride to DTD...20 min ride to DtD

We will be renting a car and will be using that most of the time ~ does it still take 20 minutes to get to DTD if NOT using disney transportation?? we stayed at Pop last year and remember it only taking about 10 minutes or so.. :confused3 TIA!!!! :goodvibes

Desiree, I had a rental car in October during my stay at CSR. The travel time to DTD was about 8-10 minutes. From CSR to Epcot, Animal Kingdom, MGM-Studios was 5 minutes. Heck, from the airport to CSR and picking up my resort packet was about 30 minutes.

Tia, your welcome, be sure to purchase a resort refillable mug at the resort. Great in the morning for coffee from the Pepper Market, (you have to try there breakfast pastries, muffins, etc., do die for). The mug is also great at the dig site or back to the Pepper Market to refill with a cold drink.

Ben

Oh we will certainly be getting the refill mugs... or at least one big one... DH is always awake LONG before I am... the sweet man walks to the main building and gets coffee for me, then wakes me when he gets back with it... I'll have him grab me a pastry to go with it...

Thanks again for your help!
And thanks to the Patient Saint Buzz as well...
 to you both!

We just got back. I LOVED this resort! It probably helped that I got the cabana I requested (8A) and the room (King bed) and the floor (First).

I was near the Dig Site, a lovely short walk to the main building, right around the corner from bus stop 4 and the parking lot (we rented a car).

The pool is wonderful. Be sure to schedule down time to enjoy it. My DD 10 and I enjoyed the slide, too!

The service from all the staff was impeccable (sic).

The food was great, too. I had no complaints whatsoever.

On our last day, I checked our luggage for our flight on Jetblue. Bell services picked me and my luggage up. A little later I dropped off our carry-ons so we could enjoy the parks for the morning. Came back and picked them up.

Easy as pie.

Prior to our trip, I found out that there were to be 2 conventions there at the same time. I was worried because I thought all those conventioneers would ruin my time at the resort. I was way wrong. Nothing to worry about at all. I saw them at breakfast and sometimes in the evening. But, they had zero impact on our vacation.

I cannot recommend this resort enough. Now I know why Buzz loves it so!

Oh and the concierge were able to obtain last minute reservations at Crystal Palace for me. I mean very last minute-like an hour before!

One more thing-the public rooms are beautiful. I mean really beautiful. All that tile and the Christmas decorations are up, too.

It's now my favorite resort!

Thanks for everything, Buzz!

Dreamer04- Welcome back. Glad you had a great trip.:santa: Thanks for posting your review.:thumbsup2

Do any CSR fans happen to know the cost of taking a taxi from Downtown Disney to CSR? :confused3

Thanks!

I have already booked CSR for my October trip..with many thanks to you and your good work. Three questions please, oh wise one:

1) Is there a fee for requesting a microwave? (Don't be a wise guy I know there's not a fee for asking but is there a fee for getting one?)

2) How far is the Winter/Summerland Mini Golf? It looks close enough to walk. Is it?

3) And lastly, 2008 construction concerns me. Do they move guests away from the rehab? Or is it conceivable that I'd be housed in a section undergoing loud/dusty/messy work :scared1: :scared1:

Thank very much kind sir!

1) Is there a fee for requesting a microwave? (Don't be a wise guy I know there's not a fee for asking but is there a fee for getting one?) From what I gather, the microwaves are given out on a first come, first serve basis. You can not reserve them and there is not charge. I'll be there in February and find out for sure.

2) How far is the Winter/Summerland Mini Golf? It looks close enough to walk. Is it? There is a sidewalk across the street from CSR that will take you to Blizzard Beach. Probably a 20 min walk. I never did it my self.

3) And lastly, 2008 construction concerns me. Do they move guests away from the rehab? Or is it conceivable that I'd be housed in a section undergoing loud/dusty/messy work :scared1: :scared1: I was there in early 2005 when they were painting and doing some rehab on the cabanas. It didn't interfere with my stay. I guess that will depend on what exactly the rehab entails and when they plan to do them.

i just got back from CSR. the renovated la tienda store (next to panchito
s) also has drink stations for the refillable mugs
. i can post pics at anyone's request.

Just got back and the waterslide was OPEN!!! the reports were not correct about the close. It was open every day for the whole week we were there.

My overall review:
The resort is beautiful! We were in 9b with connecting rooms. I LOVED THAT location. Just beautiful!

The kids LOVED The pool and dig site.

The negatives:
bathrooms were in need of update (moldy grout...yuck!)
and the worst of all negatives...the Pepper Market was terrible for us with our food allergies. It was consistently awful each time we went. They were down right rude to us (multiple people) and it was the WORST service we received for our special dietary needs ANYWHERE on disney property. (adding that the chefs were not rude to us, it was the manager who was VERY rude, and multiple hosts/ servers, 5 to be exact) Really so far below what we expect from Disney. So much so, in fact, we won't go back to CSR. If I can't get my daughter some gluten free/dairy free breakfast without pain, attitude, and hassle, I don't want to stay there. I did ask for help and I did complain once, but it got me no where. Just rude responses.

I can say, however, that if you don't have allergies or a special dietary restriction that is difficult, then you will probably love the CSR!!! For our family, having a good counterservice on property is a MUST!!! We just loved the Mara at Animal Kingdom, by the way!

Thanks for all the great tips everyone!

Oh, and the buses ran great! Never had to wait long at all. The resort really is lovely.
We had a GREAT time and wonderful weather!!!

Oh, and mousekeeping was wonderful too!!!

Can you explain how the food court works. Is there a differnet line for each item?

Also, what building would you suggest if I want to be close to the food court, a bus stop where we would be able to get a seat, and the pool? I would hate to have to take an internal shuttle!

Hi Everyone! I will be at CSR in 8 days and am very excited for my first stay!!!

I wanted to ship some water from Staples to CSR and I wanted to know what I should put on the box and the correct address.

TIA!! :santa:

Hi would just like to add that we walked from mini golf to CSR a couple of years ago - it was a very easy walk and , as Buzz says, sidewalks all the way - didn't seem like 20 minutes - it did seem less, but we didn't really time ourselves - we plan to do this again in summer (and walk back to our resort) - we are going to do in the evening after the water park has closed

Buzz is the Official CSR guru, but from what I have learned from Buzz is that Cabana 9B is the most preferred location because it is close to everything (Pepper Market, bus stop, main building, etc.)

Is there a different line for each item? A different line for each station. Mexican station, Chinese station, Grill station, Italian station, soup and salad station, etc...

Also, what building would you suggest if I want to be close to the food court, a bus stop where we would be able to get a seat, and the pool? I would hate to have to take an internal shuttle! Here are some good building choices.

Cabana 9b is close to bus stop 1 and the main building with a short walk to the Dig Site (main pool) over the wooden bridge. (Most convenient location and most preferred)

Cabana 8a is close to the Dig Site (and playground) and bus stop 4 with a short walk to the main building. (Closest to the Pool)

Cabana 8b and 9a are in between the 2 above. 9a has a quiet pool (and is the old smoking optional building).

Ranchos 7b has a quiet pool, is close to the Dig Site and bus stop 4 with a bit longer walk to the main building. 7b is behind cabana 8a.

Casita 3 has great courtyard and fountain views but you will have to walk or ride the internal shuttle to get to the pool.

Casita 5 has some nice fountain and lake views and is close to the Dig Site but farther from the main building. Close to bus stop #2.

I just guessed on the time. I've only been there by taking the bus.
