Hi! We will be there at the same time! (me, DH & DD16). We're going to decorate our window and door, so look for us!

I called today and requested Cabanas 8A, because DH wants to be close to the hot tub. ;)

I just pressed the number to "modify an existing resort reservation" and told the CM that I wanted to add a request to my reservation. Then I just said that I'd like to request Cabanas 8A, close to the pool. I meant to also say 1st floor, but I forgot. I may call back and add it, or may not.

I don't know about the conventions, but I don't think they will have a big impact on the room request, unless they put a whole block of people in that building. I'm not really sure how they do it?

It's official! Just booked CSR for next year. Our '06 CSR/WDW vacation was great, and we're looking forward to our next visit.

Shhhhh...DD10 doesn't know about this yet. Hopefully, DW & I can keep the secret. We've already almost slipped up...twice:lmao:

I cant remember does CSR have irons and boards in the rooms or do I need to pack my travel iron? Leaving in 4 days :cool1: :cool1:

My mom is having trouble with her knees,(leaving Saturday)we called the resort and they said they had elevators but I thought I read on here that they don't,only stairs. Can you guys clarify this for me? Just not sure if I should call and ask for a ground floor room.

Yes, every building at CSR has an elevator.

I think I'm losing, I just my answer. I'm just really starting to stress being this close to leaving and as long as I've been planning. Thanks anyway!!

leaving for my first stay at CSR in a few hours. Just passing time at work- ha!!

Me too...I'm sitting here at work counting down the hours til I go catch our plane. I must have been crazy, telling the boss I would work a half day today! Not getting too much work done...just waiting for noon to come so I can go pick up my son and catch our flight!

Thanks everyone/Buzz for the info on CSR!! I can't wait to see it in person!!

Buzz, do you have any information on the new lounge or whatever it was that was being expanded?

Well, I'm not Buzz, but I was just at CSR last week and the walls are still up. The lounge and arcade that were near Pepper Market are walled off. The Maya Lounge is offered from 4-11 outside Maya Grill, as well as the bar by the marina.

Rix (the new Francisco's) probably won't open for at least a couple of more weeks due to building permits (it keeps getting pushed further, but hopefully by the end of December anyway!). Rix is being describe as more of a disco with live entertainment, and it is supposed to look VERY nice when done - lots of money put into it. The main building arcade is gone and some of that space will be the home of the new La Tienda. The rest of that space is going to RIX.

Panchitos had some work done to it as well.

Coronado is slated for room rehabs in 2008.

Coronado is looking at making the Pepper Market more user-friendly.

The outdoor bar (Laguna Lounge) was supposed to be temporary BUT now CSR plans to keep it and add an awning going outside, but I'm not sure how that will work.

CSR may upgrade their offerings from the room service menu as well.

So I just saw that the Salsa championships would be going on during 12/12-12/16 at CSR. I'll be arriving there 12/15 and am wondering how it will impact my stay. I've never heard of these championships before, and don't know what to expect. :confused3

Buzz, my wife and I just came back from 6 days at the Coronado Springs Resort. (Oct. 6-12, 2007). I booked my travel package through AAA in mid-September of 2006. I requested a king bed with a water view in Cabanas 9B or 9A. We received Cabanas 8b. Even though alittle more walking to El Centro, much closer to the Dig Site, and the quiet pool of the Cabanas. The view from our first floor room was fantastic, both in the morning and evening. We both love the resort, the service of the staff, and the refillable mugs.

We truly enjoyed our stay at the Coronado Springs Resort.

Ben

Hello Ben,

Do you remember your room number?... If we do stay at CSR in Sept. instead of CBR this is exactly what I want... King bed, water view, first floor, Cabanas 8b... :cheer2:

I have other questions, but I'll read more of this thread before asking them...

TIA!!

I also have the same question....any help please!! I'll be there Dec. 12-18 and now I'm a little worried...:sad2:

The impact with any convention is usually limited to check-in, in and around the main building or the Pepper Market. Being a Salsa competition, I don't think they have tradition breaks during the day like a business convention would for lunch and dinner. The competitions are probably continually going on in the convention facilities. It also does not look like a huge competition with lots of guests. What I've observed from any convention is that the buses and pools are less crowded and the Pepper Market can get crowded at lunch and dinner. If we choose to eat at the PM, we would do it earlier for lunch and/or dinner than traditional times to avoid crowds.

I think I read this was going to be televised on ESPN too. Might be fun to watch if you get a chance. Tickets are available.

Link to the salsa championship website. Looks like a big dance contest.

Hi all, we are on the way to WDW and Coronodo right now, literally as I am typing this in the car using out Sprint card. Just wanted to thank Buzz for all the info the last 10 months. I will post pictures and thoughts when we get back.
