The new cast of Dancing With The Stars

I don't think I could say this any better. He seems like a positive, non-dramatic force within the show. He takes criticism (even when NOT AT ALL DESERVED) well. He treats Chelsie with respect. He just seems like such a good kid, and it really pisses me off when the judges seem to pick on him. I guess they just don't like the younger stars for whatever reason. It's a shame, because I think he is very talented and he and Chelsie are so much fun to watch. Much better than seeing Melissa swung around like a lasso.
Maybe they ride him so hard because they know he can do even better. I thought that the comment of "soft legs" by Bruno was spot on. I think Roshon is a very good dancer.

I agree about the "soft legs" comment. I think the judges don't like Roshon (and Kyle and Brad) because the only reason he is there is because he is part of the "ABC Stable" and they don't consider him worthy. Melissa got a pass because she was a last minute stand-in.

Totally drawing a blank on her name, but the blonde that Mark danced with last year was an ABC (Disney kid) and the judges fawned all over her. It's a double standard with them. The guys of ABC get judged harsher than the girls do. You can even go back as far as Sabrina. She's another ABC girl that the judges loved. Justfully so, but it's still another example. Even if Melissa hadn't been a last minute fill in, I think they would have gushed all over her. And if I recall correctly, didn't they judge Jake a bit hard. I don't remember Trista's season, so I don't know how it went with her.

I can tell you why I like him. First of all, I think he is a very fluid and natural dancer. I thought he started out good and has become even better. His latin dances are energetic and upbeat, but he can dance with control and confidence like in last night's tango. I also like his demeanor. He is sweet and humble and you don't see him fighting with his partner. He seems genuinely happy to be dancing on the show and exudes delight with his bright smile. Last night he looked so suave and debonaire ... like a little baby Rat Packer. What's NOT to like?

I agree. He is very fluid, with natural grace, but you can tell he doesn't have the dance training that Katherine has. He is enthusiastic and really GRATEFUL to have been given the opportunity to dance, compete & grow.

His downside is that he doesn't seem to be able dance the dances more "traditionally." I liked his Michael Jackson dance, but that was no rhumba. It would have been perfect for his free-style dance. The same can kind of thing can be said for most of his dances. He's competing against other people who are dancing the traditional style the dances require. However, that is Chelsie's fault, not his. She is exchanging his natural exuberance for traditional technique, form & posture. Hence, the "soft legs." He's TOO loose, and that is Chelsie's fault.

Who was Brad again?

Melissa also had professional cheerleading experience. She knew how to move her feet to choregraphy. And the judges didn't want to dump on her as the Bachelor had dumped her.

Trista was out, like the second week. Poor thing. Pretty, great to look at, sweet, found a gorgeous, devotes guy I'd love to love, but she was as stiff as a thin broomstick.

Who was Melissa a last minute stand in for?

I have watched the show since its premiere. I can't stand how Derek can do no wrong and is the golden boy. I do think he is skilled but I can't remember the last time he got ripped by the judges like other pros do. He can prove how skilled he is by taking an less talented woman as his partner. If he could take Melissa and do as well with her then I would say his praise is deserved.

I also can't stand Mark. In addition to keeping his shirt on, he needs to stop with the head bopping and stupid facial expresssions. My 16 year old DD loves him so when we watch together it gets funny. She was upset last night because I voted for Melissa to keep Maks around.

I think the jen0610 was referring to Melissa Rycroft, from The Bachelor, as she was referring to ABC's stable of stars, not Melissa Gilbert, who was on NBC during Little House..

Derek was given Rikki Lake, who at the beginning seemed like he was given someone who might mot have been very good.

Melissa Rycroft was a last minute fill in for Nancy O'Dell back in season 8.

Season 2 - Kenny 10th (ESPN)

Season 3 - Monique 4th (Disney Kid)

Season 4 - Nobody jumped out at me with an ABC tie in.

Season 5 - Sabrina 7th (Disney Kid)
Season 5 - Cameron 5th (ABC Soap)

Season 6 - again nobody

Season 7 - Susan 6th (ABC Soap)
Season 7 - Cody 4th (Disney Kid)

Season 8 - Melissa R 3rd (ABC show)

Season 9 - Melissa H 9th (ABC show)

Season 10 - Aiden 9th (ABC soap)
Season 10 - Jake 11th (ABC show)
Season 10 - Erin 3rd (ESPN)

Season 11 - Kyle 2nd (Disney Kid)

Season 12 - Chelesa 3rd (Disney Kid) (this is the blonde I couldn't remember her name.

Season 13 - again nobody

Season 14 - Jack 11th (ABC soap)
Season 14 - Sherri 10th (ABC show)
Season 14 - Jaleel still in (ABC show)
Season 14 - Roshon still in (Disney Kid)

OMG he drives me crazy! I don't remember him being so completely over the top during his first couple of seasons. But in the last couple of seasons....Wow! He looks manic out there. He's a really great dancer, but his expressions and over-doing every step take away from the dance.

...and he's not one who should take off his shirt....meh.....

Mark doesn't bother me but I do agree that he should keep his shirt on as should Derek. I think that Mark is a great dancer and has seemed to have gotten more expressive since he's started a band or something like that.

Oh, but with his over-inflated ego, he thinks he should!
I think that this applies to most men. :rotfl:

I'm glad Cheryl finally got kudos for being a great choreographer. :thumbsup2

Oh man, the story about Steelo had me weeping. What an amazing accomplishment for him tonight! I wish him and his family all the best.:goodvibes

Ok, I missed some parts of tonight's result show, who's in jeopardy? Lord please let it be Melissa and Maks.;)

They haven't named anyone in jeopardy yet.

Bottom TWO:

Roshan & Chelsie
Jaleel & Kym
