The New Caribbean Beach FAQ Part VII

I too, think the rooms remind me of Royal Pacific decor. which I like a lot.

but I will miss the colorful nemo rooms.. I love color and CHEERY!!!

on the other hand, I would NOT be willing to pay more money for a special "nemo themed" room. all these special rooms (pirates, roayl guest) are IMHO, another way for Disney to get more money out of people. and limits the amount of standard rooms.

I don't mind a mild amount of Disney in my room, but I prefer the understated! The new rooms are right up my alley. Frankly I wasn't too excited "having" to book CBR for FD because the decor really isn't my thing. With all the great things I've heard here it doesn't matter what we get, but I sure would like a refurbished room!

For a long time I just didn't like the design of the moderate rooms and the values too. I manage to stay at Pop four times now and really like the tripple sheeting with just the runner. I think it makes the room more restful than the busy bedspreads did. The design represented primarily by the bedspreads kept me from wanting to stay at CBR and POR until I saw the pics for them with white coverlets. But they could add some color back in by using colorful throw pillows. I am hoping to stay at CBR Nov 15 to Nov 20, then sneak off to the new universal hotel, Cabana Bay for two nights.

I can't wait to see some pictures of the rooms that are 100% done and ready for check-in!

How would I go about requesting a specific section of CBR? Thanks!

I was wondering the same thing, specifically how to go about booking one of the rooms that will accomidate 5. I did a chat with a CM yesterday and they didn't know anything about CBR having rooms for 5 and asked for confirmation that some of the room refurbishments are done and she couldn't do that either. I wonder if calling would be better.

It's not official that they will have rooms for 5 yet. It seems to be a sure thing but you can't book it yet.

We'll be there Sept 11-15 on free dining and then staying 2 nights (15th-17th) at Yacht Club Club Level on 30% off room only.

It will be my and DH's first trip back to DW since our honeymoon at Beach Club 8 years ago and first ever Disney trip for our kids (5yo boy and 2yo girl).

It will be our first time at CBR and we are SO excited!

We decided to eat at Shutters on our first day - non-theme park evening. Just wondering if anyone has eaten there recently and has menu suggestions??

I like the new rooms but since we booked a pirate room, it looks like we won't be staying in one. I did want to point out that DH and I went to Sandals in Jamaica last year and some of the elements of the refurbed room remind me very much of that resort. There are obvious differences, like in Jamaica (where it is about a million degrees all the time) we had tile instead of carpet but I see similarities in the style.

I agree!!! We were at Beaches Negril a few months ago and as soon as I saw the refurb pics I thought that it looked so familiar -- and now I know why!!! :goodvibes

You can't book for 5 yet but I guess if you really wanted to reserve a room, you could always book a preferred room, where they are rumored to be, with only 4 of your party for now and then add your last member later when that info is released.

Paying final payment today. So where should i request without having to pay more? Where are the refillable mug stations for morning coffee? thanks

The only place with refillable mug stations when I was there in October was OPR -- so you would want either Martinique or Trinidad North if you wanted to be close to that. I was in Aruba 52, so I barely used my mug.

We will be at CBR for the first time Nov. 12-22. I can't wait!!! Hoping we are lucky enough to get a refurbed room! They look so much better than the nemo rooms IMO. I wonder how soon we can request a room with a murphy bed? I'd love an extra sleep space for one of the kids.

That is funny, we were at Sandals Negril, just 2 resorts down the beach. 30 of our friends, DH and myself all went to Sandals Negril for a friends wedding last year. Now most of us are planning a 2015 trip with the kids to Beaches Negril.

Yay for making that final payment! Somehow, that makes the trip sound so much more "real". ;)

We were in Jamaica 43 for two weeks and just came home on the 7th. The walk to Old Port Royale (where the refill station is) was about 5 minutes. From what's being reported, Jamaica building 41 rooms have been completely refurbed and they are starting on Jamaica building 42. I forgot to look to see if you had a ticker so I don't know when you'll be arriving but, if you request Jamaica, there's a possibility that you would be in one of the new rooms.
