Yay for making that final payment! Somehow, that makes the trip sound so much more "real". ;)

We were in Jamaica 43 for two weeks and just came home on the 7th. The walk to Old Port Royale (where the refill station is) was about 5 minutes. From what's being reported, Jamaica building 41 rooms have been completely refurbed and they are starting on Jamaica building 42. I forgot to look to see if you had a ticker so I don't know when you'll be arriving but, if you request Jamaica, there's a possibility that you would be in one of the new rooms.

have you started your trip report yet? cant wait to read:):)

You can't book for 5 yet but I guess if you really wanted to reserve a room, you could always book a preferred room, where they are rumored to be, with only 4 of your party for now and then add your last member later when that info is released.

We are currently booked into 2 standard room for Nov(with Free dining). There will be 6 of us for part of the trip and 5 for the last 4 days. I would love to change at least one of our rooms to the new rooms so we could reduce the number of days on the second reservation. Even if I had to pay a prefered rate I would still come out ahead as long as i could keep our free dining.:thumbsup2

Can you call in with room requests for queen beds yet? Has word got out to the CMs that they have queen beds yet? Thanks

Oh, so you do already have rooms. That's good, you can just modify as needed! That's what I figure. A room with a Murphy bed in preferred would be worth the small extra cost since the next option up for families of 5 is a LOT more. Values unfortunately don't work for our family.

How would I go about requesting a specific section of CBR? Thanks!

I was wondering the same thing, specifically how to go about booking one of the rooms that will accomidate 5.

The best way to make room requests is to call the main reservation line and have them added to your reservation. This can be done anytime from the day you book up until 4-5 days prior to your arrival as rooms are assigned 2-3 days out.

You will have to wait until we know what section of the resort will have rooms that accommodate 5, if any. Once we know that, then you can call and request that section or book that category.

We are staying at CBR October 17-24th, can't wait!

Welcome!

We'll be there Sept 11-15 on free dining and then staying 2 nights (15th-17th) at Yacht Club Club Level on 30% off room only.

It will be my and DH's first trip back to DW since our honeymoon at Beach Club 8 years ago and first ever Disney trip for our kids (5yo boy and 2yo girl).

It will be our first time at CBR and we are SO excited!

Welcome! Whoohoo for your first CBR stay!

Paying final payment today. So where should i request without having to pay more? Where are the refillable mug stations for morning coffee? thanks

We really love Jamaica 45. I make the coffee/breakfast run every morning and it's about 4 minutes or so one way. Easy peasy. Aruba 51 is about the same.

We will be at CBR for the first time Nov. 12-22. I can't wait!!! Hoping we are lucky enough to get a refurbed room! They look so much better than the nemo rooms IMO. I wonder how soon we can request a room with a murphy bed? I'd love an extra sleep space for one of the kids.

Welcome! You won't be able to request a room with a Murphy bed until they load them into the system.

You can try to add a request of "refurbished room". The phone CM may balk and say there are no refurbished rooms at CBR, but stand firm and ask them to please just make that request.

We decided to eat at Shutters on our first day - non-theme park evening. Just wondering if anyone has eaten there recently and has menu suggestions??
We ate there twice during our stay in January. We shared an order of the empanadas and wings for an appetizer. They were both tasty. We both had the steak the first night. It was great and cooked to perfection! The second time we dined there I had the fish tacos, I asked for a dinner portion and he ordered the brisket. My tacos were really good but his brisket was just OK. Service was great, also.

I don't care about the room renovations. I'm staying in a pirate room! Arrrrrrr

A more pressing question. What beers are on tap at the pool bar(rrrrrr)?

Thank you!! Relief to hear positive feedback!!! :yay:

We are fairly easy to satisfy. Will be our first night so I think eating at the resort will be more relaxing! And will give the kids more time in the pool.

So excited about our stay and looking forward to trying Shutters. :thanks:

Hi there!

So happy to find this thread! We will be staying there a year from now, June 5-11, 2015. We are traveling with my parents and my sister's family, celebrating my parents' 40th anniversary. It is my hope that the refurb is done by then and we can get a fresh room. Just want things to be nice for my parents. Anyway, look forward to the updates here.

Welcome! I've added your dates. The refurd is scheduled to be done by then, the permit expires in May 2015.:thumbsup2

Thank you so much for the update! So glad to know that things will basically be done by the time we get down there. I had nightmares of the entire place being ripped apart when we arrived. Can't wait to see what all the refurb entails. :woohoo:

Welcome!

Thanks, can you add our dates too? July 27th to August 1th, 2014' :woohoo:

I am excited to hear that they are possibly refurbishing the CBR for 5 guests. We are planning a trip for Nov 2015 and the only thing I was seeing that would have enough room for all of us that was affordable was either POR or AoA. I didn't really want either of those because I am from south MS and I've been around the New Orleans theme my entire life. I will probably book POR so I can start making payments soon but will switch to CBR once they announce that a family of 5 can stay there. Also, the free dining is a plus. I hope they keep that.

That is funny, we were at Sandals Negril, just 2 resorts down the beach. 30 of our friends, DH and myself all went to Sandals Negril for a friends wedding last year. Now most of us are planning a 2015 trip with the kids to Beaches Negril.

It was AMAZING! The girls loved it just as much as Disney. We actually booked a "bounceback" deal and were set to go back this November, but we got the Disney itch & free dining was available for our dates -- so a 10 day trip to Disney was cheaper than 5 nights at Beaches Negril (the only room for a family of 5 is a super expensive suite).

They are opening a Beaches in Barbados later next year so we're planning a 2016 stay there :goodvibes

I'm going to call and change my room request soon and I can't decide if I should just request a "refurbished room" or just request a village like Jamaica that I know will be done? Hmm
