The New and Improved Official Home of The Tagliarchy!

Hi again, I had Chick-Filet for breakfast, since I had to forego the pancakes this morning. The virtual ones aren't quite as tasty as the ones that a certain person could actually cook.........

Hi all, I got an answer about the music on the threads from the Dis-Gods...

Music is allowed in posts, but as you say, if everyone suddenly puts music on every thread it could well become a tad annoying and if there were then complaints...well then we would probably stop it.
Therefore, whilst we currently allow, we don't actively encourage it.

I would like to say that if more than one post using sound is on a page, then they both play at the same time. So I think before this gets out of hand, we need to say that first come gets the honor of the music on each page.
Just wanted you all to know that I did search the Tech board for guidance on this issue BEFORE posting the song on the color poll (I saw ohanafamily's thread but there was no answer). I also ran a search which yielded nothing. This morning I checked back at the Tech board to see if there was an answer to that thread with the intention of removing the music if it was not appropriate. I wasn't trying to step on any toes by posting the song. It was meant to be funny. I will remove the song from the poll if you want. BTW, I have no intention of posting any songs on the Tagliarchy thread.

TTFN!

You didn't step on any toes Tiggerfans !!

I did think it was funny. At first I thought it was my little inner voice trying to contact me again, then I realized it was music (well if you can call it that!hehe) I do want to thank you however for not putting Tiki music on that thread. I would have probably started TALKING to my inner voice:crazy: Tiki music makes me do weird things!!!

Hi folks! Hope everyone had a good weekend!

Thought you all might like to know that I've started posting my trip report. I'd include a link to it here but I've no idea how to do that!

Hello everyone! :wave2: Long time no post. Although not nearly as long as some people! ahem...Rick...ahem ;)
I've been busy at work lately, not to mention still trying to get settled in the new place.

Anyhoo...I wanted to post a quick response to the concert question. (Why does it seem I'm always last to respond?)

The ones I can remember off the top of my head:

Billy Joel (one of my all-time faves)
Elton John (another of my all-time faves)
James Taylor (yet another)
Sting (another...are you sensing a theme?)
Garth Brooks (w/ Martina McBride before she was known)
Michael Crawford - Yeah, me too Laura!
Mark Wills - on New Year's Eve
Rascal Flatts/Chris Cagle - Chris was great...RF were not
Alison Krauss - Absolutely LOVE this woman! Have seen her twice so far.

And, though I really hate to admit it...New Kids On The Block.

Picture it...me, a friend, his mother and about 30,000 ear-piercing teenage girls who obviously could not have cared less whether Donnie, Danny and the rest were lip-synching...badly.

Like a lot of you, I have very eclectic tastes in music. You should see my CD collection (I have over 600). But, I don't really enjoy going to large concerts anymore. Is that a sign of getting older? Apparently not if you look at Deadheadbelle's list! :teeth:

I think the next one I would love to go to is Simon & Garfunkel. I have always dreamed of seeing them in concert and they are just starting up a new tour!

Tigger Fans!, you missed my point; I want to make sure that it doesn't get out of hand. I am at work now, and sound is not generally cool. I just have to make sure my volume is down...

I would have posted music before now, but I didn't want to open the can of worms.....

Artists, celebrities decorate Mickeys

By Todd Pack
Sentinel Staff Writer
November 17, 2003

Disney's biggest star is turning 75.

"Steamboat Willie," starring a chipper young unknown named Mickey Mouse, opened in New York on Nov. 18, 1928.

On Tuesday, Walt Disney Co. Chairman Michael Eisner will celebrate the eight-minute cartoon's anniversary by unveiling 75 6-foot Mickey statues at a 10 a.m. ceremony at the Magic Kingdom.

"Celebrate Mickey: 75 InspEARations" will feature statues decorated under the direction of artists, athletes, movie stars and ordinary people.

Sir Elton John, who wrote the music for Disney's movie The Lion King -- and co-wrote the music and lyrics for the Broadway show -- contributed a Mickey emblazoned with musical notes and wearing the kind of outlandish glasses that Sir Elton sometimes wears onstage.

Ice skater Michelle Kwan, meanwhile, kept hers simple, giving Mickey a heart and a peace sign to hold.

Other celebrity artists include Oscar-winning actor Tom Hanks and original Mousketeer Annette Funicello.

The statues will be on display at Disney World through April, when they will begin a national tour including stops in Atlanta and Kansas City.

They will end up at California's Disneyland in fall 2004 and be sold at auction in 2005.

The proceeds will go to charity.

I don't know if I should be offended or proud!?! In my early twenties I went to over 20 concerts per year. I was waiting tables full time & going to college full time, but I could bid for the shifts I wanted to work, so I would work 4 doubles in a row so I could be off for a few days to travel & see concerts. Then there was the summer that I took off for a whole month to follow The Grateful Dead during their entire summer tour. Anyway, times have changed. I saw Widespread Panic a couple of weeks ago & that was the first concert I had been to in 2 years!!!!! I'm not big on crowds anymore, either. I guess it's the age, people tend to get on my nerves. I would love to see Simon & Garfunkel, too. The tickets are really high, though.

I didn't check in yesterday because my eye is injured. Well, not injured, but I am probably going to have to have surgery. I am going to the doctor tomorrow. The tear duct in my right eye became blocked about 3 years ago & after seeing many different doctors, I saw an occuplastic surgeon who performed a Dacryocystorhinostomy to fix the blocked area. Well, my left eye has been behaving the same for quite a while, but I have put off going to the doctor as I hoped that maybe it would not get bad. I was wrong. It is swollen & rather sore. So, I'm going to the occuplastic surgeon tomorrow & I'm sure I will have to have surgery. Add to that, I am in SIL's wedding 2 days after Christmas, & I don't want to look like I got punched in the eye (which is what I look like right now) so I will probably have to have the surgery soon.:( .

ohanafamily and RRBB, the color wheel is great! Thanks!

I'm sure you will look great for the wedding, expecially if you have it done soon. If not, the Magic of concealer will come in handy!!;)
