Hmmmmmmm, Ohanafamily was that you I just saw naming names? I thought so.

RRBB I noticed a while back that, judging from your tag, you must be an avid QVC shopper. Were you watching this morning around 8:30-9:00? (that's eastern time) I called in to order some festive holiday decorations (OK, I'll admit it was animated, with lights, 3-dimensional Santa and his reindeer) and I was picked to talk to the hosts on air. So if you heard someone from KY, that would be me. I think I sounded OK, don't think I made a fool of myself or anything. :worried: At least I talked to them, I hate when people don't talk, I feel bad for the hosts trying to engage them in conversation.

BTW Ohanafamily I read a few pages back that you hadn't started making your fruit cakes yet:confused: Are you kidding me? You can't really believe that anyone eats those things, do you? I mean, as a friend I feel obligated to let you in on the joke. Nobody really likes fruit cake. Don't feel bad,, it's just better that you find out now, that is if you were serious.;)

Actually llebrekniT, it was supposed to be a PM, and I hit the wrong button. Since it didn't have any specifics that could identify it as a praise or sarcastic comment I went ahead and left it on the thread...

As far as the fruitcakes go, I like to send a specific kind of fruitcake to some of my vendors...imagine if you will, a fruit Cake with all of the nasty stuff taken out and whole pecans and chocolate added. They are quite yummy-look at this link, the TY30.

Good morning everyone. Is everyone having a good day? How about a nice mid-morning snack? I've got some nice fresh fruit to share. If you're not into the healthy, I've got some yummy chocolate sauce to dip it in.

llebrekniT sorry, but I missed your QVC debut. Actually I've only ever purchased scrapbook supplies from there. You should see me when they have a scrapbook show marathon - TV, phone, calculator, paper, pen AND laptop. I like to look up the products online to make sure I'm really getting a good deal, especially after adding in shipping and tax. (There have been several occassions when I determined it was cheaper just to get it at a local store.) ohanafamily "lovingly" got that tag for me.

HAPPY :bounce:
BIRTHDAY :jumping3:
DEADHEADBELLE :Pinkbounc

Did you know that you share a birthday with ::MickeyMo himself!?!? How cool are <b>you</b>?!?!

Here's an article from CNN.com I thought you would enjoy...along with the rest of us Southerners who mysteriously don't have accents! ;)

**************************

Southern drawls don't compute

SHREVEPORT, Louisiana (AP) --Southern drawls have thwarted voice recognition equipment used by the Shreveport Police Department to route non-emergency calls.

A switchover to a lower-tech, touch-tone system -- in which callers hear a voice recording they can respond to by pressing a different number for each division -- is scheduled for Monday, said spokeswoman Kacee Hargrave.

The voice-recognition system asked people to name the person or department they wanted. More often than not, the system just didn't understand, and they wound up at the wrong place, said Capt. John Dunn, who oversees police communications.

"In Louisiana, we have a problem with Southern drawl and what I call lazy mouth. Because of that, the system often doesn't recognize what [callers] say," he said.

Interim Chief Mike Campbell knows all too well how frustrating the voice recognition system can be.

"I can count on one hand when I have been transferred to where I've wanted to go, and I know the system. I can imagine how frustrating it would be for a citizen," he said.

Thanks for all the kind Birthday wishes, everyone!! :grouphug:

Well, I went to the occuplastic surgeon this morning & my fears were confirmed. I have a blockage in the pathway that connects to the tear duct that drains stuff (hope this medical jargon isn't too much for you guys ;) ). Only way to fix the problem is with surgery (Dacryocystorhinostomy, or DCR). It is outpatient surgery, but I have to be put under with general anesthesia for about an hour. I hate it, I hate it, I hate it!!!! I had the surgery on my right eye 3 years ago & it healed pretty quickly, no black eyes or anything. Plus, the surgeon is a plastic surgeon, so he is very good at closing it up with little scarring. I wonder if while I'm under he could get someone to perform a little nip/tuck in some other areas??:p

llebrekniT, good eye. I am exactly 32 years old today.

DH took a personal day today, so we are going to drop the kids off at DMIL's house this afternoon so we can go out to eat & see a movie. I think we are going to see "Kill Bill". Has anyone seen it? I love Quentin Tarrantino, so I am dying to see it.

Oh, I forgot. I am scheduled to have surgery on December 17. I have to take antibiotics to clear up the area before he can perform the surgery. I also have to have a physical before the surgery. I didn't have to have a physical the last time. Do you think it is because I am over 30 this time????

Deadheadbelle, good luck on your surgery, I hate the anestesia too. I wake up wired. I go from sleep to run. (I had some dental surgery a few years ago) DW had to get me some valium to keep me down. I was in the chair watching my BP go steadily up and up and up and the Dr. said "Good Night."

Have a happy Birthday.....

Oh, BTW, last segment of my trip report is up.....

Sorry...as usual, I try to find humor where I can. I do hope your surgery goes well.

Deadheadbelle, it's kinda neat how last December you gave birth to a beautiful baby girl and now you're expecting to deliver something outta your eye on the 17th of December. Can we take wagers on how much that little booger

(no pun intended) will weigh? You should keep it this time, put it in a jar or something. Just an idea. I got lots of ideas.:p

and be thankful your surgeon doesnt leave alot of scarring.... like mine did..

 :sunny:

i think its time for a new question::yes::

Deadheadbelle was born on the same day in November as our beloved Mickey Mouse.::MickeyMo

Deadheadbelle was born the year WDW opened.

Deadheadbelle is older than her hubby which makes her a cradle robber.<a href='http://www.smileycentral.com/?partner=ZSzeb008' target='_blank'><img src='http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/15/15_5_10.gif' border=0></a>

Deadheadbelle used to do some kind of no-hands acrobatic move every birthday until, hmmmmmm, how long has it been since you could do that thing?<a href='http://www.smileycentral.com/?partner=ZSzeb008' target='_blank'><img src='http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/18/18_2_102.gif' border=0></a>

That's all for now, I'll try to think up some more.

Good God almighty! Writing trip reports takes a lot of work! I'm typing in Word and cutting and pasting as I go. I'm already at 19 pages in 10 point font and I'm only through the first half of the second day of nine days!

Man, I talk too darn much.

And by the way, how DO I put all the links to my trip report posts onto one page?

I posted this on the color poll but thought you might all enjoy it as well!

<font face=andy size=3 color=purple><center>I Shall Wear Purple
by Jenny Joseph
fa8631bd.jpg

When I am an old woman I shall wear purple
With a red hat which doesn't go, and doesn't suit me.
And I shall spend my pension on brandy and summer gloves
And satin sandals, and say we've no money for butter.
I shall sit down on the pavement when I'm tired
And gobble up samples in shops and press alarm bells
And run my stick along the public railings
And make up for the sobriety of my youth.
I shall go out in my slippers in the rain
And pick flowers in other people's gardens
And learn to spit.

You can wear terrible shirts and grow more fat
And eat three pounds of sausages at a go
Or only bread and pickle for a week
And hoard pens and pencils and beermats and things in boxes.

But now we must have clothes that keep us dry
And pay our rent and not swear in the street
And set a good example for the children.
We must have friends to dinner and read the papers.

But maybe I ought to practice a little now?
So people who know me are not too shocked and surprised
When suddenly I am old, and start to wear purple.

TaaDaah!

Hello all! Ohanafamily left an invite for a Mickey Bar, and I love ice cream!!!! :p

We were clapping for dizneykid, to get her new dog included on an old tag.

Hopefully a few claps in another thread will help out, so clap clap clap clap clap clap clap clap clap clap clap clap clap clap clap clap clap clap clap clap clap!

Going to read some old posts and see what I have missed.

Welcome Speed Weasel, it is always nice to see someone else from the metroplex.

Sit down, have a Mickey Bar, Pick A color and stay for a while.

I would avoid the chocolate milk in the fridge, one of the bottles is bad.
