OMG, I'm so sorry you had to cancel your trip! That had to be hard, I know how upsetting it is to look forward to a vacation and then having something come along and ruin it! Poor Farrell, I was in her situation 2 years ago when we were supposed to go in September 2009 and had to postpone our trip til November, it's a hard decision to make, but I think you did the right thing! I hope her dad is ok, and I hope you find the time to take your trip soon and that someone will go with you!

I've never had something like this happen to me before, so it was all new territory for me. It was so overwhelming to have to deal with. In the end, I know that we did the right thing.

I'm glad too that he doesn't have a blockage. That would have definitely been the worst case scenario.

Such good news about Farrell's dad; you did the right thing sticking around town with everything up in the air. That sounds like such a scary situation, even if it's good news.

It definitely was the best thing to do. It was a scary situation for her. I'm just glad the worst is over now.

I'll let you know what I come up with. Hopefully something before you're on your way. Only 3 days!!!

Boy, I am off for one weekend and major changes occur!! So sorry about missing out on going! What mixed emotions you must have had! But I am glad that Farrell's dad got better reports than initially expected. Also good luck on all those future plans!!

That's good news to hear Farrell's dad isn't in the worst case scenario with his health. I think it definitely is a good decision to have her come with you during New Year's, she definitely needs some time, but if you can I would take your own chance to go for F&W with her or anyone. I'm sure it will be something to relax you since you do seem a bit frazzeled by this, cancelling a trip right before it happens is never hard. But whatever happens, happens and probably for the best

I know! It's like you missed everything. There were lots of mixed emotions, but in the end, it was always the right thing to do.

New Years is a good decision and as far as I know today should be a go. I should have more information on other plans later tonight.

Okay everyone. I have news......

I got everything squared away. Not necessarily exactly how I wanted it, but it's fine by me.

Farrell will be joining my parents and I on our New Years trip. I think I'll roll that PTR into this one. She's likely keeping the rest of her days off this week so she can be with her dad. I told her that was definitely the best option. So, I had five days that I have to use by December 31st. I work in the Accounting department, so certain days are blackouts for me. Plus, we're going into the holidays, so a lot of people are off in the next few weeks. So, I took off the week of November 7th.

Then I called my brother Chris and asked him if he would be interested in accompanying me to WDW from 11/5 - 11/12. Within 15 minutes, he had an answer for me. He could join me from 11/7 - 11/12!!

So, it's a partial (kind of) solo trip for me from 11/5 - 11/7!!!!!

Stay tuned everyone. I'll post the details soon. I'm sooooo happy, you have no idea to be able to get down there for F&W and at the same time for Farrell to be able to visit soon.
