While that is true, the latest I read was that Charles is also not very happy with the media. He says he will not "hang his son out to dry" and will not make him tour Auschwitz. Bottom line; no parent wants to be told how to discipline their child, not even the Prince of Wales. Clearly this has been a case of piling on and had I initially agreed to send my son to Auschwitz I would have changed my mind as well with all of the piling on.rubyslipperlover said:

Charles certainly knows the effects of publicity -- positive or negative -- and the royal family is very much caught up in appearances.
as for Mel Brooks -- you ridicule that which you fear to make it less terrifying.

It would take the focus off the main reason for having a memorial that day. It should be a solemn day to remember not a press event for Prince Harry.

I agree with this. His going will turn the day into a circus. The media will not be focusing on the concentration camp and what happened there, they will be trying to get the scoop on Harry.
Just to wanted to point out that it was Prince Harry, not Prince William. I, too, think it was a stupid mistake by a young man who has apologized. Let it go. If it were a no-name kid there wouldn't be any press about it at all. Of course, I always felt that these boys and their late mother shouldn't have been hounded by paparazzi like they have been.hrh_disney_queen said:I thought William was a little brighter than that. He should do whatever it takes to make amends.
