The Naughty Nuts Redux: Cocktails, Suntan Oil & Barbs!

Liz, glad to hear you'll be visiting the Doc!
Hope he's a 'he' & cute, too! ;)

No appointment today. I'm considering finding a new doctor...here's why:

I got to the medical offices that I've always gone to, at the address on the reminder card, to find them completely EMPTY. No signs, no people there, nothing. So I called and specifically said, "I have a 9:30 appointment with Dr. Harris in Enfield" (this is important, you'll see why). The girl I talked to was very nice and apologetic; she said they'd moved offices some months ago and told me where. At least I knew where it was and hauled butt across town.

Arrived with 5 minutes to spare. This new office is being shared by several different doctors, and apparently my doctor's office staff had not yet arrived. So I waited. And waited. And waited. At 9:45 the other doctor's MA called my doctor's answering service, who asked her to put me on the phone. This girl was really rude and condescending. "Okay, we've been calling you to reschedule the appointment; the doctor isn't coming this morning." I told her that I'd moved since my last appointment and asked what number they'd called. She ignored me and said, "It is YOUR responsibility as the patient to update us." I said, "I left my number when I made the appointment and I did not receive any messages." She asked me what my new number was; I told her, and she said, "Well, we don't have that one."

Anyway, I've had to reschedule for the 16th, but I'm irked. I suppose I should leave it for this year, but I'm considering changing to my mother's doctor next year. I like my doctor, but her office staff and answering service have been nothing but rude every time I've been there or called.

I'm leaving my Dr due to the office screw ups, too. That and lack of office hours.
My whole family have been in the med field, docs or support for 3 generations now & this subject comes up a lot.
I will write a letter to my dr regarding why I'm leaving & detail (dates, names) of three instances. I feel he should know while I'm happy with him, the appointments fouled up (they wrote me an app't card but didn't enter the app't in the book: TWICE! & that is just one complaint), the sloppy record keeping (DS' innoculation record; but again I keep my own records here) and lack of effort to interface w/DS' neurologist over the past 3 years (yes, it's my doc's office fault)~
Hoping your next Dr's office has their act together & knows a pleasant attitude is always a plus!

I'm wondering if I should go to my mother's doctor. My health history is starting to look a lot like hers, so having the same doctor might be a benefit. I've met him and he's very nice. Only problem I might have is that he looks like a dark-haired Viggo Mortensen... :smokin:

Quick! PM me his number! I'll be there in a nekkid minute!

That is NOT a dilemma! It is a gift from the Almighty! :woohoo:

Okay, I am telling you to see the Dr on a regular basis, like at least once a month!

does he make house calls?
:rolleyes1

He's actually kind of far away...and married...

Like that's ever stopped me... :rolleyes1

OMG! Tara is just soooo cute riding shotgun!

Are those bows in her hair? Oh tooooo sweet!:cutie:

It just crossed my tiny pea brain, have you ever painted Tara's fingernails & toenails?

And....if so, what color polish did you two agree on?

Happy Birthday Squiddy!

Hello Nuts! Semi-big storm in the KC area tonight. Tornado WATCH too. None of the above is a big deal EXCEPT lightning struck a 2.4 MILLION gallon gasoline storage tank at a petroleum plant in Kansas City, KS and the firefighters have decided just to let it burn -- over $9 miilion in gasoline up in flames and smoke.

Jumpin' Jehosephat! :scared:

Hope you & yrs are staying safe Rob! Is any of this near Rella?

Yr part of the country is just too jumpin' for me! :scared1:

Can't imagine what the loss of so much gas will do to the immediate environment & to the supply.

Be safe Rob!

I don’t drink but can I join in? I’ll eat a grape ::yes::

Liz that is too funny, we used to have a Pekingese dog that loved to do this. If we were going for a drive we would have to spell it out or he would go nuts.

Stay safe Rob, I’ll take earthquakes myself :confused3

Yes, the groomer puts bows in her ears all the time. They usually don't last this long, though; she scratches herself so much that they're usually out the same night!

Never painted her nails...she most likely wouldn't sit still long enough, and her hair covers them anyway.

Speaking of nails, I'm doing mine this morning. Toes are still Malaga Wine, but fingers will be my signature Black Satin...for those of you who are polish-speak illiterate, it's a frosty black. Kind of a gunmetal black:

Rob...so many things going through my head about burning gasoline, but I also hope no one was hurt. And isn't it better to let it burn? Wouldn't the firefighters stand a larger chance of getting hurt if they try to put it out?

Hiya Keith! Sometimes we have to spell out r-i-d-e when it comes to my dog, too. But I think she also knows how to spell...

No. She may have gotten some of the smoke over her neighborhood but I would be surprised. I'm sure there was no impact on her other than interrupted TV viewing.

Yes, I'm sure it is. They definitely would take a risk in trying to put a fire of that size out. I think the main thing they were there for was to keep it from spreading to other gasoline storage tanks and buildings in the area.

A post I saw elsewhere that's cracking me up...regarding rising gas prices...

"I went to the gas station today and asked for $5 worth. The clerk farted and handed me a receipt."
