I saw this with a friend this past weekend in Chicago. (We took a girls' shopping trip on the train from Indy for the weekend.)

This show is AMAZING. The music is wonderful. The story is very, very, very cool. Everything about it...well...words can't express!

I know there's a touring company out - but it's not making too many stops. It's at Chicago on a fairly long-term basis. Of course, it's still on Broadway. If you have any opportunity to see it - see it!

I have tickets to see it on Broadway in September; I can't wait :yay: :yay:

My DD (18) saw it on Broadway in January - she said it was so good she cried....

Oh Yeah!!!!! My family saw it a few weeks ago in Chicago for my DD's 12th birthday. It was AMAZING to say the least. I want to go again so badly. DD is heavily involved in musical theatre and she was just on the edge of her seat. She came home and told me she e-mailed Kristy Cates who plays Elphaba...well, I told her not to expect anything, blah, blah. Well just a few days later she got a very long e-mail back from her that answered all her questions, etc. I was very impressed - she didn't have to do that and she was so nice.

Any chance you get, go see "Wicked"!!! :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2

DH and I have tickets to see it here in Atlanta in May and we can't wait! I was at WDW when the tickets went on sale and just in the short time it took to get back home and realize I needed to call for tickets we had exactly TWO choices of shows we could get seats together for. Wednesday night or Thursday afternoon. I'm just thankful we got them!

I cried too - a couple of times.

Kristy Cates (Elphaba in Chicago) had the most amazing voice I have ever heard in the theater. We had the understudy for Galinda/Glinda and she was so good - I can't imagine how good the "regular" Glinda is!

The story is so cool - it explains so much about Oz. There are so many surprises. The moral is so clear about people's perceptions of other people...

Like I said --- AMAZING show!

We just got tickets right now! I am so excited! We got Orchestra level, center, about half way up. I hope these are good. The last play we went to see we got Orchestra level but off to the left and I didn't care for that. I can't wait. :Pinkbounc

Wicked is one of my very favorite musicals! We saw the touring production in Chicago last May...I listen to the soundtrack constantly!!!! Would love to go back and see it again!

I bought my husband tickets for Wicked in Chicago for his birthday. We went a few weeks ago. It was wonderful. :Pinkbounc

My sister (The LK4) and I just saw this in Pittsburgh - 2x!!! We had tickets for the last performance (which was the last perfomance for 4 of the main characters) and I WON in the lottery the Tuesday before. I was so excited to win - there were about 160 people there w/ only about 20 tickets available. :cool1: This was by far one of the best musicals I have ever seen.

Seeing it in Boston on April 22!!! Dd is so excited.

I'm hoping to see it in July in San Diego. Tickets go on sale next month :sunny:

I love the music but unfortunelty havent been able to get tickets for Boston, and beleive be i tried! I cannot even get 1 ticket and they havent even advertised it here yet!!

if anyone has an extra ticket for show in boston that they would like to sell please let me know ( any date except in Disney April 21-may 2rd)

The minute I found out it was coming on tour here I called. Tickets were only available to season pass holders and groups at that time and were not going on sale to the gen. public for months.

Group sale was a minimum of 20 tickets. I needed 6.
I said fine, sell me group tickets.
:rolleyes2
DH about flipped when I told him I spent almost $2,000 on Wicked tickets!
:guilty:

I talked to my group sales gal the other day and they actually had to stop taking requests for group ticket orders. They have NEVER done that for any other show.
They also figure what's left of the tickets will sell out in a matter of hours when they're released to the gen. public.

I have a feeling that I'm going to be VERY popular and will have no problem getting rid of the few extra tickets that are not already spoken for.

I can't wait to see the show!

Our family saw Wicked in NYC a few weeks ago. We saw Hairspray the same day. At first, I thought Wicked was a much better "production" but I liked the music from Hairspray better because it was so catchy. However, I have since gotten the piano books for both and the score for Wicked is so incredibly rich and filled with great melodies that my favorite has shifted to Wicked. Still, Hairspray was really good, too! But you won't be disappointed if you see Wicked, that's for sure...And I was shocked at the "surprise" ending of the show, too!
