Toy story mania!!!!

Well, we've had another fun day...we headed to the studios this morning and did toy story mania first...followed by honey I shrunk the kids playground and lunch at pizza planet. :) next was jedi training and playhouse disney. Now we're heading back to the CR to rest before our big night at MNSSHP. Dinner is at the kona cafe...one of my favorites!! :)

I talked to a lady here at the CR about the grab and go. She said they hit some "unexpected problems" which has delayed the construction progress. She said it should be open in a "few months"... but I'm not sure if that is accurate. She said it would be exactly like Captain Cook's... you'll order from a computer and be given a pager, when it goes off you return to get your meal. She said the menu is really a huge improvement and will offer a lot of great counter service meal choices. But as to when that will happen it's hard to tell. :(

I did witness hardhats coming and going from the chef mickey's side where they are adding on... but everything on the new grab and go side is at a standstill from what I can tell. Nothing going on over there. Maybe it has something to do with being underneath the monorail track? I don't know. :confused3

We are resting in the room now... Kona Cafe at 5:00 then MNSSHP after! :cool1:

Wow, we just saw the "castle dream lights"... awesome! :) I got some great pics.

Now we're just laying in bed watching the castle turn colors... ahhhhhh :cloud9:

Hi Erika, I'm having fun reading your trip report. Your boys are adorable! I love the picture of them waiting for Toy Story Mania. They look so excited!

Just a question, how did you get to see the castle dream lights? Were they testing them out? Thanks! :goodvibes

Can't wait to hear about MNSSP, have fun! I've only been to Kona for lunch but we loved it, I could've just been really hungry but I would go back. I'd like to check out the sushi bar at the Poly, I'm guessing it's in the bar area?

That view from your room is spectacular!! WOW! Enjoying your report. :)

Great Trip Report! popcorn:: So how are the crowds?:confused3 I have been reading on other posts that crowd levels have been busier than usual for this time of year. We leave Sat. for a 4 day get-away/F & W induglence:love: and I was hoping for lower crowd levels and cooler weather. I think I will get the cooler weather, but wondering about the crowds :sad2:

There haven't been any crowds since we've been here. :) We overheard a CM tonight at MNSSHP say they only sold 14,000 tickets... all rides were walk-ons. It was easy to find spots for the parades and fireworks, candy lines weren't bad at all. I assume crowds will pick up for the weekend... I'll report back tomorrow to let you guys know. :)

The sushi bar is located on the 2nd floor right next to the Kona Cafe in the "Kona Coffee" area. It looked pretty good. :)

I'm not sure... they were on last night for quite a long time. MK closed at 8:00 so maybe they were testing them out? Or having some kind of special event over there? They were beautiful!!!! :)

After spending the day at the studios we came back to the CR for a break and to get ready for MNSSHP. Dinner was at the Kona Cafe and it was great as always. DH and I both got the teriyaki new york strip steak... sticky wings appetizer... kilaleua torte for dessert! YUMMMM :cloud9:

We made it over to MK around 6:40 which was perfect timing to await the festivities. We started back in Toon Town and did all the candy stops to Tomorrowland... then Buzz, TTA, over to Fantasyland, Pooh, Haunted Mansion, Splash Mountain, Pirates, everything was a walk-on. ;)

Headed to the hub for fireworks and parade... around 10:30 it started POURING rain :scared1: so we watched the parade from Main Street and then headed out the exit. Took the monorail back to the CR and got to bed around 11:40. ;)

Now this morning it's raining :( and supposed to rain all day. :(

We have Crystal Palace breakfast in just a few minutes so we're running off now! I'll update more later. Ohana dinner tonight.... EMH's at Epcot. Let's hope the rain can stop!!! :scared:

Ahh, Your at breakfast right now at CP. And I'm getting ready to leave for work. Mentally, I'm with you!!!:rotfl:

Very cool live report, just stumbled across it!!

Yes, you load a card with points. $10 for 600 points... games range from 10 points up to 175 points each. :)

Don't forget you can also spend $20.00 and get 1000 points.

Now, correct me if I'm wrong, but why buy 1000 for $20, when it was 600 for $10? Wouldnt that mean buying 2 $10's would get 1200, when a $20 would only get 1000?? :confused3 Or that must be some 'new math' :lmao:

Tromping around MK in the rain!!!! Ugh!!!! :(

Pooh breakfast was fun though :)
