The goal of this trip was to relax and enjoy ourselves. I know all of you are chuckling right now because we are Disney people. We don't usually say "relax" and "Disney" in the same sentence.

We were on a mission, a relaxation mission. I'm not going to tell you if it worked or not, you'll have to read along and see how we did. ;)

I'll start with the introductions:

Me, Drea. I'm a SAHM and the planner of the family. I have loved WDW all my life. My relatives lived in Cocoa Beach when I was growing up so we would head to Florida once every few years and spend a day or two at WDW. In college, I worked in Toon Town on the CP. It was the fastest summer of my life, and I loved every moment of it.

DH, Rob. He went to WDW once as a child, but doesn't really remember it at all. He went along on our first trip to quiet me down and he really enjoyed it. I wouldn't say he is "in love" with WDW, but I would say he hasn't said no to any of our trips or my trip suggestions. :) He leaves the planning to me as long as he can read the menus and help pick out our dining reservations.

DD, A. She's 3. Enough said? No, she has her moments but overall she is a good girl who loves her some Little Einsteins. She also holds a special place in her heart for Woody and Jessi, and thinks Buzz is "cool".

DS, B. He turned 1 in September and is a crazy walking boy. He loves his Momma and wants me to hold him 24 hours a day. He's a good traveler and as long as he has Mom and sister by his side, he's fine.

Here's a picture of us from the trip:

Love the picture of the four of you. So cute.

I really can't wait to read if the relaxation happened or not.

So in! I am excited to see how much relaxing happened. And your opinion on SSR and the 1 bedroom.... I am always thinking and considering.

I woke up around 6 am on this day. Our flight was at 10:30, so I showered finished our last minute packing and started breakfast.

Rob got up and got himself ready and went and got the kids. The first thing out of A.'s mouth was "Are we going to Disney World now?" She was so excited.

We put a sticker on our chart, ate breakfast, and we were out the door.

Right before we entered security Rob reminded me that this was a RELAXING trip and to just take our time. So, with that on my mind, I didn't flip out and security was smooth.

We stopped for our coffee and hot tea and went to our gate. Things went so smooth in fact we had almost an hour to wait. With two small children. :scared1: Luckily, we spotted this right across the aisle.

Rob took the kids over there and they played for 1/2 an hour. He brought me back B. and took A. to the potty/get drinks for the ride. B. was hyped at this point and was running around like a mad man.

Here's my lame attempt of trying to keep him trapped.

It worked for about 2.2 seconds and he was off running again.

Luckily it was quickly time to board and we were on our way!! The flight was going great until about 1/2 hour before landing. B. lost it. He was crying, and not just any cry. That screaming cry that makes your eardrums hurt. He did this for around 20 minutes and then just stopped. It was strange and very welcoming at the same time.

We landed, collected our 1,000 bags and headed to the car rental counter.

We always have the worst luck with cars. But, there was not one single person in line and we were in and out. Before we knew it we were driving away in a 2009 Jeep Cherokee that was packed to the top in the back and all other available space taken.

At this point it was around 1 pm. We still hadn't eaten lunch and the check-in for our off-site hotel wasn't until 3. What to do, what to do. After some discussion we decided to head to Wal-Mart and pick up some groceries for our stay and eat at whatever fast food place was near.

When we pulled up, we saw they had McDonald's so that was our first stop. I was so happy because I have this little addiction to their sweet tea. :cool2: After a quick lunch (we were hungry and it showed) we did our shopping and were on our way.

At this point it was around 2-2:15. We decided to head to the Sheraton to see if we could get our room.

Coming up next: Will our room be ready? Will our milk go bad? Why is it so cold?!

You know, as far as a travel day goes it sounds pretty low key so far. Except for Baby B crying on the plane but even that doesn't sound completely horrible. He looks so adorable being trapped.

Thank you! We only got 2 family shots on our camera this year. :sad2:

You'll have to wait and see!!

I'll just say once you have stayed in a 1 bedroom you will never want to stay anywhere else. It's a slippery slope.

It really wasn't that bad. The airport was really not that busy, so that helped and I think me not feeling stressed helped out a lot too.

He was a little stinker and just kept running and laughing, thus the lack of pictures this first day.

Awww I'm totally in!!! Glad to hear the start of your trip was hassle free, poor B!!!! I'm glad you had some great luck with the car!! Can't wait to see you at Disney!!!!

I can imagine the two family shots.... Luke is never still, and I know B is in front of him in the walking category. I could barely stand him at the pumpkin patch, let alone WDW!

As for the 1 bedroom.... we will be forced to once Luke is three, so that really is only the next two years....but I think the kitchen area is awfully appealing for next summer.... but studios are so many less points....

running and laughing.... Kohls last Friday night!

I'm here! I am so excited that you have started! Travel day sounds pretty low-key so far (except for B.'s crying fit). :thumbsup2

I'm here!

Sounds like a REALLY good travel day with a 3 year old and a 1 year old! I hope that is a sign of things to come for the trip. :goodvibes

Your trips sounds like it is off to a great start!

We all had colds during our trip and are still trying to get better. All of the schools here are canceled till Tuesday because so many people are sick!

My little ones did good on the plane…only a few loud noises from them. It is so exhausting to get through the airport. My parents helped. I don't know if I could manage with just DH and I. Its hard for me to relax.

Your DS looks so cute at the airport! I can't wait to hear more about your trip!

I am here and ready to hear about the whole trip! :happytv:

The picture of your son looking back smiling before dashing off again reminded me of when mine were so little. They are so adorable at that age... wears you out but adorable just the same!

sorry I'm a little late but I'm glad I made it!!!!!

Sounds like a good first morning :) Your DS looks just like a little boy at my school that is about his age!!
Can't wait to hear about the rest of the day!!!

We're planning our trip right now and I want it to be relaxing... taking breaks mid-day, etc. Looking forward to hearing what y'all did to relax at the World.
:yoda:

Hey everyone! Thank you for following along. Disney gave me a parting gift...the flu! It's terrible!! A. had a fever for about 24 hours and she was fine. It's still lingering with me though. I went to bed at 6:30 last night and slept until about 5 this morning. :sad2:

I'll do personal responses and a new update (it's almost ready) hopefully tonight or tomorrow. Thanks again!
