Day 3 April 25, 2006
Here we were
Already Tuesday Morning. We had already been here two days and time was unfortunately flying by. We just finished a MAGICAL day at MK. I mean how can you beat it? Michelle was brought to tears when she saw Mickey; we got to pose with the likes of Stitch, Lilo and Pluto. We got to do all the major attractions such as POC, IASW and HM. WOW! We had done a lot and both Michelle and I agreed that MK was absolutely with a doubt the best theme park we had ever visited. Busch Gardens in Williamsburg was my #1 for a long time and still is a favorite but nothing can compare to the MK. Just Magical in everyway. There is a special feel to this park that I cant describe. Walking down Main St is wonderful and gives you the feeling that you have been there before. We hated to leave after watching Wishes. But of course this was a first trip to Disney for both of us and we were ready to venture to the rest of the World!
Next on the Agenda
. EPCOT! Man was I excited
Mission Space, Soarin, The Living Seas, World Show Case, Test Track
I was pumped. But for some reason at the Bus stop I decided at the last minute to push EPCOT to later in the week. I was so excited that I thought it would be nice to be leading up to that park. BUT WAIT! This would really mess up my ADRs. I had scheduled us to eat at Teppenyaki for lunch and Alfredos for dinner and then Illuminations. I decided that Michelle and I needed to do what we wanted to and make the ADRs as we go. So now we had to make the life changing decision: Animal Kingdom or MGM?

We got in the AK line at first but then at the last minute we jumped in the MGM line as their bus pulled up. People probably thought that I was either stupid or crazy but sometimes I like to be spontaneous and choose something at the last minute.

I had just changed the whole itinerary for the week but I didnt care
We were in Disney World!
So we hopped on the bus to MGM. As we drove up of course I was excited but not as much as the day before. As we walked in we immediately saw the big hat and theatre behind it. It was cool and all but for some reason my excitement level wasnt the same as it was at MK. Anyway we went on and hit the behind the scenes tour and the movie about Walt Disney. The tour was alright but kind of comical because of an older couple we met. As we were boarding tram the older couple that would be sitting on our seat with us ask us if Michelle and I would like to go in first. We said sure and sat down. Once the doors to the tram we closed the couple laughed hysterically. They told us that they had been on this ride a million times and that the left always gets wetter then the right. Well, maybe by chance or Devine intervention, I dont know but those two ended up getting wetter than we did. But it was all in fun and very cute. I hope Michelle and I can grow old together and one day can say that we have visited the world many, many times!
Anyway after unloading from the tour we continued on and decided to hit Honey I shrunk the kids playground. We found this to be fun, well more fun for her. Im a big guy and its not so much fun trying to get in and out of those little bitty holes. Ugghhhh but it was our honeymoon what the heck! Very Cool setup and you have to love the big ant spitting water at you.

After tackling that project (and standing up straight again) we finally found Muppet Vision 3D. I have to say that I thought this park was very confusing with the layout. I don't know what but I was constantly getting turned around and lost. We had a hard time finding certain things but at this point we still were not use to this park. Looking for Muppet Vision was a challenge until a cast member pointed me to the hot air balloon on top of the attraction. This movie was really fun and so far the best of the day but still I was left a tad disappointed. Maybe it was because this was older then philhar Magic and I was comparing the two. I dont know but we trekked on and by this point we were both very hungry and to our surprise right there down the street was the 50s prime time diner. It looked good and I remember the good reviews. This place reminded me of my grandparents house inside and that was neat. I had never made an ADR for this place but decided anyway to give it a try. We waited in a short line and found out the wait was about 45 minutes. That was too long for us but we were told that we could sit at the bar and be served right away. This was wonderful and as we turned to walk to the bar "Stupid People" appeared.Another couple which was right behind us pushed us out of the way and grabbed the last two remaining seats at the bar. This was out of line and uncalled for! It's amazing how rude and disrespectful some people can be. This made my DW extremely upset. VERY UPSET as well as me but I can hold me temper better then she. I love her very much but she can have a hot temper from time to time and this almost pushed her over the edge. I had to calm her down because to me it wasnt worth a fight with two strangers.

Sometimes its better just to keep your mouth shut and avoid trouble. Some people have a different philosophy but this way of thinking has kept me out of trouble and prison. Very disappointed we headed around the corner after seeing Sci Fi on the map. I did have ADR's for this place but remember that we changed our iteneray for the week and everything was mixed up. Walking inside it was very crowded. We waited in line and were told that we would have an hour wait. Disappointed once again we decided to eat at a counter service but made reservations for Sci Fi that night at 6:20. We ended up settling for the ABC Commissary which was gross.

The Burgers were like sand paper and the fries were like Jell-O. YUCK. I hated we wasted our credits on this place but it did help tie us over for a while. After lunch we hit the movie ride. I really didn't care to get on this but I'm glad I did. You can tell it is "aged" but it brings you down memory land and many of the movies you gre up watching. The Wizard of oz scene was really realistic. If you've riden this ride you are aware of the part where a mobster steals your vehicle. I found this to be very corny. The guy playing the mobster acted as if he didn't care at all and just sat there and stared. Well after a nice long morning of walking, waiting and adventuring it was once again time for an afternoon break at the POP! AH nice comfortable clean, KING bed. You cant beat it!
All rested up and refreshed we headed back for MGM. Walking down the street to Tower or Terror and Rockin Roller Coaster I came to a realization of why I was not really excited about this park. It was because I was comparing it to MK and you cant do that. Each park is different and special in its own way. MK is the standard, MK is the original, MK is considered by many to be the best park in the world. MGM is a Disney Movie Park and thats all it is. MGM is not MK its MGM. It was special in its own way. Once I realized this I looked at this park in a totally different way and so did Michelle. Now I was really enjoying this park for what it was and all of its features. The outlook of the day changed and that excitement from MK now as back. We headed straight for the TOT which had no line and the wait was a total of 1 minute. Very nice themed ride, probably the best Ive ever seen. The only part I didnt like was that at the top it was stuck for about 2 minutes. Nothing! No movement, no sound, no video, nothing. The elevator eventually came back to its senses and ride resumed. Very cool and fun ride! We immediately hit the rockin roller coaster to the right of TOT. Once again very little wait which surprised me. This ride was very cool and right there close to the top of favorites! It reminds me of a better version of Space Mountain. Following the coaster we hit Indiana Jones, which was very entertaining and then off to Sci Fi. Let me start off by saying that if you have and ADR to this place
KEEP IT. On a scale from 1 to 10 the food was maybe a 6 but atmosphere was a 12! Awesome atmosphere and you get to sit in a car and watch old Sci Fi Flicks. One funny thing that I want to mention is what I asked our waitress where the bathrooms were, she told me behind the fence in the bushes. She was right! Very cool place and tons of fun.
After our dinner at Sci Fi I figure we can ride the TOT and Rockin 1 more time before sitting for fantasmic. Well walking by the theatre entrance I was blown away. 1 hour before show time and people were pouring in. We both decided that before we ride, lets go look at the crowd and then decide. Once we saw the crowd we went ahead to get a seat which was on the slight left hand side of the theatre. The place was already filling up. For the next hour we were bombarded with kids with light thingies and the crowd constantly trying to start the wave. The sun eventually set on a beautiful day and Fantasmic started. All I can say is WOW. What a show. From the fountians to the lasers to the float boats, this was a master piece. Something that I'm sure Walt would be proud of. Magnificent show with awesome effects. This is a must do for everyone especially the WDW firstimerss! Michelle was awestruck at what she had just seen. As I have said in earlier reports, she has never been anywhere like this so getting bombarded by Disney 24/7 was like a dream for her and fantasmic was the cherry on top. We had a blast!
After the show I really hated to leave because the park was closing. Its amazing how my feelings changed toward this park from the morning to now. Upon arrival and walking around a little, I really didnt like this park but now I was having a blast and hated to leave. I will offer this advice to any other first timers to the parks. Accept each park for what it is and appreciate it. Theyre each special in their own way. Mk is not AK and AK is not MGM. Theyre all wonderful and pure Disney! By the end of this day we were exhausted and headed back to POP for a little rest, relaxation, TV and sleep. We better get our rest
It was just ½ way through the most MAGICAL trip EVER!
