The Most Expensive Free Trip Ever - TR Link is Up! Pg. 164

Ok, stupid question of the day...

In your introductory chapter, you are all wearing leis. Did you get those when you got there (wherever that somewhere was) or did you bring them with you?

I have one here in Crapistan, and am wondering if I should bring it to wear for our 'Ohana dinner or not. Did you get one when you checked into the POLY?? If so, I'll throw this one out, and save 2 ounces in my luggage.

We got them at our 'Ohana dinner. They're bribes that they give to get the kids to participate in the coconut/broom races and to get the adults to hula.

Holy Cow! I get to hula dance??!! :hyper: I'm liking this dinner more and more! First it's gyoza, and now hula dancing?

Totally just kidding. They're going to have to give me a heck of a lot more than a 30 cent lei for me to do that! :lmao:

im with you glenn, but i just play dumb sometimes, works to my advantage, but then i usually get hit, so not my advantage, so its a no win situation for me.

so i have to ask are you a flyers fan? you know my blackhawks are going to throw a beat down starting saturday night.

Buffet tables (of free food!)
Free food... oh so beautiful words :thumbsup2

So guys, here’s a lesson for you. Sometimes what your wife is saying, really is just information. Good luck in your quest to figure it out.
LOL! I think that quest will take more than just luck... it's patience... lots of it! Or magic!!! :rotfl:

It wasn’t the way we wanted to end our visit to the parks, but Judy was in too much pain to stay a minute longer.
So sorry to hear that... was it something related to the neck pain she had last year?

We've never been to Ohana for dinner, but we all got the leis(eses) at the character breakfast as incentive (cajoling, bribery, inducement) for standing in line to have your family portrait made (while you wait for your ADR); the ones they try to sell you for oh so way too much at your table while you eat. I think they do that thinking you don't want to be disturbed and you'll just go ahead and purchase them to get rid of them.

Yeah, I do that too, but DW doesn't think I'm playing......:confused3

Yup.

Oh c'mon, you're at Disney. Have some fun. You won't be there by yourself will you? I mean, that's not a solo day, is it? 'Cause it would be a little weird to hula by yourself.

im with you glenn, but i just play dumb sometimes, works to my advantage, but then i usually get hit, so not my advantage, so its a no win situation for me.

I have a self-depricating joke that goes like this, "Don't play dumb with me -- 'cause you'll lose!"

Yes, quite often it's a no-win situation. :sad2:

so i have to ask are you a flyers fan? you know my blackhawks are going to throw a beat down starting saturday night.

Not really. I mean, I'll root for them over the Blackhawks, but I didn't grow up around here so I don't have any deep-seeded love for the pro sports teams here. In fact, I completely forgot about the big game 7 versus the Bruins where they had to come from behind, losing 3 to 1, to win and move on. I found out while watching the news, and I was like, "Oh yeah, I probably should have watched that one."

My big sports love is the Nittany Lions. If they lose, I have a bad day. And on pro teams, I look for the PSU alums. What can I say? I almost don't understand it myself.

I couldn't agree more. At work, I and another guy call ourselves the "hallway carp" because we alert each other to free food that's left over from meetings and things.

Hey, are you referring to me?

Just kidding. No, that one was ride-induced, and still present I might add, although not as bad as when it first occurred. This was completely different.

You make it sound like Disney's just trying to get your money. ;)

Yeah, I do that too, but DW doesn't think I'm playing......:confused3

Oh that sounds like a convenient excuse.

Wives :bride: gotta love 'em.

I'm picturing the cantina scene from Star Wars episode 4 (or, the "original" Star Wars as we like to call it.)

CREATURE: Negola dewaghi wooldugger?!?

The hideous freak is obviously drunk. Luke tries to ignore
the creature and turns back on his drink. A short, grubby
Human and an even smaller rodent-like beast join the
belligerent monstrosity.

HUMAN: He doesn't like you.

LUKE: I'm sorry.

HUMAN: I don't like you either

The big creature is getting agitated and yells out some
unintelligible gibberish at the now rather nervous, young
adventurer.

HUMAN: (continued) Don't insult us. You just watch yourself. We're
wanted men. I have the death sentence in twelve systems.

LUKE: I'll be careful than.

HUMAN: You'll be dead.

The rodent lets out a loud grunt and everything at the bar
moves away. Luke tries to remain cool but it isn't easy. His
three adversaries ready their weapons. Old Ben moves in behind
Luke.

BEN: This little one isn't worth the effort. Come let me buy you
something...

A powerful blow from the unpleasant creature sends the
young would-be Jedi sailing across the room, crashing through
tables and breaking a large jug filled with a foul-looking
liquid. With a blood curdling shriek, the monster draws a
wicked chrome laser pistol from his belt and levels it at old
Ben. The bartender panics.

BARTENDER: No blasters! No blaster!

With astounding agility old Ben's laser sword sparks to
life and in a flash an arm lies on the floor. The rodent is
cut in two and the giant multiple-eyed creature lies doubled,
cut from chin to groin. Ben carefully and precisely turns off
his laser sword and replaces it on his utility belt. Luke,
shaking and totally amazed at the old man's abilities, attempts
to stand. The entire fight has lasted only a matter of seconds.
The cantina goes back to normal, although Ben is given a
respectable amount of room at the bar. Luke, rubbing his
bruised head, approaches the old man with new awe.

Now I'm beginning to wonder if you and DH weren't somehow separated at birth. If I could get him to actually come read this (he's registered on the DIS, but very very rarely logs in) he'd be beside himself. He's one of those people that no one can beat at Star Wars trivial pursuit. No one comes anywhere close! Of course, he's not a purist...he actually wrote out the first twenty minutes of the movie Spaceballs with his two roommates in college on several dry erase boards (they kept erasing them and writing over them). :rotfl:

I know that post was from a while ago, but I had a lot of catching up to do (about ten pages, actually)! My last teacher day was today, so I am one happy camper! :cool1: I might actually get to spend some time on the DIS now between my grad classes and getting ready for Disney. Unfortunately, I'm responsible for writing a 5-6 page paper for one of my classes before we leave...two weeks from tomorrow...no, there's no freaking out going on here...:scared1:

Anyway, glad to see you're going to try and make Hyperspace Hoopla. DH has already snuck a peak at this year's show on YouTube...apparently, Vader's bit is really good. He says he's just looking at it to see where he needs to stand to get the best video angle...yeah, right.

Oh - I liked your events list from Steve Soars' site! I need to head over there and make one of my own, as I'm the tour guide for our group. That'd be a good thing to pass out...

Yes, we were separated at birth -- just like Luke and Leia.

I'm not sure how well I'd do at Star Wars trivial pursuit. It'd be interesting to find out though.

Lucky you, that you're done. Judy goes right up until we leave for our trip (and actually supposed to be working while we're on our trip, of course, with the snow days). She may even have to go to the graduation ceremony the night before we fly out. We have to leave reaaaaly early in the morning to go to the airport, so I don't know when she'll sleep.

Anyway, glad to see you're going to try and make Hyperspace Hoopla. DH has already snuck a peak at this year's show on YouTube...apparently, Vader's bit is really good. He says he's just looking at it to see where he needs to stand to get the best video angle...yeah, right.

I wouldn't mind hearing that information, where to stand, if he can relay it. :)

Steve does all the work, I just copied it. But, I'm glad to make you aware of it.

The pics of the kids are so cute.

I thought you were going to do your trip report from the park and now you say that you aren't bringing your computer.:rotfl:

Sorry to hear about Judy's back. I remember years ago I was on a camping trip with the Girl Scouts and my back went out and I couldn't stand up all the way. So for 2 days I was walking and looking at the floor. Then the next day I was good as new. I get back pain every now and again but never like that.

At least you got the husband and wife thing down because it makes for a much happier marriage. It took my husband years but he did get it.

Oh, sorry I gave that impression somewhere along the line. I may check in on my phone at some point, but it's pretty hard to post with it, so if I do, it'll just be to say hi.

Oooo, that sounds awful. That's amazing that it turned around so quickly.

We do pretty well. Despite Mars and Venus and all that.

i never really follow the hawks either not much of a hockey fan, but will route for them since they are playing for the championship...

i like your complex cheering systems but it makes sense to me.
:thumbsup2

I ever so want to say a lot about this update, but sadly, I only have like 10 minutes at a time here and there lately.

Let's see.... Neck pain. I can totally relate, and feel awful that this wrecked Judy's evening. P.U.

Communication. I think you nailed that one perfectly. I hint once or twice, get rather exhasperated after a couple of tries at "being nice" and have to revert to just being direct.

Fantasmic must be pretty good for you to have agreed to see it twice. We've already hashed this one out; I think I'm more inclined to give it a try now though, than before I read your TR.

Just as often I'm saying "see that guy who dropped that pass -- Penn Stater". Or, "see that guy who just got the penalty called on him? Yep."

Oh, you have a very good kicker up there in Chicago....has won a few games for you as time expired. Mmmm hmmmm -- Penn Stater. :thumbsup2

I say, "just tell me" -- don't get mad at me for something I've completely missed. :duck: The direct manner of speaking isn't as distasteful to guys as it is to women (my opinion).

It is good, especially if you've never seen it.
