So what do I do when I have serious Disney on the brain and nothing to do?

Why, go to the zoo, of course!

We trekked out to the Dallas zoo today. (had never been, had only gone to the Fort Worth Zoo)

But no, I can't escape Disney...

They had what they called a "monorail". It was an open-air tram on a rail that took you to go look at different habitats. Here's picture from inside:

Then, at one point, we get to go under a waterfall. I can't help shouting out, "It's the ever-elusive backside of water!" Of course, no one in our car got it but my DS9.

And of course, lunch was $32 for reheated hot dogs and grilled chicken sandwiches. My soda in a souvie cup was $5. Just like home!

I volunteered there every Saturday from the time I was 11 to 18, then worked in the reptile department during the summers in college. This makes me a little nostalgic. :)

I haven't been able to go since they did the "re-model", but I love the Dallas Zoo. FW is good too, but I'm a Dallas girl at heart.

I like the redone Dallas zoo. It's not as nice as Fort Worth but a lot closer. Plus remember that all of those ridiculous prices help support the zoo. At least that's what I keep telling myself.
