The method for getting a PIN worked for me and many others!!! YMMV

I followed the above instructions a few days ago but I said I did not need accomodations. I then was asked where I was staying and I said a non-disney resort. I got a 20/30/40% pin a few days later but unfortunately not for my dates. I stated that I was going Dec 21 but the pin is only good up until the 16th. When people are saying they got a pin "good up until the end of the year", do they really mean until Dec 31st?

I think what is meant by that is "most" dates through the end of the year. There are definitely "black out dtaes". I'm sorry it did not work for your travel dates.

Just fyi it worked for me.

I deleted all of my itineraries and my saved offers. I then created one itinerary for a trip stating I was staying offsite because I didn't think a disney resort was the best value for me and voila. Got the 20/30/40 Pin Code this morning that will work with our trip in November. Good bye ASM and hello Wilderness Lodge!

I tried it multiple ways and then stopped and re read and followed the directions exactly and there it was. Hope it works for you all too.

I've tried that exact same thing multiple times and have yet to get a PIN in my name. My 76 y/o mom who only goes when I take her, never goes online for anything, and has never even spoken to a CM has received two in the last year. Disney should not even have her name, except as a guest in my room.

I tried these exact methods with my email address and my husband's. We both got PINS yesterday (about 4 days after we did all of it,) but they were for Free QSD which we already got in March and can't use, unfortunately. I mean we could use them, but the current promotion is a little better deal for us because there are only 2 of us. We also go in the summer, and since it's so hot, we like to do more small meals/snacks and the plan didn't really fit our eating style. Guess we'll keep waiting I wish I could share these. I now have 5 Free QSDP PINS!

[Thanks for a good laugh! I needed one since I NEVER get any pins EVER and have tried everything here with the itineraries and everything else, bla bla bla. The only time I ever received anything was ONE SINGLE postcard back in the dark ages (8 years ago or so?) when AKL first opened up.

I followed the instructions and did get a pin But its for the free cs dining, and ends Aug 14th. The odd thing is that I am registered on the disney site and any pins that I seem to get are in my moms name but come to my email addresse Our rooms last year were booked in her name so maybe thats why? I did try to tell this to a cm over the phone and was kind of dismissed. I guess it dosent really matter since she is going with us this year anyway... I am going to go on there and re do the itinerary today and see what happens

Yes, each time I have spoken to them they have one of my, let's say, five email addresses, all correct. I'm just one of those people on the No Pin list. I've taken ten trips to Disney since 1997, plus four Disney cruises, and aside from my one lone postcard around 2002 for a stay specifically at Animal Kingdom, there has been nothing.

I will have to agree with the poster here that said this method is not 100%. So as to not get everyone's hopes up waiting for a pin with no success, you (and I) can't count on it. Sorry.

After following the thread for several days, and admittingly trying the pin trick..I sit here thinking about whether this is appropriate or not. Should posters be correct, isnt this an attempt at HACKING the disney site? Minimally it is manipulating an offer that is computer generated, and in limited quantities.
I am wondering, if this is the trick, how Disney will respond knowing that disboarders have figured out how to manipulate the system. The result cant be pretty..

It's still not 100% - so I hardly see how it matters. If you were never intended to get one, you're not. It's fairly simple.

Welcome to the DIS!!!

Sadly, discounts for Christmas are far and few between and you may end up disappointed if you are relying on one. Here is a list of the previous discounts along with their expiration dates:

Note that some of the discounts ended on the last day of the "Stay Dates" while others could be extended past the end date as long as you checked in by that date.

I think you might be overthinking it a bit.
Saving vacations or itinerarys on the Disney website is a far cry from hacking into the Disney system.
How is it *manipulating* an offer when no one has any idea how or if it works? People are not doing anything they shouldn't be doing on the website. Not to mention there is absolutely NO proof that anything actually does work. I think you are giving us all way to much credit in saying that we have actually cracked the case of the mysterious Disney PIN system.

That method worked for me too. The pin came in about a week. Mine had little bit better values though. Awesome!

It worked for me as well. Too well actually. I started getting pins in Nov/December and they havn't stopped yet. I have also snagged them for a friend for her first visit using that method.

I am thinking bookings must be down for summer and thats why were are getting so many pins. I have received the free QSDP pin twice via email, 1 time via snail mail, got it in my DH's name via email, got it in my mothers & fathers name via email (who have never been to disney) and got a snail mail on in my fathers name to an old address of ours (friend lives there now and brings me the mail).

I see that others have created new Disney logins using a different email address. If I don't get a pin, say within two weeks, I was thinking of doing the same.

BUT, my mom already booked at POFQ. So I was thinking that she'd be less likely to get a pin AND that I'd be less likely to get a pin too, because I'm using my parents' address as my address while I'm living in Liberia. So the question is, should I make a new Disney login using an old address of mine? And if I do that, will I have problems using a pin if it's connected to my old address (ie not the address now connected to my credit card)?

Sorry, I don't know the answer to your question about using your old address, BUT, just because your mom is already booked doesn't mean you she (or you) won't get a pin. I booked our Sept trip back in January and just last week I got the 20/30/40 PIN via the email that I'm booked under. I've also gotten multiple free QSDP pins to that email addy and others. So, don't give up hope.

Just for the record, before I received my PIN, I registered my DH's email and followed the "tricks" and a few days later he received the 30/35/40 PIN. I've never recieved pins before this yr, now they are coming every other day, to all my email accts that Disney is aware of.
