......was AMAZING!!!!!!!

grrrrr. I want to go SO BADLY! I haven't been in years. We almost dragged the kids to "family night" at our local one on Sunday even though DS was still in his football clothes because I wanted to go so badly.
I went once and was incredibly underwhelmed. We had the Big Night Out dinner. I liked the cheese fondu alright and the dessert was OK, but the dinner one (we chose a wine something or other, I think) was rather blah.
Because of all of the oil pots on the tables for frying, my wool coat smelled like french fries for a few days - grody to the max!
Melting Pot?????
What is this? LOL, yes I get it's a restaurant, but is it all fondue stuff? That sounds like HEAVEN!!!! Unfortunately, I have NEVER had any kind of fondue, but everytime time I see it on TV, I want to lick the TV screen. It looks sooooo yummy. I really want to try a cheese one, one of those that you cook the meat in and definately the chocolate one. MMMMMMMMMMM
I have never seen one of those in these parts of the woods. Are they basically in the big cities? Any in CT, RI or MA???
We went to the Melting Pot on New year's Eve, and had a blast. The chocolate for dessert was amazing. If I could've stuck my face in the pot, I would've. The cheese fondue would've been better if they didn't put the wine in with it. I detest wine in cooking....gross.
But the meat was awesome. We had the vegetable based boulion.
Somebody mentioned that their jacket smelled of fry oil...odd since they don't use oil. It's broth.

I love the Melting Pot!! Ours opened last year, and I've been twice (once for our anniversary, and once for girls night). The food is great, and the service (at our location, anyway) is PHENOMENAL!! Both times I went, they bent over backwards to make sure we had a good experience. Service is lacking in a lot of restaurants these days, so when we experience great service, we are blown away!![]()
I think at some Melting Pots you can get the oil though I don't know why anyone would. That IS gross.
The court bouillon is excellent as is the coq au vin and the mojo sauce.
