The Melting Pot.....

Somebody mentioned that their jacket smelled of fry oil...odd since they don't use oil. It's broth.

They have oil options. We had it once and yuck! I believe its called Bourguignonne. Its one of four cooking styles for their Entrees.

I do like the cheese and dessert though.

I love the Melting Pot!!! What's not to love.....melted cheese & a big pot of chocolate with peanutbutter for dessert!! Love, love their California salad--raspberry walnut vinaigrette is to die for. We also love the Coq au Vin cooking style. I have their cookbook so I can have a Melting Pot night any time!!! :)

We love the Melting Pot...and not just b/c my son is a GM of one. Yes, it is expensive (even with son being GM...) but worth it once in a while. You can also get just "cheese and chocolate" (we add salads). We do not prefer the oil cooking method however one time my son shared some "inside info" that we tried and liked...they had a batter that you could dip food into and then fry...secret part was that they take broccoli and stick pieces of shredded cheese in between the floret head...then dip in batter...then fry. We were trying all kinds of stuff that way (still usually stay away from the oil cooking method though).
I feel that just like anything else, either you enjoy it or not.
P.S. I like my homemade cheese fondue better than the MP...shhh...don't tell my son!

Queen Makeda, and all the other amazing restaurants I've been to, has spoiled me for life. I went and really didn't like it.

We love going for dessert!

We went to one in the Tampa area on our honeymoon, did the whole meal, and we liked it and it was a special experience for us, but it's not our favorite for a meal....

We would go back every now and then for the meal, but man whenever we are in a new city we try to get dessert at MP if there is one around!

NOt a huge fan, but enjoy the atmosphere. It is a good date night, for just wine and dessert. Some of the tables are very private.. always good for a little smooch or two lol.

My daughter and I love the Melting Pot- she was mad that I left her home this past weekend and went with friends!
Our server showed us the "Broccoli bomb" thing too but also one to make stuffed mushrooms- its with one of the soft cheese dips they give you, you fill the mushroom, dip it in the tempura batter and fry it up- its wonderful! We always got the broths the cook with but now we ask for a table with a double burner so we can enjoy both! We get the spinach artichoke dip to start and its wonderful! The oil is very easy to use- you just dip your food into the tempura and put it in the oil- as soon as it turns a nice golden brown you are done! I prefer to cook the chicken like that rather than boiling it. My daughter hates anything fried so we always get the court bouillon for her.
