The Meanest Mother in the World--A L-B TR, 5/05 *DONE. p.65, with one last pic*

I printed it out and brought it with me. Read it by the Poly pool everytime DH left to get drinks. :thumbsup2 Can't wait to read the rest!

BTW, I've seen people with as few 50 posts get tagged. So it's doesn't matter how long you've been around. :sunny:

Got all caught up while I was gone. Only I was mute and couldn't tell you I was all caught up. Got it. :rotfl2:

Why do fathers think we all need our own ice cream? NOT!!! I can get full eating a little bit of everyones. But that make Zzub a little queasy. Whatever.

Loving it!!!!!! :cheer2: :Pinkbounc :cheer2:

He hit the floor like a sack of potatoes, smacking his face on the seat on the way down. On the hard, hard, unforgiving plastic seat.

He was so sound asleep that he let out one cry, and that was it. I, on the other hand…

You parents who are reading. You know how awful it is to see your child hurting. And how way more awful it is when it’s your own fault. And way way WAY more awful when it’s your own fault and it could’ve been so easily avoided. By sticking to the flipping plan.!

The good news, I guess, is that this was totally the low point of the trip. We hit rock bottom on the OKW bus at about 11 PM. Some of us, literally.

We got everyone safely back to the room and tucked into bed. I am feeling like the worst mother on earth (very different from being the meanest). And tomorrow is Mother’s Day. I don’t even know if Doug realizes it’s Mother’s Day, and I feel so bad that I don’t even care. Where’s the SpectroMama now?

Mother’s Day dawns at OKW and, apart from a doozy of a shiner on one little soon-to-be birthday boy, we’re all doing just dandy. He doesn’t even remember The Incident.

Over breakfast I received a lovely assortment of Disney scrapbooking materials and some yummy chocoloates. Seems like somebody made a secret trip back to the gift shop when I wasn’t looking. And a Mother’s Day… postcard. They had to get creative. Doug claims that he planned it this way, because he figured if he got something at home and packed it, I would see it. I think I believe him. Not that it matters. I don’t need gifts. I just want to be treated like a queen. ;) They had all signed the Mother’s Day … postcard. I made a fuss over Sydney’s “signature,” pretending that her name was Scribble.

And thus was completed our vacation triumvirate. Meet my kids: Jingle, Crash, and Scribble. Or I so dubbed them, to their delight.

Today our plan is to go to Epcot. I am excited for Conor to try Test Track. I am really excited for all of us to try Soarin’. I had no idea that it was going to be so crowded on Mother’s Day, at Epcot, during the Flower and Garden Festival. Seriously? I call myself a Dis’er?

Upon entering Epcot, I was presented with a carnation in honor of Mother’s Day. That’s really sweet. Piper got in a snit because she didn’t get a flower. See how she’s got her grumpy face on?

She's going to make a mighty fine Mean Mama someday.

As far as touring went, my biggest goal for this trip was to see the stuff that was new since the last time I was at Disney. Which was in 1992, I think? When The Enabler was in the college program. Before Animal Kingdom. Before Soarin’, Test Track, Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster, and Who Wants to be a Millionaire? Before PhilHarmagic.

So our first stop in Epcot was at Test Track. Because I know my car dude is going to love it. We get a kid-swap pass, Doug takes him and off they go. I am left with grumpy girl and baby Syd. I think that doing the KidCot activity would be fun. It wasn’t. According to the grumpy girl. We tried walking around the store, checking out the insides of the cars on display, and playing hide and seek. Grump grump grump.

At last, the boys came back. Conor gave the ride two big thumbs up. My turn! Want to come, little miss grumpypants?

Can you guess what she said?

Right. So Conor was stoked to get to go on this cool ride again, with mummy. I made him promise to hold my hand so I wouldn’t be scared.

We couldn’t find Doug and the girls when we came out. What did people DO before cell phones were invented? There must’ve been a lot of grumpy people sitting around waiting for each other, or more adventurous grumpy people wandering around looking for each other. Thanks to the inventor of the cell phone (Al Gore, was it?) I learn that my husband has taken the girls over to the butterfly garden and play area.

It turns out that this spectacular attraction that is only here during the Flower and Garden festival, is where little Piper found her smile. She loves to climb, do monkey bars, and the like. She is a gymnast after all! So while Conor and I were over being guinea pigs for GM, Doug was following the girls back and forth between the butterfly pavilion and the Sky Climber. This was what we needed to banish the grumpies.

She found her beautiful smile. All is well.

After we all reunited, it was time to meander our way over to Soarin’. And I do mean meander, because it seems the heat has rendered us incapable of reading a park map.

What a treat this trip report is! Subscribing I don't miss anything!

Oh yeah.. 2005 Nissan Pathfinder SE - Black :)

Kimmie, you can't be the meanest momma!

Cause you really love your kiddies! And I am so glad you are sharing your trip with us!

It's great that Conor didn't recall 'the incident' what a great Mother's Day :)

Nice to catch up with you again,

Great chapter (not as good a title as the last one, but hey ;) ). Although I am disappointed a bit -- where's the obscure reference to some long dead television show that I can try and spot? C'mon woman -- keep your head in the game.

 I'm loving your trip report!! :cheer2:

Just for Connor: i drive a 2005 Honda Odyssey (slate green)
hubby drives a 2000 plymouth Voyager (white) while he's dreaming of a British Green MiniCooper ;)

I love your trip report please send more soon.

When was the last time on of your kids called you "the meanest Mommie in the World"? Well I heard it yesterday from my youngest because I made her go home from Day Camp and she couldn't have a friend spend the night. :confused3

I'm getting so excited reading your trip report! It is so much fun! :thumbsup2
I can just imagine being there with you guys! What an adventure! I can't wait to read more!

1992 Saturn, Twin Cab - Dark Blue. :teeth:

Chap 11 -- do you think I watch too much tv? Anyway, for you -- name that long-dead show. "I'm runnnninng with scissors!!!"

Cass -- thanks for all the impatient smilies. REally, and truly. Every time I want to go do something else, I picture that and I don't want to let you down. :) Thanks for reading.

Grammy - I'm so glad you're no longer mute! And glad you're along for the ride. Hang on -- those bus seats are a killer

MommyP -- Welcome back. I am happy to know I was with you. May be the closest I ever get to the Poly!

VAMassey and Em'sMom -- just to clarify, my kids don't usually say that I'm the meanest. They think I rock. most of the time. I say it, to them. They think the meanest mom is my friend Jen who won't let her kids lick the beaters when she's baking. :rotfl2:

Disneygoddess, Princess4Eeyore, ferretxxxferret (I don't want to know what that name means! ;) ) Lindababe, JRASmom, Fizz, and DisneyDork -- THANK YOU!!! Thanks for posting.

No -- I think you watch just enough TV. :rotfl2: :rotfl2: The quote is from Cheers, the line recited by the estimable Dr. Fraiser Crane. Thanks for playing! :thumbsup2
