Make sure you hide the credit card first! :lmao: This thread can be expensive. Just ask Threeboysmom, she knows. :rotfl:

You're not kidding. You all are killing me. I have a list about 20 products I want to buy still from this thread alone... :rolleyes1

The tube is the shadow primer that I initially went there to buy in the 1st place! The shadow *is* awfully nice. It's supposed to be infused with the shadow insurance primer - and it lasts. It really does. Nice set. I'd buy it again.

OK, I have to ask. Do you not like the monistat as an eye primer? Is this really better?

I wish you'd try the Lip Fusion. I didn't think Buxom worked that well, either - but I'm seriously addicted to Lip Fusion. At $25-$38 a pop - it's an expensive addiction, but I truly have found my holy grail glosses.

OK OK you've twisted my arm. LipFusion is one of the products on my "to buy" list! Now I'm wondering if I should bring the Buxom lip gloss back to Sephora. I should... that takes half the price off the LipFusion. :thumbsup2

And I have to wonder... Do you REALLY try the lip gloss right at the store? After others have put it to their lips??? I don't know.... that's kind of wigging me out...

I painted my nails with the Argentini Pinkini today. Very pretty!

Another product I just added to my list.... Sigh.... :cloud9:

Tips...

I use MAC paints in untitled as an eyeshadow base. I only use MAC eyeshadows over it but it stays on forever. Perfect eyes after 14 hours and I am always hot and sweat from my head.

This has sold me. I need an eyeshadow that stays put. I looked up the MAC shadows and now I'm confused. I see eye shadow, paints, and paint pots (not interested in the others that were listed). What's the difference between these 3 products and which are you talking about? I really really need something that won't end up in my crease after an hour. I have yet to find a shadow that works. I prefer a cream rather than powder (especially loose powder! dealing with spills with my foundation alone is driving me nuts).

Question: Has anyone here personally tried Blinc Kiss Me Mascara? I was going to go with Lash Injection, but this one seems to be getting good reviews as well.

And.... I think that's it.... for now ;)

Happy Make-upping! :grouphug:

Does anyone know where you can find the old version of OPI My Private Jet? Trade Secret has the newer version, but I think the old version is better.

Doesn't that tick you off? I was so angry about it. I lost my original My Private jet, so I bought another one. Was not the same - at all - . :headache:

So, I started Googling the issue (who Googles nail polish color issues???) and found out a lot of people were complaining about it.

Anyways - I found Color Club Revvvolution. It's as good as My Private Jet - if not better. And cheaper. :thumbsup2

:headache: I am so not happy with the results of BE (I think that is the brand of it, I got it off of Sephora.com) I swear everytime I wear it you can totally see my pores :sad2:
What on earth am I doing wrong? :confused3

I don't care for BE, at all. Are you using a primer, first?

If you are using a primer, I would try www.everydayminerals.com , instead.

OK, I have to ask. Do you not like the monistat as an eye primer? Is this really better?

Yes. I like Too Faced's Shadow Insurance better than the Monistat, as far as an eye shadow primer, goes.

I would take it back. If you dont like it, take it back!

Sephora is pretty good about having trial's there, that you have to use a disposable applicator to try it.

That being said, I live right on the edge. I think all the things you touch in the mall are just as bad, anyways.

Try shadow insurance. The stuff is amazing, IMO.

Could you be applying too much? You really have to layer the mineral foundations in light even layers - really tap of the excess on your brush before applying - and use the large circle application technique.

I didn't like BE and it caused a horrible reaction on me (read that as mega breakout and burn - :scared1:)

Anyway, a lot of the girls prefer Everyday Minerals on this thread. I use Aromaleigh and have just started to try out The She Space (a/k/a About Face Cosmetics) and Meow Cosmetics as well. Cheaper too.

Good luck!

Do you know what stores carry the Color Club revvolution, or does it have to be bought online?

Those colors look REALLY pretty! Are those cream shadows or powder? And what's the thing in the tube beside them?

.

Thanks for the color suggestions! Purple is appealing to me. Would a gray or a brown work also? What about a green?

I'm confused on the "v" you're talking about. Is that the outer eye corner or the inner eye corner? Will look up that youtube video. Thanks!

OK, I cut my own bangs in between my hair appointments (every 6 weeks, but my bangs just dont' last that long). How do you cut your hair with the scissors held vertically??? :confused3 I'm picturing a VERY ragged edge if you're just taking out little chunks here and there...

OMG you ARE ME!!
As to the V put your finger on the outside corner of you eye and feel the bone that is the V put only a LITTLE Carbon or Print by MAC there with a pencil brush and blend...it makes your deep set eyes look bigger because it gives dimension. AS I said Lanaindiana is NOT a good example of make up she kind of overdoes it BUT it works for her.

I would stay away from brown eye color unless it is a very gray brown because brown is the color they use when they age people with stage make up. Green is okay too but you can blend more than one color to make it look the way you want.

I am actually referring to two products here. The MAC paint (which is the little tube) is a cream that I put on my whole eye with a brush. I let it dry a second and then put my MAC shadows (regular powder shadows) on overtop of it. I do my contour or crease first, then the base then the highlight - so that each color is right on top of the paint and then blend. It stays on all day - no matter what.

Hope that helps.

I second the MAC paint...not paint pot I do not have that one I have the paint in a tube.

TBM you seriously need to find The Cosmetics Company Store because they have tons of MAC discounted 30%! Do you live near any outlet malls? I must credit CR for turning me on to them. In fact I am in Orlando now and there are TWO of them...and yes I walked by one I forgot my blending brush(could have used a Q Tip but since I was at the mall for a black bra I stopped in AGAIN(I wish they had a frequet flier card) ended up with a very nice Mac travel brush set with 5 brushes incliding the one Ineeded for only 32 and Bobbi Brown ES in Shell! I Iam startingt to like the BB eyeshadow:scared1:

So then we went to the new outlets at the end of I drive. We go by anohter Company Store and DH points it out. He says do you need anything. I say no I am just going to walk by. He then says it looks like it is a really huge one and that it was loaded with tons of stuff. SEE! I tried to walk by I did! I got a small stippling brush for blending(yeah I know I got the kit on Monday and this was Tuesday.

Loving this thread which I just found!

I have two questions and two tips...

Does anyone use MAC tinted moisturizer? I want to try some for outside events but I need some coverage - lots of colors on this face in the morning that aren't good :)

Anyone have good stay on lipstick that doesn't dry?

Tips...

I use MAC paints in untitled as an eyeshadow base. I only use MAC eyeshadows over it but it stays on forever. Perfect eyes after 14 hours and I am always hot and sweat from my head.

I have also recently discovered MAC Liquidlast liner. I was using fluidline but tried this and love it - it does not come off. No smudging, no flaking and my eyes run a ton from allergies. I have to take it off with eye makeup remover. I take the rest of the eye makeup off with makeup wipes and the liner is still intact...

Gossmakeupartist on YOUTUBE did a review of the Mac Tinted Moistureizer and he said that unless you need pretty much 0 coverage it was not worth it BUT he did say you could either mix it if you have liquid foundation OR just mix some of your favorite moistureizer into a liquid foundation and get the same effect. You can also control the amount of coverage that way too.

One more before I go to the parks and while I wait for DH to come back from the work out room(yes I do feel guilty not working out )...does anyone live near a Steinmart? I found one in FLA and they are like a Marshalls or TJ's. Anyway last night I stopped in since I had heard of them and never been. WEll they had the greatest thing. It looked like one of those hanging shoe bags you know the kind with 12 clear slots you can hang on the door only it was smaller and had 66 slots PERFECT for catagorizing eyeshadow and other make up and then it could be hung up and you can see what you want at a glance! Of course I got one in pink. It has 48 small pockets and 12 larger ( think for a pallet ) and I know that does not add up to 66 so I must be off by a couple of pockets. You could also use it for jewlery too. I am loving it. I got it hanging up in the luggage section and it looked like they had just put them out. 19.99. I wish I knew how to upload a photo but I don;t.

Thank you everyone!! :grouphug:

I am planning my first trip ever to a Sephora store tomorrow! I cannot WAIT! I have my list all ready to go! :goodvibes:cloud9::lovestrucprincess:

I am planning on wearing no eye make-up :scared1: so I can sample some of what's there.... or do they have consultants that will actually do up my eyes for me?

Oh... one other thing. What about a great undereye concealer? I need something with great coverage but yet very creamy and smooth because that skin area is getting pretty bad with age... I try not to even touch it if possible.

I've tried covering up with BE concealer with concealer brush and even the foundation... but it seems to look cakey on my eye area... really accentuates the fine lines even more (although the coverage is good).

I use the BE concealer (sometimes mixed with well-rested) and apply with a dampened brush. I also ensure that I apply plenty of primer (I use monistat) - that will keep it from looking too cakey.

OT - but I'm so excited! :yay:

My g/f had an extra ticket to a Jimmy Buffet concert, Saturday! :woohoo:

I've never been to a Buffet concert. Im excited! :dance3:

I thiiiink I'm gonna wear this:

http://oldnavy.gap.com/browse/product.do?cid=49428&vid=1&pid=633407&scid=633407012 - in black....good choice? Or should I do the black and white stripes?? Hmmmm....

I am totally looking forward to it. How fun! :cool1:

Yes - they'll do it. You can even call and ask for an 'appointment' so you don't have to wait. :thumbsup2

Best concealer? YSL Touche Eclat. Expensive - but again, pick it up and Sephora, return it if you don't like it. http://www.sephora.com/browse/product.jhtml?id=P218431

Dress me for Buffet!!!!

This one is kinda fun!

I just got my nails done in a really pretty poppy red (Essie E'nuf is E'nuf)...

es00592main.jpg

.... so I need something that will work with red nails and toes, y'know. That last one would ROCK with purple nails, wouldnt it?? Like a creamy violet purple?? I don't wanna have to get them done, again.

Ok, I may be a make-up newbie, but I LOOOOOOOOOVE clothes! Shall we count dresses now? haha

CathrynRose, I absolutely ADORE this dress! But if you have a coral/red color on your nails, then it's not going to go...

63130030-07.jpg

This dress is gorgeous too and will match your pretty nails...

63170278-07.jpg

And this one....

Gosh, all so beautiful! Have fun choosing!

I also looked up the Old Navy dress. Too funny. While I was at Sephora today, there was a girl wearing that exact dress in blue. Looks beautiful but casual too. I really like it in the black (who can go wrong with black). You could even put a big poppy-red flower in your hair to accessorize the dress with a tropical flair). The striped looked a little too "pajamery" to me?

I'd probably go with the basic black because I'd wear it often after the concert. Depends on whether you think you'd wear the more tropical prints when the event is over.

Gee, now I'm thinking of buying one for my Disney trip next month...
