Sunglitz and RUSK - both have blue/violet shampoo's and/or conditioner which when used on blonde hair (or highlights) can get rid of orange brassiness. Good stuff.

Sunglitz even has a Mocha line, as well as Strawberry. I love pigmented shampoo's! :goodvibes

When you say 'hold a style' what are you doing to it? Curling? Flat ironing? Just blow drying? And how long is your hair? What's it like?

Your daughter hair - I'm on The Moroccan Oil train now. *toot-toot* I can NOT say enough good stuff about it AND we might be able to just use their styling cream for your problem too. Good stuff!!

I've actually heard of Moroccan Oil. A stylist recommended it to my daughter but at the time we thought it was expensive for my then 11 year old. :)

When I say, hold a style, I mean the style lasts hours instead of looking flat by the time I get to where I'm going! When my stylist does my hair, the style lasts a couple of days rather than a couple of hours.

I blow dry my hair. Sometimes I also use a curling iron. It's shoulder length.

I'll attach a photo so you can see. Pardon my dumb look.

Thank you! :)

Okay - if I were you, I'd use a root lifter, with something as a leave in treatment - be it Sebastian 9 ( I love that stuff) or a styling cream.

Root lifter - you can use any brand you want. I think Garnier Fructis makes one that isnt bad.

The leave in stuff - Ilike Sebastian 9. The Moroccan Oil styling cream is sweeeeet!! Love it.

That's what I would do.

And do you round brush it when you blow dry? If you can get the hang of round brushing your own hair - which I cant - I have a blow dryer brush. That thing is fantastic for giving a lot of oomph and smooths your hair as you dry, too. A lot of the reason your hair stays put, is her drying method - when you pull it out at the roots (round brush) and dry it, it stays there for a while.

:thumbsup2

Have you ever tried the Matrix Amplify line?

Their shampoo and conditioner - along with the root lift make a HUGGGGE difference in the oomph of my hair. A HUGE one!!!

ANd the price isnt that bad.

If you have shine stuff at home, I'd use it along with it, though - cuz it has no silicone.

I don't usually recommend that one in the Winter cuz it tends to feel / look dryer - however, in the summer? That stuff will keep your hair from falling, hands down. And in the summer the humidity keeps any dryness issues from happening.

It's very, very good stuff:

I actually have a root lifter that I bought from a stylist many years ago. It's like a spray mousse. It was pretty expensive too. I just wasn't sure how to use it though.

I've heard of Sebastian 9. I think I have a travel size hair spray somewhere. Should I get the Shpritz Forte?? Is that what you mean? Or maybe the 'wearable treatment'?

I use a round brush as I blowdry.

Thank you for everything. :goodvibes

I've not used their shampoo or conditioner but I can certainly vouch for the root lifter - tons of volume even with my thin, stringy hair.

I just returned from my dr. appointment and I have a 60-day supply of Lattisse!! I'm so excited! I'll let you all know how it works although it will take 6 weeks to get results. The lady in his office uses it and her eyelashes are incredible - I will be thrilled if mine look like that.

He also gave me some info on laser resurfacing. I never really considered having this done because for some reason I though it was just for retexturizing the skin and evening out skin tone which I don't need. However, he told me it can help with the crepiness (ok, I know I butchered that word) under my eyes. I think someone on here early on in the thread was complaining about that issue. Anyway, the results look phenomenal! I definitely see this procedure in my future. :thumbsup2

ETA: oh, yes. And he also reassured me that the ibuprofen I took will NOT be a problem.

I think I saw it mentioned somewhere on this thread at some point. I did see it at Walmart of all places!! I didn't bite the bullet though. Maybe I will. :thumbsup2

My daughter has naturally curly hair that frizzes and she's always on the hunt for products to tame her frizz and hold her curls and detangle as well. Any suggestions?

My DD has naturally curly hair as well and she uses Redken Curl booster. It doesn't detangle but helps with the frizz and if she uses it with a diffuser, it should give nice soft curls. You just can't use too much or it gets stiff.

Moroccan Oiiiiiiiiiillllllll.

You can both share it. And it last forever!!!

I have one of those, LOVE IT! :lovestruc I cannot hold a hairdryer and a round brush at the same time.

I'm using Amplify right now. This is the BEST volumising shampoo I have tried and I tried a lot. What can I say? You can take a girl out of the eighties but you can't take the eighties out of the girl. But I picked up a hair magazine the other day and I advice about getting perms! I guess what comes around goes around. I don't have the root lifter though, I have quite a stash of Redken "Guts" and some mouse to go through yet.

Oh, I want to try the Latisse so bad! You should take some "before's and afters"! I see a lot of laser resurfacing at the surgeons office and the results are amazing. I wish I could afford it. I did get some laser hair removal done though, on my underarms and on my toes, yes I have caveman toes  .

One of my goals after this experience is to get certified with lasers. I'm looking into a training program right now. I just love this so much more than the OR.

I'll have to try this for DD9. She's got hair that I could only dream of and this should help with the frizzies.

Oh, you have to try the root lifter. I've tried different brands and never been too impressed but this is the best I've ever used. I have VERY thin and limp hair and I could not believe the volume I was getting with it. My DD even noticed and she tends to not pay too much attention to things like that.

I'm just sad I won't be able to use it with my extensions. Cat says I won't need it, but still - you can't have too much volume in your hair (what can I say, I'm an 80s girl, too). I can only imagine what I could do with that root lifter AND extensions!

As long as my hair is blonde, the party will not be over.

I even added some of that Mrs Stewart's bluing to a conditioner I had to see how that would work. It does. :thumbsup2

BASS PRO SHOPS:

No, I'm not camping. Girls like me don't camp! My husband stopped asking me to go about 3 months into our relationship. "Is there a hotel near by?" I asked. Only to receive a :sad2: in return. So he camps on his own. Which I don't mind a bit. He could have an affair all summer long and go 'camping' - and I would be none the wiser. Camp, my husband, camp! I'm certainly not going to go check up on you. Blech.

Why in the hell am I mentioning a Bass Pro Shops in a Makeup thread, then? Have I lost my mind? Possibly... BUT after searching and searching and searching for a big train case, and seeing them (for over $100 bucks) a little light bulb went off over my head.

A tackle box! A big honkin' giant professional fisherman's tackle box. YES! So, I looked online. $40 tops - for a big honkin' giant professional makeup artist....errrr FISHERMAN's tackle box. Why didn't I think of this sooner??? I have a tool box currently - I need a tacklebox!!!

I am excited. As soon as I'm done with this - I'm going to Bass Pro Shops.

Check out this one:

And with camping season here... my dream of an entire shelving unit with little drawers with nooks and crannies being built will be put on the back burner. I don't think my husband was ever going to build one for me anyways. No one take's my need's seriously. ;)

 That goes for me too! Thanks again!

Beattyfamily,

Were you watching the news tonight...WBZ they had a list of cosmetics that were top picks and some of them were available at the drugstore...I went to the WBZ website to find the list but could not find where it was. Did you happen to hear the newscast and did you hear where to find the list on their website???

Yes! That's the list that I posted on the previous page.

I found it at the WBZ website by doing a search with the word: makeup. :thumbsup2

Look at what it pulls out to:

:banana::banana::banana:

There is a God and he loves me!!! ;):lovestruc:worship:

I love the idea but it does not look big enough for me. The sections are too small unless you catagorize each tray one shadow, one lipstick, etc that might work....I need one of those things they use in the mechanic's you know the one on wheels that is like four feet high ....usually they are red. I have one of those huge train cases the ones that cost 100....my friend the one who likes to buy make up and not use it gave it to me. It is no way big enough. However, you guys have inspired me. I think I will catagorize my make up tonight.

OMG how did I miss it! I thought I read all the posts. I give you credit you are fast. The first thing I thought of was this thread when I heard it but I could not find it. I put bargain make up in my search and got nothing. LOL:rotfl: Thanks

ETA CO Bigelow at Northshore Mall is closing everything is 40 per cent off.

ETA 2: Okay I just got the Lorac foundation, and have many of the items on the list...biggest surprise was the Neutrogena powdered eye shadow. A lot of the items were fairly expensive.

I must say again I have been using my samples of the Eye HOpe Advanced from Philosphy and it really works! It does not come out until May 1 but I am going to get it. I definately see a diffence in the circles under my eyes. It has niacinamide in it which was supposed to be the magic ingredient that Oprah's Dr. Oz said was good for taking away circles. HOnestly I have never ever found something that did that. I have used it for almost a week.

Well no - it's not big enough... I was going to use in it addition to my tool box (and random cases I have) :lmao: That was going to be the 'everyday' stuff. :rolleyes1

I told you I need a big massive shelving unit!!!

BELLA YES!!!!!!!!!!!!

THAT is what I want!!!! The rolly red things!! I want one too!! :lmao::lmao::lmao:

I was too ashamed to admit it. :rotfl2:

DH has one of those things in the garage. Sorry, guys, but they are ugly! I can't imagine having one in the bathroom. But you know, imagine something similar in a pretty wood, like cherry. With slide out drawers and sections or cubbyholes for different kinds of make-up. Almost like a piece of furniture - well, actually, yes, it would be a piece of furniture - on wheels if you like. I don't think such a thing exists, but I bet there would be a market for them. Heck, I'd buy one!
