I just got my order from Sephora. I ordered the Clinique Black Honey lipstick (which I love!), and the Too Faced Pinpoint mascara. I am so dissappointed in this mascara. I had such high hopes! It is OK, but definately nothing to get excited about. Are there any tips to applying it? I used more than one coat, but my L'Oreal Lash Out is still my favorite. Also, I have never used a eyelash curler. Would that maybe make a difference? Any advice appreciated.

Ive found the mascara 'thickens up' - if you will - after a few uses, thus making it better, IMO. Give it a few days. If you still dont like it - return it. :)

Black Honey lipstick is so pretty, isnt it? I still wanna get that gloss they make. I have a similar one, from Tigi. The girl at the TiGi counter at the hairshow recomended it to me, and at first I was like this:

But on?? Man - it's stunning:

Very nice.

This is a quickie drive by post. I have the flu. BLLLLAAAAAHHHH! I feel better today, than I had, though.

OKAY I did not have a no buy make month for April but I am going for it for the month of may so I will have to buy my tan in a tube in April....I use it for my legs and at this point I have not started to research it. I have used Dove(too yellow), Jergens(not bad) Neutrogena(no results) Channel(yuck) L'Oreal (in various forms and again okay but it makes me itch) any suggestions? Oh and I would like one that does not make you smell like frying hamburgers :rotfl:when you put it on if possible.

I've found that with the Lash Injection it takes a little bit of practice. Also, as Cat mentioned, it works better after a few uses - I've found that is the case with most brands of mascara. As for the eyelash curler - YES! That will work wonders. When I first started using the lash injection, I had a hard time with my eyelashes sticking straight out so you really couldn't notice the length unless I curled them.

UGH. I have an appointment today for Restylane injections and wouldn't you know last night I had horrible ear pain and broke down and took 4 ibuprofen. I had a feeling I shouldn't take them, but the pain was so bad that I was nauseous and almost in tears - I couldn't stand it any longer. I guess I'm just a baby. So this morning I looked it up and sure enough - ibuprofen should be avoided in order to minimize bruising.

I hate cancelling at this late date, so i guess I'm going to look like someone smacked me in the face with a baseball bat for a while. :sad1: And DH hates when I get these injections because of the bruising and now I'm afraid it's going to be even worse. I'm so mad at myself - I should have just sucked it up with the pain. So - anyone know of a great concealer that covers bruises??

What time last night, though?

The increased brusing would be due to your blood not clotting and Ibuprofen only has a shelf life of 6 hours, I do believe. So, you might be absolutely okay.

I am not a doctor, but rather a hypochondriac. Ask me about any disease or drug. popcorn::

IM JEALOUS Restalyn girl. Im totally getting some of that, this summer.

And your extensions - remember, I guided you through the process.... I get pics!!! :rolleyes1:laughing:

I took it around 11:00, but the websites I checked said to avoid it for about 5 DAYS prior to the injections, so I guess whatever affect it has on the blood lingers after the drug clears. :confused3 Anyway, what's done is done. If it gets too bad I guess I'll just load up on the concealer. I was thinking about asking him to plump up my cheeks a bit, too, but now I'm kind of scared. I'm going to be one big bruise and then I get to listen to DH ***** about spending $$$ to achieve a look he could provide free of charge. :lmao:

Oh, and if you decide to get it this summer, check into Radiesse. Long-lasting results - YEARS rather than months - plus it actually stimulates the production of collagen. I'm not sure if my doctor uses it but I'm going to ask him about it. I'm actually very happy with the Restalyne, though. It's been a year and I barely need a touch-up.

On another note: I am so excited about my extensions - one week from tomorrow! Nervous, too, though. I'll definitely send you a picture. Hope you're feeling better!

Hi CathrynRose, hope you're feeling better.

I'm bummed. That shampoo in color you told me about, Big Sexy Hair (something like that) is being discontinued! I love that stuff! What a disappointment! I like that it wakes up the highlights I already have. And it's no fuss. Ugh. I *hope* the company is going to introduce another line/formula soon.

Are there other products like that?

Yes - there are.

SUNGLITZ I thought was being discontinued, but learned otherwise while at the hair show. But - good luck finding it. eBay would probably be your best bet - unless youre pals with your stylist. She might be able to order it for you. That being said - its REALLY concentrated, so you can just squirt a little in your palm, with your regular shampoo, and mix it up in your hands, and wash. It's good stuff!!

CHI - They came out with a new one. It's called Tone and Shine. It's a conditioner, but I'm getting really good results from it. :thumbsup2 That one you should be able to get at ULTA or the like (or again, eBay)

OH! How could I forget..... RUSK has a new line of Violet everything. Shampoo, Conditoner, Spray shine, gell and Hairspray - all tinged with purple!

I've been using that one a lot and luuuurve it!!! :lovestruc

RUSK - Sensories - Bright. SHould be at Ulta (and I know that one is on eBay, too :) )

CathrynRose, you came through again!!! Yea!! Thanks for sharing that info.! I did buy some of the discontinued stuff, so I have a stash. I'll be trying the other stuff once I'm out. Nice to know the party isn't over. :upsidedow

As long as my hair is blonde, the party will not be over.

I even added some of that Mrs Stewart's bluing to a conditioner I had to see how that would work. It does. :thumbsup2

BASS PRO SHOPS:

No, I'm not camping. Girls like me don't camp! My husband stopped asking me to go about 3 months into our relationship. "Is there a hotel near by?" I asked. Only to receive a :sad2: in return. So he camps on his own. Which I don't mind a bit. He could have an affair all summer long and go 'camping' - and I would be none the wiser. Camp, my husband, camp! I'm certainly not going to go check up on you. Blech.

Why in the hell am I mentioning a Bass Pro Shops in a Makeup thread, then? Have I lost my mind? Possibly... BUT after searching and searching and searching for a big train case, and seeing them (for over $100 bucks) a little light bulb went off over my head.

A tackle box! A big honkin' giant professional fisherman's tackle box. YES! So, I looked online. $40 tops - for a big honkin' giant professional makeup artist....errrr FISHERMAN's tackle box. Why didn't I think of this sooner??? I have a tool box currently - I need a tacklebox!!!

I am excited. As soon as I'm done with this - I'm going to Bass Pro Shops.

Check out this one:

And with camping season here... my dream of an entire shelving unit with little drawers with nooks and crannies being built will be put on the back burner. I don't think my husband was ever going to build one for me anyways. No one take's my need's seriously. ;)

beattyfamily ~ thanks for the list!

You know, whenever they come out with these though - it bothers me to no end about the low end hair care products. I can not stress enough the difference high end products make!!!

Best shampoo? Herbal Essences??? Huh???

Best hair color?? No one should be coloring their hair at home, with a box!!! BLAH!!!! :headache:

Okay - back to your regular make up talk, now. :rolleyes1

I find it interesting to see which products win these surveys even if I don't always agree with them.

I don't know much about hair products. I do sometimes buy Nexxus and Paul Mitchell products but that's the extent of it.

I was fascinated by your talk a few posts back about SUNGLITZ and RUSK. What exactly are they and what do they do?

I need something that adds body and/or holds a style longer, any suggestions?

My daughter has naturally curly hair that frizzes and she's always on the hunt for products to tame her frizz and hold her curls and detangle as well. Any suggestions?

Sunglitz and RUSK - both have blue/violet shampoo's and/or conditioner which when used on blonde hair (or highlights) can get rid of orange brassiness. Good stuff.

Sunglitz even has a Mocha line, as well as Strawberry. I love pigmented shampoo's! :goodvibes

When you say 'hold a style' what are you doing to it? Curling? Flat ironing? Just blow drying? And how long is your hair? What's it like?

Your daughter hair - I'm on The Moroccan Oil train now. *toot-toot* I can NOT say enough good stuff about it AND we might be able to just use their styling cream for your problem too. Good stuff!!
