So I just saw the Sephora Black Friday deals in the JCPenney store. Which these are the must haves? Are the brushes a good deal or should I try and get the set at Costco that everyone talks about? What is everyone getting?

What? I missed this too! Just want to say I got the brushes (two boxes) at Costco and they are really good. I did not see this earlier because I have not been on. I will also say that the brushes have a star on the sign and at Costco it means that they are not going to be reordered and it also means that they will be marked down in the future. I will buy them at the mark down price then return them at the higher price. FYI

I'm so sorry to hear that others have not received their V.I.B $20 gift card. :sad1: Just double check and make sure you are on Sephora's e-mail and regular mail lists. I received my coupon online, and got one through regular mail yesterday...so hopefully everyone will get theirs soon. :)

I used mine towards the purchase of the Deluxe Fragrance Sampler For Her. This is so cool...I just started wearing perfume, so I thought this would be perfect for finding "the scent for me."

It was $50, and after the VIB coupon, and remaining balance on an old gift card, my total came down to $17!!

Hi all, I'm a lurker on this thread, but I have a couple of issues I was hoping I could get some advice on.

Does anyone using a really good pore minimizer? I already use the Clarisonic (which I LOVE, it makes my skin feel so clean!) and I use Monistat as a primer, both of which help a little, but not much. Any recommendations on a good product?

I'm also looking for a new foundation. Right now I use Revlon Color Stay, which I love because it gives such great coverage, but recently I've decided it looks a little heavy, and sometimes kind of cakey. I'm looking for something with good coverage, but that looks a little lighter and fresher? Any suggestions?

Thanks!

And Sephora is now back on my good list I got my 20.00 today ....just do not know what to spend it on.

Hey girls. Does anyone have any recommendations for a really shiny, wet looking, lipgloss. I would like something of the sort for holiday pictures. I've been going crazy looking for one ;)

I saw a Vinyl lip gloss at Sephora - maybe by Chanel or Lancome? It was super shiny!

I started wearing Urban Decay Lipgloss Junkie, it's the best lipgloss I've come across. Not sticky, but it's super shiny! Comes in many colors; this is the color I have:

Sephora carries this.

I like Mac lipglass it has alot of sparkles in it, very festive.

I really am not comfortable picking out make up shades myself. I have a Bobbi Brown foundation stick in Porcelain that I love and I'm going to buy another, but I'd love to have a less expensive foundation to alternate with it. Has anyone seen a website that will suggest alternatives? Cover Girl does but not for that shade.

I was wondering how do you guys pick nail polish colors that complement you?

I'm having some problems doing so but I don't have much of a collection to test with and my skin isn't light but it is not too dark either so I find some colors seem to clash.

To be honest, I gravitate towards colors I wear for eyeshadow, or lipstick. I figure if the color looks good on my lips, then it'll look good on my nails!

It's really about experimenting....there have been times that I've bought a color that looked good in the bottle, but not on my nails, so I threw them out. It's trial and error.

I just got into nail polish a few months ago, and have 8 bottles in my collection. Once you buy enough different colors, you get a feel for what you like.

I guess I don't really worry about my skin tone clashing with nail color....I wear every color from pale to really bright, and dark colors. I think they all look good on my pale skin! Sure, the dark colors make me almost "gothic" looking but I don't care! :rotfl2:

Have you tried the OPI color wheel (on OPI website under "Try On This Color") where you pick your skin tone and try different colors? The colors look a bit "cartoonish" but it could give you an idea of what looks good or not.

Clinique has a pore minimizer that works very well. Also Benefit has one that I love also. It actually has a tint to it like a tinted moisturizer. It's worked very well for me!

As for foundation the youtube makeup gurus are raving about (for a drugstore brand) is the Maybelline Instant Age Rewind. They say that even though the twist up applicator isn't the best, the product itself is wonderful.
As for a non drugstore foundation, I love MAC, Makeup Forever Matte Velvet + (which is more matte then the fresh look you're going for), Clinique has a great variety of foundation types as well (lower end of MAC).

i got urban decay primer potion (the bigger tube), clinique foundation, etc. check out my flickr pics

Did a return today at Sephora and have a gift card now burning a whole in my wallet. The store was too crowded to look around.

My return is kind of funny. Dh bought me perfume. Cute right... well it's the same kind he's bought me for the past 4 years *and I don't even like this one. I have 2 unopened ones so this years went back with his blessing.

Santa brought me a whole stocking full of China Glaze polishes! :cool1: I got a dozen colors plus a base and top coat. Yay Santa!

My DH actually pulled off getting me the Urban Decay Naked 2 palette! When I opened it I literally screamed I was so excited. I had NO idea he had actually been watching the Urban Decay website after I told him they were releasing the new palette some time in December.

Finally got the Urban Decay Naked palette - would love to hear your best tips and tricks with this set, and photos :D
