I got the lavender Mia for Christmas!

I've been reading reviews and people have been saying the first couple weeks, they broke out pretty badly.

Did that happen to you?

I wanted to get the Poppy color, but then I read a review that said it was more orangey than red.

So I got the lavendar one, instead. :)

I didn't break out the first couple weeks but I did think it made me a little more red.

It has stopped making my face red now and I love it!

Joining in because I'm a total makeup junkie. :thumbsup2

However, I do have a question. Does anyone know of a really good facial moisturizer? I have been having big issues with my skin this winter. I get these weird dry patches of skin and they're super noticeable when I put on my foundation. I used to use a Dove facial moisturizer from target, but they don't seem to carry it anymore. I've been using The Body Shop's Vitamin E Intense Moisture Cream but it really hasn't been helping. Any suggestions? (also, reasonably priced. I'm a poor college student :goodvibes )

Well, I thought about it (for 30 seconds)...and then went ahead and ordered the lavendar Mia. :rolleyes1

I couldn't pass up the discount. ;) With the discount, it came out to $95. :)

Suhhhhweeeet! I told you, you'd get it! Yay!

I have the Island Coral. I lllooovvveee. It! So fun!

And break outs ~ no, so far, so good. In fact, less. And my face is just less "congested", already. Glowey....fresh. I'm super happy!

Dove used to have a phenomenal line ~ Pro Age. I freaking loved it. And no mas. :( Its a shame....

Anyways ~ I use straight up Vitamin E Lotion, in the big ol' tub, for like $4, as CVS. I have H2o's, and a Peter Thomas Ross one, but I keep going back to Vit_E.

I also picked up, well eBay'd a giant tin of German Nivea. Apparently its supposed to be darn close to Creme De La Mer. I like that, too ~ but again, always go back to my cheap Vitamin E lotion.

Sounds like you just need a Clarisonic. :p

I got a V.I.B e-mail from Sephora that showed the B-Day gift for 2012. From what I recall it was always a sample bottle of Sephora's bath bubbles in the cupcake scent.

The new B-Day gift this year is:

How exciting! It's nice to see them change up the free B-Day gift. Now I have to wait until August... :rotfl2:

Ohhhhhh you people kill me! :rotfl: Never been on this thread until this am and . . . .

Just ordered a Mia Clarisonic in Kelly Green from skinstore using the promo code - thanks CathrynRose!

Did you all buy other brushes - also what cleanser do you like to use with it?

I chose the green in hopes of getting my boys to try it too - would have loved the cute polka dot pink!

I picked this up today. Love it! I probably wouldn't have used the cupcake gel. I have never tried Fresh lip balm and its so nice.

Shellac, Gel nails ....anyone do this at home? I watched a couple of Youtube videos and it does not look like you need to be a tech to do it. I am betting Cathryn Rose has some info. I am looking at a Gellish starter set on Amazon and thinking of getting a UV light. It is 50.00 at the salon and I like to have the independence of doing it whenever I want.

Ok, I was reading through my "O" magazine and noticed an ad for the OPI Holland collection. National release date for these polishes 2/08/2012. (Right before Valentine's Day!)

My favorite is the the deep purple, (bottom, 2nd from right.) It's called Vampsterdam. I'm also liking the one next to it, that light green color.

Can't wait!

I got my Mia today! And of course, I had to try it as soon as I got it. :rotfl:

I'm not impressed with the cleanser that came with it, but I'm loving the brush. :dance3:

Which one do you use? I saw 2 different types on the CVS website. I have been using a Vitamin E lotion in a pump for years and while I really like it, I am looking for something a little heavier, especially for winter. TY!

I'll look when I'm home. I'm at my GF's WAITING FOR HER TO GET READY. UGH! (Not that she'll see this, but it felt better to get it out. I can only drink so much Coppola Claret, before I need a nap!)

And SarahJ/Clarisonic ~ Love, right????? I love it!!!

I know there's a pink label and a yellow label. I use the pink one.

Yeah, you could totally do it. Just get that light.

Yes! I even had my DH try my new toy this morning! Shhh, don't tell him I told you. :lmao:

He was all "feel how soft my face is! It's like a baby's bottom." :rotfl:

My DH has his own :goodvibes He has the manly grey full size, and I have the yellow Mia. He LOVES it and uses it every day!

I bounce between Clinique's Acne Solutions Cleanser and Neutrogena's Redness/Acne Gel Cleanser (the green one). DH uses Clinique's Mild Liquid Soap. He uses the Normal Brush Head... and I am in love with the Deep Pore Brush Head.

Enjoy!! :wizard:

Question for you ladies...

I have been using Too Faced Lash Injection mascara for YEARS.It is the BEST mascara I have every used. It is just SO expensive. DH and I are saving money for a house and I am trying to cut some corners and costs.

I have really long lashes already, but they are not very thick. I use the Lash Injection because it makes them fuller, without adding a ton of length.

Do you gals know of any cheaper mascaras with the staying power of Too Faced, that will add VOLUME without too much LENGTH? (I'm thinking the max price oint would be about $10)

i love opulash from mac selling price is 15-16... its adds a lot of volume, i need length as well so i use a primer underneath (white).... i havn't found any really good drug store mascaras lately

Thanks! I just used it to take off my makeup from work and I'm loving the Mia. Thank you CathrynRose for the recommendation. :cool1:

I can't reccomend anything cheaper. I love Too Faced Lash Injection and BLINC Mascara (with Blinc being $25). Now, I will say, I wanted a cheapee mascara to use, and picked up Maybellline Great Lash Big Brush, and I actually like it - for what it is. A cheap mascara. You could give that one a whirl.

Welcome. I love it.

I bought a Kindle Fire, last week. You should get one of those, too.  I have glowing skin, and a cool way to read books and get on the internet. I just need 4 men to fan me with palms, and I'm all set.
