I've noticed this too and I've heard it's due to product build-up. There are products designed to get rid of build-up and also I've heard that baking soda works, too, though probably not as well. I use much less product now than I used to and I've noticed that when I do use it (usually just on the weekends), it works much better than when I used it on a daily basis.

Before I color(I might be like the only one left in the world who does their own color anymore) they told me at the beauty supply to use a clarifying shampoo. While I feel it is too harsh to use more than once a month it does clear the product out of the hair. I know that my hair is really shiny the day before I color because it is clarified.

Yay!! I'm so glad this thread is back! I always appreciate everyone's product reviews.... even though they cause me to spend more money than I have, lol.

(Currently checking out the beauty site that CR recommended and trying to decide what shade of lip fusion to try - sugar or sugar rush, lol).

I found a fabulous foundation that I just LOVE for the summertime - Guerlain Terracotta Skin (in Brunette shade). It's amazing how it feels on my skin and the natural bronze color it gives. It's pricey though, but worth it. Only downfall is Sephora is out of stock, and I need more.

Edited to Add: Grrrr, apparently their Brunette shade is out of stock everywhere... :(

It's back in stock I was just checking Sephora. I sent you a pm but just in case you do not see it.

What department stores sell it? I know the primer with gold is suposed to be good but I do not think it is better than our friend MONOSTAT at least not 70.00 better. For that it better make me look like Angelina Jolie.

Nordstrom. I still am really wanting to get more of that Fusion Primer. I really love it.

Do they sell Wen at Sephora? I did not think so. I was debating about using it but the no later thing makes me feel like my hair would not be clean.

Wen is junk....don't get it. It's called co-washing, and WEN is just filling a void in the market white girls didn't know about. I've been "co-washing" for years and years, and didn't need WEN, to do it.

I need to go back to Sebastian Potion 9. I haven't used it in a long time, and my hair feels like ***bleeeeep***.

I am so glad that I found this thread!! What is everyone doing for makeup in this humidity? I am normally a mineral/powder girl and nothing, not even good old Monistat, is helping me!:confused3

CR can you explain cowashing a little better? I am glad you told me about WEN because I trust your judgement.

I hve not been using foundation when it is hot. My face had been breaking out especially my nose and I do not know why. I am way to old for this and it is not the heat. I have not changed any of my foundation so I have no idea what is causing it.
BTW I got the Olay knock off of the Clarisonic while it is not as powerful I think I like it better because I do not want it to be too powerful.

CO washing is the conditioner only method. You use a cheap drugstore brand with no silicones to wash because they act as a mild detergent. I tried CO and it left my hair limp and greasy. WEN left me dry and poofy.

Okay so you wash your hair with conditioner? Do you ever use shampoo? I am thinking I would look like I did when I was in 6th grade and had an oil problem if I did this.

Yeah, you can wash whenever you want. In the winter, I can push it a lot longer, than I can in the summer. But yeah, whenever you feel like it.

And it doesn't have to be silicone free conditioner. I use whichever kind I feel like.

I am loving the Kerastase!my hair is so soft and shiny!!!

Okay next time that is what I am using. LOL BTW I found that my friend also gave me some sort of Kerastase kit last Christmas. I think this one is not for color treated hair and that is why I just put it away . It is in a yellow and orange pouch with some other things in it. The shampoo I have is for color treated hair but it is in a dark pink bottle. Which one did you use?

It's called Bain Miroir right? That's the stuff! It smells soooo good too!

Okay, I'm going to state upfront: I have not read the thread (nor do I plan to read all 2600+ posts!) But I am going to ask a question. Please don't think I'm an idiot.

I'm 43 years old, and I almost NEVER wear makeup. I never learned how to use it. Sure, I've watched TV shows and I look at magazines, but it never made sense to me, I don't know if my face is round or oval, I couldn't describe my skin tone as bluish or pink or olive, I dunno. I'm pale, I have lots of freckles. My eyes are either hazel or blue or green, it depends on what I'm wearing how they look. But I've never learned how to put makeup on right. My Mom never wears (and never did wear) makeup. The rare times I do put makeup on I do it because I'm going to be dressed up and feel like 'should' but when I put it on, I feel like I look like a clown. And besides that, it never seems to stay on. An hour after I put it on, it looks like it has melted off or something.

So where does a person go to learn how to put makeup on without feeling silly or pressured to buy a bunch of stuff she doesn't want to buy? I don't really have any female friends that I could turn to for that, and most of my female relatives don't war much makeup. I also live in an area that doesn't really have any malls or big stores or fancy salons.

If you do not have a Sephora or a store that sells high end cosmetics near you, you can turn to YOU TUBE. They have a million make up lessons but pros and regular people alike. One I really like is a gossmakeupartist Get over the fact that he sometimes demonstrates on himself. He is one of the best for explanation. you might also try MAKEUPFOREVER that is another site that is run by the brand so it is pros that are telling you. BE CAREFUL of amatures some of them are .......ugh or extreme for example MrsTheDoll and WhatStyleistoNickel. Those are not the looks anyone should be going for.

Someone else mentioned YouTube videos (Bella? I think....) Yes, that's what I'd do.

A lot of the "rules" regarding oval, round, cool, warm, etc etc - are malarkey, IMO. Use what you like.

Yes tht is what the pink one is called. Will use it today. Cowashed my hair the day before yesterday and it worked out well.

Good. Glad it worked for you. I do it a whole lot.

You can also head to the makeup counters in high end department stores. Mac will do a makeup application free. Macy's does it with a 50.00 purchase.

Clinique and Estee Lauder and all of the others do it usually free with an appointment. Be prepared to want to buy everything they use on you.....they are VERY good at what they do!

I wanted to come back and give my thoughts on that perfume I ordered on reviews and reading the notes ~ having never sniffed: Missoni Acqua Missoni

OMGosh! I'm in  I couldn't love it more. What a wonderful scent for summer. :beach:

On that thought - has anyone tried the Lancome: o de l'orangerie & o de l'azur?

Thoughts please?

.

Anyone into Urban Decay? It's my fav as far as eyeliners and eyeshadows go.

Love Urban Decay. I have never tried their liners, but am mad in love with all their "Cowboy Stuff". The shadows, the glosses...all of it. :lovestruc
