The Magical Whirlwind Adventures of 4 Disney Loving, Pool Sliding, Jellyrollers

OK at Jellyrolls I was chairdancing and holding up lighters and acting a fool, lol but a this point I was just laughing at Tom while holding my camera...lol It is Toms fault. lol

Welcome to the Boardwalk Villas!

After our Animal Kingdom adventure, Tracy and I waited about 15 minutes or so for the bus back to Boardwalk. When we finally arrived, after another dreaded stop at Blizzard Beach, we were able to go to our room. The room number was 3066, so common sense told us (and yes we have some lol) to take the elevator to the 3rd floor.

Once there, we looked for the room number signs and to our absolute delight, we discovered that we were the FIRST room off the elevator! I mentioned awhile back how lucky this trip had been from the start, and now our room location added to that luck. This is what our room looked like--

We then changed into our swim gear (ok bathing suits) and before we knew it, Darcy and Tom had arrived! This is the part where Tom discovers his new friend, Little Tom the Towel Man.

"Tom's Joy"

Admittedly, we all loved Tom the Towel Man, and he became our trip mascot from that point on. We even watched Tom put on a little puppet show of sorts with that little towel guy. But the Bobo Clown Slide was calling, so we all went down to the Boardwalk pool for a dip.

Daredevils and Drinks

After finding some lounge chairs and grabbing towels, we proceeded to take a dip. No sooner had I turned my back and Tom goes missing... Hmmm... It turned out that Tom had made a dash for the first run down the Bobo Clown Slide (aka Keister Coaster slide), hoping that I wouldn't be ready with my camera.

"The Slide Rules"

I imagine the other guests by the pool were looking at me sideways while made a dash for my camera and kept saying, "oh that's just some kid" everytime I waited for Tom to come splashing out of the Clown mouth, pointing my camera across the pool. Luckily I had Tracy on guard trying to watch where he was at the top of the slide. After a few failed attempts at clicking Tom's picture, I finally got one. Too bad he goes for the full dunk exit at the end. I managed to get a very nice pic of his feet and a giant wave splash...

"This is Tom & What You See are his Feet"

After I gave up trying to get Tom coming down the slide, we convinced Tracy to give it a whirl. She had some waterslide trauma as a child and was cautious at first, but ended up loving it. Darcy joined our repeated slide trips and we had a blast going down the slide on that warm Florida afternoon in September.

Then, Tom got me coming out of Bobo's sinister mouth...

"He Got ME!!!"

We spent a little while more just hanging out in the pool and Darcy managed to find the "warm spot" when when the sun shifted and the water felt a little cool. We followed her to the warm spot. (Not that kind of warm spot-the water was crystal clear) Tracy and I did a few pool tricks, amazing the crowds with our synchronized handstands. Ok, maybe we just performed our little trick for Tom and Darcy, but for awhile there I could imagine we were in some water ballet show... Must have been the sun.

Next on our agenda was a stop at the Boardwalk pool bar. There is perhaps nothing like a freshly made cocktail after an afternoon of performing daring maneuvers down a winding clown pool slide.

"Refreshments"

So we sat at the pool bar for about 45 minutes maybe and enjoyed a few cocktails. We were a little wired, laughing and such, but the bartender convincingly admitted to us that, "he had seen worse." Now I suppose we should take his response as a compliment, but in reality, we had only consumed 2 drinks each. This is how we act with TWO drinks. LOL I keep wild company.

As it turns out, the Long Island Teas have quite a bite...

If you've been following along, you may realize that this is only part 3 of our second day. It was an awesome day. One of those days when you just feel good, are in fun company, and can really unwind. But the day is not over yet...

After our fun pool bar experience, we proceeded to go back to the room to hang out, shower, have a few more drinks (thanks to the 300 little mini bottles we had packed), and get ready for our dinner reservation at Bistro de Paris later that evening.

Despite drinking while dressing and applying make up, we managed to put ourselves together enough for an evening out. This is the end result--

Hehehehe great report! Keep it up!!!

I am so happy my waterslide fear didn't keep me from the Keister Coaster...lol It really was fun once I got over my terror!!! LOL

Well, I finally got caught up so thought I would add a couple first day photos and interjections just for comic relief. The first day I got to French Quarter at 1 in the morning but still had to take room pics. Ya know, I had a tradition to uphold.

Our room at French Quarter:

Yes folks when you are sharing a room with someone two sinks is absolutely essential. I have done it with one sink but this is so much better.

Anyway, as Tom wasn't due to arrive till closer to 11 a.m. I decided I should try to sleep a bit. After my nap I got up, got dressed and headed down to explore some of the finer points of the resort. As this was my first stay I wanted to get a look around. I am really thinking that I like this place. Next up for me is that Tom arrives and we head off to DHS. . .

So Tom and I meet and he gets ready to go to DHS. He immediately gets out the iron and ironing board. . .its at this point that I realize I have made a good choice in roommates since I am somewhat OCD. Not horribly so but on every trip I have ever taken the ironing board comes out and the room is usually messy enough that the Mousekeepers have to make beds and supply fresh towels. No other messes to be found. Anyway, that is only the first time I noted that I had a good roomie. Okay so off to DHS. First order of business: Convert Toms voucher to an AP:

Doesn't he look happy:

So after the photo op we ran off to ride RnR and TOT a couple times each. Then it was time for lunch. Tune in lounge at 50's prime time has become a favorite watering hole cause a few of us disers know the bartenders. Today was no exception. Dave and Dave were there to mix up libations for waiting patrons. Since we were more interested in food than drink we just wanted a seat. No bar seats so Tom decides to see if we can get a table as he walks to the ressie desk, two bar stools appear out of nowhere. We quickly occupy those and then Dave with personality gets us drinks. I introduce Tom to the two Daves and we grab menus and get some lunch underway. After a second cocktail and the lunch we head on out to see more of DHS. We see the Ariel show, ride Star Tours and I think that was about it. We decided it was pool time and since we had dinner at the Brown Derby that night we thought we would get some relaxation time in since we were both going on little to no sleep.

Back to French Quarter for some relaxing pool time. Then off to Brown Derby for an awesome dinner. We shared the cobb for two and then I had lobster bisque and Tom had this awesome salmon dish that was on a bed of mascarpone polenta. We really enjoyed this meal but were very full and decided to take the walking path to Epcot, burn off the meal and catch illuminations. Got there just in time to find a prime viewing spot, enjoyed the show then headed back to the hotel to hang for a bit at the Scat Cat lounge for a cocktail before bed. It was a very full and busy day. And we are going to catch up with the girls the next day so sleep is in order.

For some reason (like I think I left my camera in the room) I have no pics of Tom and I at Rope Drop at AK. We were there. Right in front. It was awesome. This is the second part of realizing I had a good roomie. I am an early riser and love mornings. Apparently so does Tom, as we made rope drop 3 out of the 4 days that he was there (the first day he didn't get to the hotel till 11 so I think we can forgive him for that day). Anyway, after the rope drop we head off to EE and walk on to ride it. First car up the mountain by the way. It was awesome. Get off and still have no line so we ride again. Then when we get off we decide to single rider the ride. And we STILL got to sit together (I believe this is when we started using the mantra "this doesn't suck" cause we were having a blast). We decided to single rider again and this time we didn't get to sit together but we were on the same train so all was good. Next we headed off to Kilimanjaro Safaries. Again the line was fairly short so we pretty much walked right in. After this we took in Festival of the Lion King, which we both really enjoyed - a first for both of us. Then off to meet the girls at Finding Nemo - The Musical. That is where Robin's story picks up at so I will just interject with photos.

Great updates and reports from all of you! What a fun time.. I only wish it could have been longer! :grouphug:
