Dreams was contacted by DCL and the Magic will be sailing tomorrow.

That is true and scheduled sail time has been pushed back to 6:30pm to permit late arrivers to make the ship.

Just thinking about if this was next week. If the airline cancels the flight and the ship still leaves would travel insurance cover it if you miss the ship? At this point we would not have time to drive and get there. I feel so bad for all the people this will affect both local and vacationers. Any thoughts?

I too have been thinking a lot about those sailing tomorrow (I go in two weeks).

It must be so stressful for those that are flying in tomorrow morning.

Just heard that the latest hurricane warnings go from Cocoa Beach northward--I guess if it hits it will be out of the way by the time the Magic gets back? I hope the terminal has power.

I am sailing tomorrow on Magic. Stayed at Doubletree Downtown Disney today. Eye of storm passed a few miles east, but we still got some wicked wind and rain. I saw some damage and felt our building shaking, but otherwise things are ok - we have power, etc.

I know about the stress this has caused. I worried all night about cancelled flight, missing ship, alternate plans, etc. The one thing I didn't plan for was a smooth flight, no hassles at airport, and relatively uneventful night .... which is what we got!

I assumed if our flight was cancelled it would be a mess trying to get to FL tomorrow. I'm so thankful we had an early flight out of PA and got to FL at 11:30 am. I had reserved backup flight on ATA airlines for a 7 am Saturday flight just in case. That would've cost $500 but its better than losing cruise fee entirely.

I can't wait to see the sunshine and set foot on the Magic. Whether it sails at 5 pm or 6:30 doesn't matter. Its all good.

::yes::

RJAKE1 -Great to see your post and know you got there OK. I was wondering about your trip as I rememered you were leaving today. I am so glad that it was not as bad as expected and that the ship will be leaving tomorrow. We are all packed (overpacked actually) and have to be up at 4:00 to be at the airport at 5:00 a.m. My daughter will be glad to hear that you are there and her friend will be waiting for her and everything is fine. We've had several tense moments watching the news and getting reports from my brother in law in Jacksonsville.

See you all tomorrow!!!

I'm glad to hear the good news! I don't sail soon- but that's why i checked back here tonight... since I had heard about the hurricane and I was worried it might have caused a lot of problems if the flights and cruises had to be cancelled. I know how upset I would be if that happened when we were set to fly/cruise! :(

I'm glad to hear good news though! :)

Interesting. Disney's website says they will sail as planned tomorrow (Saturday), however the Port Canaveral website says the port is closed to all ships until further notice. (This is of midnight pacific time, 3 am eastern).
It would make sense that the Magic might leave late if it makes it into port tomorrow, because is likely won't get into port until late. Port website says a decision will be made Saturday morning on when to reopen the port .
