Well that must be the German in my DH he loves a good roll and apricot jam!We both are of German desent and love rolls with jam. ( I prefer Strawberrry )
Milka I have seen at our local Target stores here, it's nice to know I can pick up a good bar of chocolate anytime. We also have Aldi stores here, where I know I can get good chocolate..... YUM! It's all imported from Germany and Austria.
We love Milka bars!We have to drive over an hour to buy them at World Market, they cost $3.50 a bar now. My favorite breakfast on the Wonderful Wonder was the cold cuts, smoked salmon, cheese, and hard rolls. Very different than my usual American fare at the local Ihop!
It's growing because everyone is anticipating the foodie goodness!![]()

Hi Karin,
I noticed lots of Jelly talk, the best Jelly in the world is Mayhaw Jelly.
It is found in the Southeastern US, the MayHaw berries are teen tiny and are collected in bogs, swampy areas if memory serves me correctly. They make the most wonderful jelly, a beautiful clear pink, that is sweet but slightly tart. I could eat gallons of it. If you google Mayhaw Jelly you can check it out. It is not sold in regular stores, mostly on farms or regional farmer's markets in the southeast. Now I want a tartine with jelly!
Here is a link to a wikipedia page about it http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mayhaw
I did not know that Colquitt, GA is the Mayhaw Capitol, makes sense.
YAY !!! A new Dining Report by disneat !!!!![]()
I do! Yummmm European candy!
Oh, I'm DEFINITELY visiting Austria one day! It'll take a few years, but I'll get there. And then I can enjoy the apricot jam!
Haha, I know what you mean about the coffee and tea! I always get the coffee on the first of the connecting flights, thinking "It can't be THAT bad." But it's never good...
Mmm, hazelnut wafers. Sounds delish!
alpinemouse;40608571Milka is a very special chocolate, and it takes lots of love to make this chocolate.
OK, I'm really craving some chocolate hazelnut now! I also know what I'm having for breakfast after seeing yours except no pumpkinseed bread around here.. Loved the commercial, lol!
I have noticed that every time you put out a new food report I purchase more cheese and pastries.![]()
Yea another dizneet review, Ive been reading them last few years!
The pictures of your breakfast at home remind me of when I use to visit my grandparents (no longer with us) in holland, there were always some nice breads, cold meats and cheeses, teas and poached eggs.. I really really miss it and unfortunately I live in a place where we dont have ANY Good bakeries..
Your flight snack sure looks better than the tiny packet of honey roasted peanuts they give on our flights! LOL
Cant wait to read more!
Maybe you are just secretly hoping that if you do try it it might not be as bad this time
Yummy yummy Nussini Bar. Tom that sure is alot of love into Milka, love that ad, so cute![]()
I showed Mick the Milka commercial you sent the link for and we had a good laugh. Now we know what makes it so good!![]()

Looking forward to your reviews.
I'm joining in on my first review - whee! Can't wait to ready about all of your eats!
I love good bread & rolls, the crusty kind. My fave is the Ritter bar with rum in it! Can't have the chocolate anymore, but I can dream!

YAY! 2 new cars...that is fantastic!
Did you know that Aldi originated in Austria? We still have the stores under their original name - "Hofer". It was sold to a German company but they reserved the right to keep the "Hofer" name in Austria.
Hi Karin!Nice to meet you! I've seen you on some of my favorite DIS'ers TR's and have also read some of yours now! I decided I needed to come out and introduce myself because I love your TR's!
I actually grew up in Germany (10 years) and also lived in Italy (2 1/2 years) so all things European are *home* to me and help me relive my childhood. My one of BFF's is German from Munich but she now lives in Innsbruck now and works as a travel agent.
Thanks for having me along and I look forward to hearing more about your travels with Tom!

We have Mayhaw jelly around here....I've never seen it in a store, only sold on the side of the road or at farmer's markets! I've never actually tried it even thogh I've lived here for 25 years. I think it's time to change that.![]()
I didn't know this but when DH and I were in Europe we made it a point to find as many Aldi stores as we could. Here is one I snaped in Austria!
