Indeed it isn't ... but then neither is raking it all up all the time. We have all tried on countless occasions to reconcile differences, wipe the slate clean, move on etc, but it has proved difficult if not impossible.
It's definitely difficult, I totally agree with you there. I don't agree it is impossible. I think it is going to be very challenging and it will require dedication from everyone involved and it's very hard to do. But I have faith that the people are capable of doing it. I'm a humanist and believe in the potential of people and their ability to positively impact the world.
I don't think anyone intentionally tries to rake things up. What seems to happen is that there is a misunderstanding, and then people bring old stuff forward to justify their position, positive or negative.
We can acknowledge the conflicts have happened, but try not to use them as justification for poor treatment of another person, again, to repeat, I am not saying that people intentionally went out with the goal of hurting people's feelings, that's up to them to decide, and even if they did, everyone does it sometimes, we can just try and do better in the future.
