The MAGIC-al 12/03/05 Cruise - Trip Reports & Pictures Page 6*

I'll be checking this thread daily (or multiple times a day) because we'll be on this itinerary in two weeks! We have cabin 8058 - anyone on board and posting now anywhere near there? Just wondering how it is.

Have a fabulous, magnificent, MAGICal time!
We are down the hall - and cjsmom97 is on the starboard side on 8 near the aft elevators....it is VERY convenient to be on 8...just run up the stairs to 9 and all the action.

we are at key west i finished eating at palo the tree is up. one of my dads work friends won a coin at bingo yesterday.

 Hi from the internet cafe. Everyone else on the ship is in Key West, except for a few diehard ship lovers on Deck 9, which I will try to shoo away in a little while. If you get a chance, stay on board during a port, it's really cool having the ship all to yourselves.

We just rolled out of Palo an hour ago, after a wonderful brunch with 12 other friends (mostly Disser's). Our server was Aleksander from Croatia, he is great!

I don't think anyone has mentioned the biggest surprise for all of us when we got to the port. We are not going to Nassau, because the Magic was able to find a berth at Costa Maya! (Probably elbowed that Carnival ship out of the way :teeth: ) While I am extremely happy to be going to Costa Maya, I am little sad because Atlantis will not refund the $300 that we paid for the room on Dec. 8th. The people who booked the Comfort Inn, were able to get their $$$ refunded. Oh well, live and learn, (and lose money, LOL!) And book Disney excursions!

Did I say how much we love the Cat 3 room????!!!!! And the Concierge team are incredible! Sonja and Dania, and OMG, :guilty: I forgot his name! I will post the other CM's name when I remember it :bitelip: . I have had more contact with Sonja and Dania, which is why I remember their names.

Funniest question of the day: "Does this elevator go up or down?" Love this ship!!!!

have a great trip! We'll be taking over next week!

How was check in/boarding?

Great! I had read about the "secret stairway" up to Topsiders but haven't been able to picture where it is. Have a great time!

My other question if someone has a chance to check it out for me -- is there any way besides going thru Shutters to burn digital pictures from your own memory card to a CD? And if Shutters is the only way, is it still about $15?

Thanks for checking.

And p.s. - how GREAT you're going to get to go to Costa Maya! We'll look for your reports about it!

Wow, talk about a jaw dropper...Costa Maya huh? That is a HUGE surprise! Hope you all enjoy!! :sunny:

Have a great time in Costa Maya!We surely enjoyed our day there. We booked an excursion that wasn't with Disney. It was Tequilla Beach, and we had a great day.The transportation there, and back was so easy as they took us there and back.If we go to Costa Maya again,we will book this again if not with Disney!Happy sails!

Two tips I just thought of:

1) Ask your head server to get you chocolate souffle from Palo's one night at dinner. I'm sure they will do it, but if they won't, you can order it yourself. Talk to PJ at Palo's. He said as long as it is not a terribly busy night, they will be able to do it for you. It's the best!!

2) If you have any problems onboard, tell someone. Talk to guest services. Talk to Brent, the cruise director, or Scott the deputy cruise director. Be polite and charming. Don't lose your temper or act foolish. Disney will bend over backwards to accomodate you. If they cannot do what your wish for some reason, they will try to make it up to you some other way. For us they brought us to Studio Sea at 10:00 on Friday night. The characters are there before the Till We Meet Again time in the atrium at 10:15. We were allowed to take all the pictures we wanted to with them. We got pictures with Mickey, Minnie, Pinnochio, Captain Hook, Peter Pan, Wendy, all the Princesses. It was great!

Please don't be rude. We want Disney to appreciate the Dis Board and the Disers.

Have a wonderful week!

1) We are going to PALO twice for dinner and twice for brunch - I don't think there will be ANYTHING we will miss :rolleyes1 - PJ is there, we spoke to him extensively today - a great guy.

2) We are not shy ;) & we are not rude :wave2: ....and they LOVE all us DISsers - many CMs are familiar with the boards.

Just left the Quiet Cove pool - moochinkassarole & DH - her friend, CJLKim & Jeff and the Hannosmom/chichi combo were there....BEAUTIFUL day!

Check in went very smoothly - we arrived around 11ish - got a number 7 check-in but then were switched when we upgraded - by the time we parked the car, checked in - spoke to someone about an upgrade it was 11:45 and we got on the ship....we finished lunch by 12:20ish and people were boarding but not a mad rush, the terminal didn't seem as crowded as our last cruise. I think the number system is a great idea - you just relax and enjoy the terminal - when they call your number - on you go!

Thanks for all the info and updates!! I bet you are all having a blast! I keep thinking "this time next week, I'll be getting ready for formal night dinner!" :)

How are the seas? Sounds like you guys have smooth sailing.

Have a terrific time, all! We 11/26/05 cruisers did our best to leave the Magic in ship shape for you!. Hope you have as much fun as we did!

We are trying to emulate the Turkey Day Cruisers but you are a tough group to follow.... ;)

I attended Bingo with cjsmom97 Jeanna :cheer2: & Hannosmom Linda :cool1: ....
Jeanna won a REAL Medal for verifying the bingo board for 'Pikey"....

Medal?

Pikey?

You are getting your cruise started right!

Have a great time with Pikey and the rest of the staff!

My DD's wanted to take Pikey home, so here I am carrying him back to the ship from CC:

I am sure you will see Pikey again-he shows up everywhere. When you do, tell him that Air Guitar Katie from the TurkeyDay cruise says hello.

If you get the chance, be sure to meet David from Mexico. He is a lot of fun, too:

P.S.- You see that hardware around DD's neck? Let's see if you can do the Disboards proud and bring home some more gold!

Enjoy your day at sea today. Disney legs will probably be held at the adult pool this afternoon. We need a report. Will there be a new Tinkerbelle?

What is the deal with these Medals? Does DCL give them out for contests? I have never heard of this prior to that last trip report......:)
